Chapter 342: A Lot Of Things
ZINA
Daemon approached her, taking her hands and leaving the office. He didn’t stop walking until they reached their bedroom... his bed room actually.
It so happened the Queen had separate quarters as well. A fact Zina had always know but didn’t like in the bit. Last night though, she had the impression that she had Daemon slept in her room. But it seemed she might have been wrong.
"All night?" She repeated once they were both in the confines of a private space. "You were up all night?"
"I stayed long enough for you to sleep. It seemed like you needed it." He answered, playing with a lock of her hair, his expression serious.
Zina immediately figured that he was communicating with someone through the Pack Link, and she braved herself for the barrage of questions that would follow after. She imagined she was being reported on and that was proved to be true when Daemon frowned at her.
"The Grand Healer was here?" He said, examining her body as if she would have visible wounds.
Zina smiled it off. "I am fine. I just felt off and she only came in to have me examined in that regards."
"Are you sure you’re okay?"
Technically, pregnancy was not a disease so she answered easily. "Of course. She advises I take it easy in the next few days and avoid extreme fatigue." She answered, brushing the truth halfway because she needed to redeem herself in Daemon’s eyes.
She wound apologize in the future for keeping it away from him, but as far as she was concerned, she had valid reasons.
He brought her body close to his and then engulfed her in an intimate hug while he breathed against her neck harshly. Her husband was tired... exhausted even. And yet he kept going despite it all.
"Thank you for working so hard," she whispered, her throat clogged with emotions she couldn’t identify.
"It is never hard work as long as I am by your side." He groaned, hugging her even tighter and closer.
Zina smiled. "Isn’t that fortunate, seeing as I am staying by your side for a long long time...." She said.
"Is that so?" Daemon repeated playfully, "I almost had some doubts when I heard that you were meeting with Jacen Vampage."
Zina wiggles out of the hug, staring at him with wide eyes and a big smile. "What? Did your informant not tell you of what we talked about?"
"What you talked about is not the point. The point is should you be talking with him in the first place?" He muttered with voice filled with jelousy while he played with her fingers. On it, she was wearing her wedding band that seemed to glitter in the sunlight streaming into the room.
"Believe me when I say jealous Daemon is refreshing to see...." She teased.
"Ahh... is that so?" Daemon drawled, holding her eyes while he kissed the tips of her fingers.
Zina giggled at the tickling sensation. "Of course."
"I would advise against you seeing too much of that part of me," he warned, his eyes holding a dark promise.
Zina suddenly realized that she had been so knee deep in worry yesterday night that she didn’t have a proper wedding night with her husband.
That fact spurred her, and daringly, she stared deep in his eyes.
"And if I see too much of it, what will happen?" She said, tilting her head up while Daemon’s eyes darkened from the challenge.
"A lot of things...." He drawled, his eyes roaming slowly over her until they came to rest at the flimsy tie that had her dress in place.
The dress was a beautiful black dress that had been among Daemon’s bethrotal gifts. The design was ambiguous enough to come off as sexually daring, and that was why Zina had worn it in the first place.
"Such as?" Zina probed, while Daemon deliciously kissed the knuckle where she wore her wedding ring.
Then he leaned in enough to whisper in her ears. "I could touch you in places that would have every wolf that smells your scent blushing tomato red.
She really shouldn’t be playing with fire, but she couldn’t help but press forward. "I guess you ran in wolf form this morning just to keep the edge off. I imagine last night must have been hard for you." She whispered innocently, and the way he smiled devilishly at that confirmed that her prediction was correct.
Daemon normally never saw the need to work out, but his appearance that morning told Zina he had probably ran at least all the way to the first borders in wolf form.
"It was hard indeed," Daemon whispered darkly, "when I get to the man that kidnapped your maidservant I will exact one half of the revenge."
Zina formed a frowned. "And what of the other half of your revenge?"
Unbeknownst to her, Daemon hands had crept down to the tip of her gown, and currently, those same fingers were decadently raising her gown up until her sheer stocking clad legs were exposed.
"I will be exacting it against you of course," he answered, and then slammed his lips against hers while his fingers worked on prying her clothes off her.
The kiss was hard, unrelenting even. She free fell into the sensation, abandoning temporary all her worries while clinging to the one sane thing that existed in her life.
Daemon kissed her exactly the way she wanted to be kissed. Without reservations or respect for so-called propriety.
He bit at her lips. Hard. And without any choice she opened up to him until his hot tongue slid easily into her.
Zina moaned, arching up to him while his fingers quickly worked on the corset ties at her back. Deftly, he unknotted them until her dress loosened, exposing her breasts to the cool air that saturated in the room.
But he didn’t stop kissing her like she was the cure to some sort of madness. Lips swallowing hers, they fell freely into the depths of desire and abandonment without a care for the world that was burning around them.
