ZINA
Zina didn’t just speak to the man... she spoke to the wolf too. That could be the only reason why Daemon was kissing her like their lives depended on it.
Zina was seeing first hand how much Daemon held back during their first kiss. Hell, the man must have wanted to make Zina’s first kiss look like something mushy she could giggle to at night because the way he was kissing her now? Sweet goddess.
This kiss was nothing she would giggle to at night. No, this was the kind of kiss she would touch herself to in the middle of a moonlit night just at the sweet spot between her legs.
A spot that was forbidden to her.
Her back slammed against some wall, and Daemon’s mouth swallowed her whole again as if trying to swallow her soul and the very essence of her being. The pain on her back flared, but Zina would rather drown in the pain that let go of his lips.
She tugged harder on his neck, drowning with him, in return he gripped her waist harder as if trying to crush them under his menacing grip.
Zina was an addict for his kisses. The soft yet hard brush of his lips against hers, their harsh breaths mingling together, the desire that hung between them like a carnal thing, the sin of all she was doing, the height of their needs for each other, and their wolves itching to let go of reason and end it all.
Not now. Just not now...she pleaded to the voices in her head that were threatening to push her together with Daemon and tie them forever.
For now, she wanted to feel the brutality of the need he had for her... the yearning he possessed only for her. Only then would she take this dangerous gamble without looking back.
A moan slipped out from her lips as the space between her legs burned from a painful need. She was like a hot charcoal tossed harshly into the desert where it could only burn brighter till all that was left of it was dying embers like fire stars.
Daemon’s body crushed her feverish ones like they were one body together, and the madness of his need drove her insane till the point the only thing she saw was darkness... and then stars bursting through her head.
His lips tugged harder, his tongue lashed out at her like a punishment, and his teeth grazed against her lips until he actually bit her and the metallic taste of blood filled her mouth... their mouth.
The taste of the blood only made Daemon growl deeply like there was a need he couldn’t unwound by himself. Although it wasn’t humanely possible, her body squashed against his until Zina could feel every contour, every crevice, and every curve of him.
Like the way her pointed nipples brushed against his hardened, broad chest like pinpricks. And the way her abdomen met his hardened, well sculpted abs. And the way his hardness brushed against her core through her clothes like a hard unrelenting, hot thing.
It occurred to her that Daemon seemed to be only interested in gripping her waist whenever they kissed. He hardly touched any other place save for her waist in the two times they had kissed... and whenever his hands had strayed it was to touch her at the mark at the nape of her neck.
The goddess, Zina was definitely going to the fiery underworld for breaking her vows. She was definitely going to burn for feeling in one night all that she had never felt in her entire life.
Was this the price of hell? Because it would seem she was willing to pay for it.
Oh sweet goddess, do forgive this erring servant of yours for she has sinned.
It was after that small prayer that Daemon forcefully disentangled himself from her, breaking apart their kiss that Zina was sure pulled down mountains and caused a whole volcano to erupt.
Zina was flustered as they still held themselves, breathing hard and staring at each with all of their desires and broken vows bared for before them.
They were both insane. That could be the only answer to this maddening tangent thing that stretched taut between them like the unending snap of a worn out rubber.
The last tresses of the waxing gibbous moon hung in the sky, a sign that the next day would be the full moon.
Heat.
The word taunted her. If she couldn’t resist Daemon like this, then would she be able to resist him when her first heat would happen?
She could envision tasking the Temple with putting her in chains and dousing her with huge doses of WolfsBane and every other sedative known to man just to prevent the calamity that was sure to happen from happening.
But did she want that?
Once he claims you, you will find it harder to become a High Priestess.
He will have control over your body and all.
Do you think you can play this game with him?
Something passed through Daemon’s eyes as her thoughts tormented her. It was a look of pain... like looking at Zina’s current appearance was one of the most painful things he had to see.
She wondered what she looked like. She could just imagine her lips wounded and slightly apart as she breathed hard, her skin downright flush, and her eyes exposing all the secrets she wished to keep for herself.
Secrets such as she actually wanted to try this thing in spite of the fact that she had given up on herself from ever being loved. Secrets like for once, she wanted to defeat the horrible curse that followed her.
This could be her second chance at finally lifting that curse. For a long time, she had wandered around their world without any personal sense of purpose. Now that clarity was beginning to sink into her, she actually saw the bond as a chance to try anew....
...even if the man who was her second chance mate was going to be a tough nut to crack.
But she didn’t want to fight for this man... she had gotten tired of fighting for a long time. Now instead, she wanted him to fight for her.
But could he see through his stubbornness and confront what was between both of them? Or would he carry on with his path that Zina was beginning to realise she knew little of?
Daemon’s arms left her waist, and left in its wake were little sparks of fires that were angry at being snuffed out against their wishes.
He shut his eyes like he was having a fierce internal battle within himself. "Go back to your lodgings, Theta Zina WolfKnight." He growled, suddenly looking gaunt.
The first time they had kissed, Daemon hardly looked like he had kissed her. Instead, he looked like he had begrudgingly performed some mechanical task he had found minimal pleasure in performing.
But now, he truly looked like he kissed her. The perfect mask he always donned on was cracked and the gaping invisible hole caused Zina to smile internally.
Zina bowed. "I shall leave in the hopes that your majesty will remember my vows to him."
The words lingered on them as Daemon stared at her with renewed interest. Like he was discovering something new about her. And they parted as hope bloomed in Zina’s chest.
