Chapter 20: Uncontrollable Need

“Hmm...” I heard myself groan before I forced my eyes open.

The familiar ceiling of my bedroom greeted me. The room was dimly lit by the lamp I had left on to rouse myself so I could easily see all the medicine on the nightstand close to my bed. The throbbing ache in between my legs, along with that erotic dream that I just had, told me that the medicine wasn’t doing its job.

I reached over to the endless bottles of pills on the nightstand, and after fumbling for a bit, I found the one that I was looking for. After opening the bottle, I dumped a couple of pills into the palm of my hand and shoved them into my mouth without bothering about the proper dose. After taking these pills for a while, I could swallow them down without the need for water. It was a convenient skill to learn.

**Crash**

A loud crashing sound echoed throughout my bedroom when I accidentally knocked down some bottles of pills along with the silver tray that had been left there. I immediately knew that all peace for this long night was now wholly lost.

“Prince Leonard! Is everything ok in there?”

Leonard heard the familiar, overly worried voice of his butler. It took the man more than ten seconds to start pounding on the door, which was longer than Leonard had anticipated.

“I’m...fine!” Leonard managed to call out loudly towards the door.

“Should I get the doctor?” the butler suggested.

“I’m fine. Leave me alone!” Leonard yelled loudly.

The butler frowned as he paced back and forth in front of his master’s bedroom door and wondered what he should do. He knew that the prince had trouble sleeping for a while and had progressed so far that it could be considered a sickness. While he debated whether or not to call the royal doctor, a shadow fell on him.

“Oh, Prince Darius...” the butler whispered in astonishment and relief.

It seemed like the solution to his problem had presented itself. The butler bowed politely to the second prince of the kingdom. Darius nodded curtly before he approached the door to his brother’s bedroom.

“I’m coming in,” Darius stated dryly.

Without waiting for an answer, Darius took out the large key that unlocked the door to Leonard’s room. The key turned smoothly, and Darius opened the large door before entering. The butler politely followed Darius in to offer his assistance.

“Why are you here?” Leonard snapped before turning in his bed to face the other way.

With one look at Leonard and the pills scattered all over the floor, Darius had a pretty good idea of what was going on and the solution for it.

“Get him one of those ‘Satisfiers’...” Darius instructed curtly.

“Which honorable maiden would you like me to request?” the butler asked as he nodded in understanding.

“No! Please leave me alone...I am not fucking any of them...” Leonard refused immediately.

“Leo, don’t be so stubborn. Using a woman will help you get through this much easier and painlessly way...” Darius said as his tone warmed a little.

“I already took...the medicine...” Leonard muttered stubbornly.

“Leave us,” Darius commanded before he rolled his eyes at his brother.

After hearing Darius’s terse command, the butler quickly made his exit. The door closed and locked after the butler’s departure; Darius turned to face Leonard again now that he was sure they were alone.

“Get a grip on yourself! The more you take those pills, the more your condition will worsen. You can’t control your urges this way. There is no way to control this lust but to satisfy it. Why do you think we have a mini army of Satisfiers living in the palace?” Darius yelled as his brother.

“Get...out...” Leonard said while panting hard.

Suddenly, an unexpected knock at the door drew the two men’s attention. Leonard cursed under his breath in pure annoyance before he winced as if in pain. His body felt hot, and although he hated to admit it, the medicine’s effectiveness was wearing off as time went by.

“Your dear little brother is here...” a mocking voice said from beyond the closed door.

“Even more chaos...” Darius muttered before letting out a frustrated growl.

He approached the door, knowing Florian was waiting on the other side. He wondered what the little troublemaker wanted at this time of night. Without saying a word, Darius unlocked and yanked open the door. Florian stood before him with a mischievous grin on his beautiful face. Florian entered the room before Darius could say anything and approached Leonard’s bed.

“Ah...such an unsightly sight. The first prince of the wolves is rutting away and refusing to mate,” Florian teased, followed by a gleeful chuckle.

“Why are you here? Stay out of this, Florian,” Damien warned.

“What are you saying? I’m here to help my dear brother, of course. I have a very skilled and obedient Satisfactionier prepared for tonight. Should I call her over?” Florian asked quite seriously.

“No! Get out! All of you...get out!” Leonard yelled loudly as he sat on the bed and glared at his brothers.

“Well, that’s too bad. You can give me a call if you change your mind...you know, later in the night...” Florian said before he laughed openly.

Darius growled as his grey eyes narrowed dangerously at Florian. Florian just laughed before he walked casually out the door just as suddenly as he had entered it.

“I hate to admit it, but Florian is right. You need to use the Satisfiers, Leo...” Darius stated matter-of-factly.

“I’d rather die human than become a beast...” Leonard hissed through gritted teeth.

“You might die...” Darius said, followed by a loud sigh.

Leonard looked away and waited to hear the door close behind his brother. Soon enough, Darius gave up and left him alone in peace. Alone in his room, Leonard recalled his conversation with one of the royal doctors regarding this matter.
