The Alpha's Blind Fate -
Chapter 211: Family
Chapter 211: Family
ZINA
Even though she was not actively in her heat, Zina’s desire skyrocketed to heights that caused her toes to tingle from the feeling of satisfaction and pleasure that Daemon easily brought to her.
Zina wound her hands on Daemon’s broad shoulders, and they were tugged closer by the velocity wrought by their kisses alone. Zina was a ball of panting mess, while Daemon’s body that moved against hers spoke of a far deeper tension than she could possibly comprehend.
Kissing Daemon was always a new experience. Like the man was showing her all the different ways her world could burst with colors. As they exchanged their all, Zina only wished to be lost in him forever. Whether it be in his harsh pants, or in the way that his tongue moved languid against hers, threatening to swallow her whole. Or whether it was the way his rough hands gripped her waist while tugging her dress up... Zina only sought to be melded with him until they were lost in a haze of nothingness.
But suddenly, the kiss turned into something that was fearfully new to Zina. It was almost punishing and tormenting. In fact, Daemon was no longer kissing her, now, he was eating her.
The intensity of the new sensation knocked her breathe away and Zina attempted to step back from the kiss in search of a momentary reprieve, but Daemon allowed her no such space, one of his hands on her waist, creeping up to hold her in place by gripping the back of her head.
The bun that held her hair tightly unfurled and spilled, but his punishing grip didn’t waver for once. His teeth grazed her lips, his tongue danced harshly with hers until he stole all of her air and his lips kept smashing against hers repeatedly.
She honestly could not breathe.
She tried to say his name, but the protest died under the sea of his battering kisses. Her hands that were wound against his shoulders now sought to push him away, but he remained an unrelenting wall.
His teeth grazed hers for the umpteenth time that day, and next thing, he bit her... hard.
Zina gasped, but he continued kissing her punishingly like nothing had happened. Her blood pooled, staining their kiss crimson, but he didn’t stop at that either until he had thoroughly bruised her lips to the point where Zina was sure that part of her body would never remain the same.
When he finally set angled from the kiss, Zina rained down weak blows on his chest.
"What was that for?!"
His eyes were darkened from both lust and something else that was livid. Zina cringed, she would have wanted to escape and hide under a chair or something, but the ever reminding pain on her lips caused her to stay rooted in place while she glared at him.
"Perhaps we should resume from where we stopped and maybe then, you will know the reason why."
Like a mad man, he gripped the back of her head again, seriously attempting to resume their torturing kiss but Zina shoved him away before he could bruise her any further. Although her success must have been in part due to the fact that Daemon seemed to allow her to have her way.
"Is this because of the assassination attempt this morning?" She asked in a calmer voice, not wanting to fight him anymore.
"Ah, so your brain is working now."
Zina exhaled. "I am sorry about that. I was only worried about the coronation hence why I kept that information from you."
He gripped her jaw although not painfully. "Listen to me carefully, Zina. Never again, no matter the reason, will you keep something like this away from me. I shall allow you to keep your little secrets to yourself, but once it concerns your safety, do not try that with me."
Zina nodded frantically at that. His eyes masked a pain and hurt that caused Zina to regret her decision that morning. She should have just told him and trusted him to handle the information well.
Her trembling hands reached out to caress the sides of his face; "I will not keep such a thing from you again." She said profoundly, meaning the words.
Daemon exhaled harshly, his head resting on hers as his hand that once gripped the back of her head came down to hold her fingers that were resting on his cheeks. Their fingers entwined together; rough hands and way too soft ones; big hands and smaller ones.
They simply breathed each other in for a long time, not speaking before Zina broke the silence. "Why did you make that public declaration? I already accepted the offer to fight for the Theta position, that was unnecessary."
"Your position as Theta is one thing, and being the Luna Queen is another."
Zina’s breath hitched in her throat at the profound confession she knew very well to be true. "I want to be worthy of you on both sides." She said, knowing that he would fully understand what she attempted to convey.
"You’re already worthy of me, Zina."
That wasn’t what she meant, but knowing that Daemon understood it nonetheless, she decided to say nothing while she basked in the silence in the room.
"Sorry about your lips." He said after a moment of silence.
Zina chuckled. "As far as intense kisses go I assume that takes the crown."
Daemon leaned back, and next thing, his tongue darted out, licking her lips decadently. Zina squealed, but his warning eyes told her to remain in place which she did.
Instantly, the wound that would have taken time to heal on its own was healed.
"I intend to claim you soon, Zina."
The words more like a warning jolted her. Was it normal to warn a mate ahead of time for such a thing? But she was beginning to realize that as far as strange went, her mate Daemon NorthSteed took the lead.
She wondered what he was like as a child.
"But tonight, I just want to hold you." He said, kissing the back of her hands.
Zina smiled while he kicked off his boots and sprawled on the bed. Zina kicked off her shoes too while Dameon tugged her closer until they were cuddling in the darkness that was lit by his eyes.
Peace and warmth enveloped her, and for the first time in her life, she felt safe. How could she not when she was currently in the hands of Daemon NorthSteed.
"We have rescued Yuri." He said against her neck.
Zina smiled, "thank you."
"She is family, you don’t have to thank me."
"But she shares no blood with you."
"Family is not who shares blood with you, Zina."
And while others might not mean it, Zina knew that statement rang true for Daemon. And wasn’t she glad to be family to a man who held such a sentimental value. She shut her eyes that were misting over with tears, and she drifted into a dream where she and Daemon had not only become family but had built one of their own.
