The Alpha Prince's Purchased Maid
Chapter 317: Travelling Together

Chapter 317: Travelling Together

“You never know what you’re going to need, you know. Better safe than sorry,” Jessie replied immediately.

“I agree. It’s a lot better than not having something when you need it. You’ll also be away so we won’t be there to help you,” Salena said.

I disliked the way they were talking as if prior to having them working as my personal maids I wasn’t able to take care of myself. Of course, I knew that my friends meant well but sometimes their efforts were just way over the top. I let out a sigh of resignation as I decided to let them do whatever they wanted. As for me, I had much bigger problems at hand to deal with.

“The prince is running a little late, isn’t he?” Salena asked in a small voice as she came to stand next to me.

“He’s probably busy with something...” I replied without much worry.

“Do you want to review your schedule again for the trip?” Jessie suggested before handing me the booklet that had been prepared.

“That’s not a bad idea. Thank you,” I thanked her before taking the papers from her hand.

Since I had never been on an official royal visit before or any kind of trip for work for that matter, I had no idea what was expected of me. Precisely because of that, I truly appreciated whoever put together for me a guide booklet on what was expected of me and the details of our activities for the entire duration of the trip.

“Don’t worry so much. Everything is going to be fine. Plus, Prince Leonard will be there to help you,” Salena said encouragingly.

“To be honest, there’s not much that I need to do during the trip. Mostly, I just have to stay by the prince’s side and accompany him wherever he goes. It doesn’t sound that hard, but I have to say that I’m feeling quite nervous,” I admitted before laughing softly.

Suddenly there was a knock on my door, and we all knew that it was time for me to set off. Madame Sand was there to inform me that Prince Leonard had arrived to pick me up.

“I’ll be back in a few days,” I turned to tell my two dear friends.

“Enjoy the trip!” Jessie said with sparkling eyes.

“Don’t worry about anything here, we’ll take care of it. So just enjoy yourself,” Salena added with a gentle smile.

“Thank you,” I thanked them before following Madame Sand out of the room.

...

“Are you scared? You look a little nervous,” Prince Leonard asked me with a slightly worried look on his face.

I would be lying if I said that I wasn’t at all scared. After we left the palace together, I rode together with the prince in a limousine to the airport where we boarded a private plane. The other people travelling with us did not join us onboard. According to the itinerary of the trip they would be travelling on a separate plane that would meet us there once we land. I sat next to the prince on a cream color leather seat in his private jet as my own nervousness ate at me.

“It’s kind of my first time flying...” I admitted shyly.

To be accurate, it was my first time flying while I was conscious. I figured that I must have flown here to his country after the prince won me at that underground auction, but I couldn’t remember anything about it. When I regained consciousness, I was already in my room in the maid quarters.

“Don’t worry. It’s very safe and it’s going to be a smooth ride according to the pilot,” the prince informed me with a small chuckle.

“Right...” I replied.

Our brief conversation died off there and I felt the atmosphere turn quite heavy in the enclosed space of the airplane. I wasn’t sure if I was simply scared of flying or if I was more scared of spending time alone with the prince with the various troublesome thoughts that ran through my mind. I didn’t sleep well at all the night before while I stayed up late at night thinking of what I wanted and needed to accomplish during this trip.

I was certain that everyone who came along on this official visit had their own agenda and that included me as well. After spending quite a few hours debating with myself while lying in bed restlessly, I finally decided that I was going to confront the prince for some answers. Firstly, I will confess to him that I had been seeing things lately when we mated. I still didn’t think that I was in the position to criticize or question him regarding his affairs with other women, but I thought that I had the right to know if what I saw in my mind was real or it was just a result of my own imagination.

The other thing that I had decided to pursue was to understand why the prince didn’t want to have a child with me. It might be because he did not want to inherit the throne, but I also thought that there could be another reason. Maybe understanding him will make me understand myself and what I wanted better.

“It’s not a long flight. Do you want something to drink?” the prince suddenly turned around to ask me.

“No, thank you. I’m fine...” I replied before showing him a smile.

“Are you still scared?” he asked.

“I’m feeling better. Thank you for worrying about me,” I replied with a slight nod of my head.

“This trip might be boring for you, but I’ll try my best to make it fun,” he said before laughing a little to himself.

I loved seeing the prince smile because it seemed to help lift my spirits as well. I was so excited about everything that I doubt that I would find the trip boring. However, I couldn’t help but wonder what Prince Leonard had in mind when he told me that he would try to make the trip fun for me.

“I guess, I’ll be looking forward to it,” I said before laughing along with him.
