Chapter 371: Wolf Couple

I felt like a hot tight knot had formed in my lower abdomen and I realized that his words may hold true. If we kept on mate, and if I kept on receiving his seed this way, I would probably get pregnant.

“I thought it was supposed to be difficult to conceive your child,” I said as my hand instinctively moved to touch my belly.

“I did say that for the normal case for pure blooded human women; however, as I’ve already shown you, you have some strong wolf genes and also a wolf spirit dwelling inside of you. Given that this is true, who knows? You might be very receptive to receiving my child,” the prince explained his theory to me.

“I see,” I murmured.

“If you want to change your mind, it might not be too late,” the prince said as he stared deeply into my eyes.

I could feel my core clenching as I felt myself being sucked into his beautiful gaze. His words warmed my heart and I appreciate the fact that he was giving me a choice; however, the idea of carrying his child and building a family together still felt very appealing to me even if things were moving at a very fast pace between us.

“I still want to have your child. I know that things are moving quite fast and also much faster than I expected, but I think that is also fine if this is how things are supposed to be,” I replied after a moment of thought.

“Let me know right away if there’s a change in your condition or if you experience symptoms of early pregnancy,” the prince said with a concerned look in his eyes.

I nodded my head obediently and then he drew me into his arms and held me tightly. I could sense his worry for me and I wondered what would happen to us if I were to get pregnant. More than worrying about myself, I worried about what would happen to the prince if his father and the council members found out that I am with child.

“Since I have wolf blood in me, does that mean that I might bear an ultimate alpha?” I asked the prince as I tried to stop my voice from shaking.

I didn’t quite understand what would happen if I gave birth to an ultimate alpha’ however, I was certain that it would complicate things between us and I also started to fear for the future of my child. Suddenly, I felt that it would be much better if I gave birth to a normal child.

“Just because you have wolf genes running in your veins doesn’t guarantee that you will give birth to an ultimate Alpha,” the prince replied as he began running his fingers through my hair.

“I see,” I said as a sense of relief flooded my chest.

Just when I began relaxing once again in his arms the prince spoke up.

“Well, what I said is true for the normal cases of women possessing wolf genes, but in your case, you also happen to be my fated mate. That might change things and the odds that you might bear an ultimate Alpha. There is not much information about such things because even during my father’s time, he never managed to find his fated mate. Well, that didn’t stop him from producing three ultimate alphas with three different women,” the prince replied before grinning at me.

“My eyes widened in surprise because it did not occur to me before that the fact that I was his fated mate could influence the odds that I would conceive an ultimate alpha.

“I guess they’re pros and cons of everything. Although there is no clear data to support it, I would believe that your compatibility with me might help make your pregnancy an easier journey. At least, that is what I would like to hope,” the prince said before he started to frown.

“I see. I just hope that if I get pregnant then our baby will be healthy and fine,” I replied in a small voice.

It felt strange yet comforting at the same time that I was discussing plans for having a baby with the prince.

“You should take better care of yourself and make sure you get enough rest. Have I made myself clear?” the prince said with a sudden stern expression on his face as he stared directly at me.

“Yes, I will try to take better care of myself,” I promise the prince.

“If your body shows signs of early pregnancy or if you feel any changes, let me know right away and I will take you to see the doctor,” the prince instructed.

I nodded my head to tell him that I understood and that seemed to be the end of our conversation between us. After that day, the prince summoned me everyday to his palace and I found myself spending almost every single waking moment with the prince as well as spending the night with him in his bedroom.

I had no idea if this was a normal arrangement, but if I had to guess then I would say that it was unusual. Instead of living in the Sacred Chambers like the other honorable maidens, it felt like I had moved in to live with the prince in his palace. The prince rarely gave me the chance to head back to the Sacred Chambers, and was adamant about keeping me by his side.

“What are you doing?” the prince asked from behind me.

I turned around with widened eyes at his unexpected appearance. Although I wasn’t doing anything except for arranging some roses into a vase, the way he was staring at me made me feel that I had done something gravely wrong.

“I’m arranging flowers...” I replied simply as I wondered what I had done wrong.

The prince quickly closed the distance between us before he reached for my hand and yanked it away from the vase. I was shocked at his sudden action and I couldn’t understand why he was acting that way.

“Show me your hands. Are you hurt?” he asked as he began flipping my hand around and inspecting it.
