The prince chuckled more cheerfully than I would have preferred in that situation, and I could tell that he was very amused at my reaction.

“Of course, that would be too rough on you if I don’t exercise some self-control,” Prince Leonard replied while still chuckling a little.

“Self-control?” I mumbled through the cracks between my fingers as I stole a peak at his entertained face.

His hands lowly reached towards me before I felt the heat of his touch around my wrists. Slowly, he pulled my hands away from my face and I ended up staring right into his captivating blue eyes. He smiled at me adoringly before he lowered my hands down to my side.

“Exactly. Self-control. Something that you clearly failed to exercise today and something that you need to get better at,” he lectured before he grinned at me.

“I’m very sorry...” I mumbled apologetically.

It seemed that there was more than history that the prince intended to teach me. He had mentioned something like that before when our class started but I never thought that he would have this kind of lesson in mind. Prince Leonard smiled at me before he sighed softly. I could tell from the look on his face that he must have pitied me and thought that I was truly helpless.

“If you end up desiring to mate with me every time that you see my face, it’s going to be a problem...” he stated as he cocked his head a little to the side and continued to watch my face.

“Every time that...” I mumbled as his words started to sink in.

Every time that I see his face, I would...want him?

My eyes widened in shock just at the possibility of that being true.

It couldn’t be, right? Something as crazy as that couldn’t possibly be possible, right?

The prince grinned at me as if challenging me to prove him wrong. I blinked my eyes rapidly in surprise before I gasped as the meaning of his words truly sunk in.

Will that really happen?

Will I really want to mate with him just like I did now every single time that I see him?

“Well, it might not be a problem for me but I’m not sure about you...” he continued with a careless shrug of broad shoulders.

My mouth dropped open as I stared at him with widened eyes. The expression that I had on my face must have been very entertaining for him to see because the prince ended up laughing quite openly at my reaction.

“But...we...spent time together many times before. I’ve seen your face many times before, but I have never really felt this way before...” I mumbled as my brain raced to understand what was going on.

“Mila, you might not realize it but you’re not the same person that you were before,” the prince said solemnly.

“I’m not?” I asked cluelessly.

How can I not be the person that I was before? Am I no longer myself?

“Well, I guess there’s no need for you to overthink things...” the prince said to bring a close to our conversation.

I had so many questions that I still wanted to ask him about what he just told me. None of it made any sense at all. However, the way he said it in such a solemn and serious tone told me that he wasn’t exactly joking around with me when he said it. I bit down on my lower lip as I watched the prince climb gracefully out of the bathtub. It was clear that whatever it was, he no longer wished to discuss this topic with me any further.

“Want to get out? I can help dry you and dress you if you want...” Prince Leonard suggested before he laughed softly.

“It’s fine. Thank you...” I quickly denied his overly generous offer to help me out.

“Let me know if you change your mind...” he said teasingly.

The door closed behind him and just like that he was gone and I was the only one left in the bathroom. It was only when I let out such a long and loud sigh that I realized just how tensed I had been feeling. I lowered myself further into the tub as if the warm water could help shield my body from harm’s way.

By the time that I left the safety of the bathroom after having collected myself and wrapping a white robe around my naked body, the prince was already dressed in his clothes and sitting leisurely on the sofa. At the sound of the bathroom door closing behind me, Prince Leonard turned to look at me and I suddenly felt flustered.

“You’re done?” he asked casually.

“Yes...” I replied softly as I ran my finger through my wet hair in a poor attempt to tidy it up.

I approached the sofa on shaky legs as I wondered what the prince had in mind for us to do next. My lips pursed together tightly as I suddenly felt tongue tied. It didn’t seem like I could get used to facing him after having sex with him any time soon. While I shifted nervously on my feet in front of the sofa where he was seated, the prince suddenly stood up.

“I should leave for today and you should relax and get some rest,” he said as he placed a hand on my shoulder.

He’s leaving already?

Although I didn’t voice my thoughts out loud, I could hear my own disappointment in my thoughts and realized that I didn’t want him to leave just yet. It was a very confusing feeling and I couldn’t quite understand the reason why I felt that way.

“Ok...” I murmured.

The prince’s hand fell away from my shoulder and then he headed for the door. His departure felt so sudden, and I couldn’t help but wonder if I had done something wrong to displease him. Doubt started taking shape in my chest and I couldn’t stop the frustration that invaded my mind.
