Chapter 171: Searching for Answers

The door opened and then closed firmly after her and I was left all alone in my room again. Silence became my only companion and before I knew it, it was already quite late in the night. My body still felt sore, but I felt much better.

Surprisingly, it was difficult for me to fall asleep although I was supposed to be exhausted and in need of rest and I blamed it on the day-time nap that I shared with Prince Leonard before we left the hotel to head back to the palace. As I laid alone on my bed with the lights switched off my mind drifted to think of Prince Leonard again.

I wonder when I’ll get to see him again...

That night, I dreamt of something quite strange. I had no idea when I drifted off to sleep but I wouldn’t be surprised had I dreamt of Prince Leonard. After all, it seemed like my mind had been filled with nothing but him for a long while now. That was precisely why I was quite surprised when I dreamt of a very large black wolf with mesmerizing blue eyes that sparked like a frozen blue gem.

Nothing much happened in my dream. The very large black wolf was there and that was it. The wolf did not move or attempt to do anything to me. It just stood there with its beautiful blue eyes staring my way. Its intense gaze made me feel uncomfortable at first, but slowly, I felt drawn to that slightly lonely look in its eyes.

**A few days later**

After mating with Prince Leonard, I wasn’t sure what would become of our relationship. The fact that he did not say anything about that to me kept me on edge for the few days that followed. I had thought that I would see him the next evening but after waiting anxiously for him to turn up, the only person who visited me was Madame Sand.

“Prince Leonard appears to be busy and has not requested for you,” she told me simply.

That was the simple yet extremely concise response that I got from her after mustering up the courage to ask about the prince. For a moment, her cold faced looked sympathetic. That look disappeared from her face as suddenly as it arrived, and in the end, I wasn’t sure if I had just imagined it.

“Thank you...” I thanked her softly as a painful knot grew in the pit of my stomach.

“If there’s nothing else then I’m going to leave now. Make sure to rest up,” she said.

After days of resting and doing nothing, my body felt as good as new, but I was bored out of my mind. Just when she turned to leave, I remembered that there was something that I had intended to ask her.

“Wait a second. I have something to ask you...” I said as I took a few steps after her.

“What is it?” she asked without much interest after turning back to face me.

“Umm...this might sound a little strange, but I was wondering...you know...when a woman mates with an Alpha, is it normal for her to feel like she’s lost control of herself?” I asked as I struggled to get the words out of my mouth.

Madame Sand raised her brows at me before her face turned thoughtful.

“You mean like an orgasm?” she asked.

“No, not really like an orgasm. It’s more...intense, I guess. It’s like you’ve completely lost control but on top of that, you feel like there’s something or someone else taking over you and...you can’t really control your body for a period of time...” I tried my best to explain what I meant.

I knew that it sounded crazy and the more I went on to describe it, the more confused Madame Sand looked. Her face told me that she had never heard of anything like that before.

“Did you experience that?” she asked instead of replying to my question.

I wondered if this counts as revealing a detail of the night that I spent with the prince. A few days had passed by since then and I was sure that whatever report that needed to be filed had already been filed. I took in a deep breath before nodding my head at her.

“Honestly, I have never heard of that happening before. If one of the maidens have experienced it before, they did not tell me about it,” she replied quite calmly.

“I see...” I murmured with clear disappointment.

“If I had to guess, that might be your way of experiencing an orgasm. Each person experiences their climax differently. I wouldn’t worry too much about it if I were you. As long as you’re having a good time with the prince and he favors you, there is nothing to worry about,” she said before giving me a reassuring smile.

It has been a few days since Prince Leonard dropped me off here after our date in the city and I have not seen him since. I wondered if this was the new way of life that I had to get used to now that I lived in the Sacred Chambers.
