The Alpha's Blind Fate -
Chapter 144: Jelousy
Chapter 144: Jelousy
DAEMON
"You’re dismissed Theta. And next time you burst into my office like this you will find yourself imprisoned then feet below the ground and not even your Temple will be able to save you then.
Zina’s eyes flared open, defiance sewn in them. She didn’t move, nor did she look like she took his threat seriously. Daemon’s eyes lifted from the Map Table which he had been studying halfheartedly while he finally let his amused eyes roam over her.
Her little fists were balled at her sides, her skin was downright flushed, and some strands of her hair had escaped the tie so they stuck against her face. Her eyes though, one of the most beautiful things Daemon had ever seen was filled with all the emotions in the world.
Daemon, against his wishes, remembered the last two nights and how they had begun and ended.
He remembered Zina’s satisfaction brought by his fingers, her moans that shot straight to his heart, and her pants that he could hear even then.
Then he remembered his own self torture as he left her room while his hardness raged and sought for release. Bringing Zina satisfaction gave him a different kind of satisfaction, but there was no denying the torture that had followed.
For the first time in Daemon’s life, he was no longer proud of his restraint and control for while they managed to lay on the ground in tethers as if shredded by Zina’s desires, Daemon had still managed to hold back.
Even when he didn’t want to....
Even when all he wanted was to take everything away from her until there was nothing left....
Even when all he wanted was for her eyes, blind or not, to be only on him... just him.
When she had laughed in the hall with Falcon, something had squeezed in his chest serving as yet another reminder that the beating red thing was still very much alive and not dead.
He wasn’t interested in knowing whatever could have caused the reaction, so he hadn’t bothered seeking what it could be. But he couldn’t deny the bitter taste that was on his tongue at the sight of Zina and Falcon standing side to side together.
A sight that almost pushed him to commit fratricide. No, he had to remind himself that he wasn’t a brother killer. He could spill all the blood in the world, but never that of family. It was for that reason that Eldric was pathetically alive, and it was for that reason that Falcon would forever remain his younger brother whom he had personally raised up at some point.
So alone, he had stewed in that torture while images of Falcon and Zina as the perfect couple flittered through his mind that was very unimaginative usually.
He didn’t know why he was jealous of the man.
He shouldn’t be jealous of Falcon....
Because come tsunami come snowstorm, Zina WolfKnight was his. His to claim, his to touch, his to put a smile on her lips, his to claim her life whenever he deemed he must.
But that morning, just as Zina had stormed away to the gods knows where, Falcon had challenged him for her hand. A fact that he would have found funny if not for the seriousness that was etched on the other man’s face.
A fact that would have had Falcon’s head rolling if not for the fact that they were brothers... blood.
It didn’t mean he couldn’t punish him any other way, and he planned to make Falcon understand that he could be asked for any other thing in the world, but asking for Zina’s hand only meant death on the side of the one asking.
"If you won’t claim her Daemon, then I intend to court Zina until she accepts me. You and I know her vows would no longer protect her anymore, so I intend to protect her for the time being since you obviously won’t."
Somehow, Falcon’s every word to him before the man’s unfortunate imprisonment was still ingrained in his mind. He had momentarily acted like the whole thing didn’t happen, but Zina’a continued persistence and defiance was bringing out all of her crimes to the fore.
"Leave us, Marcus." He commanded in a hoarse voice while covering the space between him and Zina with long strides.
The woman didn’t back away even as Marcus slammed the door on his way out for dramatic effect. If anything, she balled her fists tighter, her defilement like hot coals in her eyes.
"You must have wanted us alone to continue from where we stopped yesterday...." Daemon drawled, leaning down to her. "Fine. I am usually busy, but you can have a free pass and have me all to yourself."
His teasing didn’t get through to the woman whose anger only intensified.
"Who is Freya Fergus?" She asked in an interrogatory tone that Daemon had never heard her use before. At least not with him.
The question was startling because that was a name known only to a select few. Besides, the Fergus family that once existed in the Arctic North as a high born werewolf family were executed by his father, Alpha King Xavier NorthSteed. Since then, the Fergus name was declared to be an abomination to never be spoken by anyone ever again.
It was one of the bloodiest executions that happened in the last century. And after a sordid deal with his father, only the last descendants of the Fergus line were spared, and Freya happened to be the only one such descendant.
"How have you come to know this name?" Daemon asked seriously.
Zina laughed lightly, ending in a light scoff while she stared at him as if he were mad.
"Is that all you’ve to say to my question?"
"That is not a name you should know." Daemon warned, although he might have been talking to a rock itself for Zina only looked angrier.
In a bitter voice, she spoke. "Of course I shouldn’t know that you’re hiding your mistress in the same very castle that your mate is in."
Daemon narrowed his eyes on her, pissed off that she was accusing him of something so far-fetched. But being a man with a love for burning fires, he didn’t attempt to allay her suspicions and decided to bring up his own stewing bitterness.
"At least I am hiding her unlike you who have been parading a certain Alpha Prince Falcon in your arms."
Zina gasped as if she was slapped physically. And before Daemon could regret the words that had unceremoniously rolled off his lips, she raised a hand and shoved him hard with all her strength.
