The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter
Chapter 923: REI KNEW SERAFIM’S POWER MORE THAN ANYONE ELSE

Chapter 923: REI KNEW SERAFIM’S POWER MORE THAN ANYONE ELSE

Rei proved it that he knew about Serafim more than any living being in this realm. Even Lu was not really aware of Na’s true power. Rei knew a lot and his knowledge himself was a threat for them.

"Gnomes represent the earth, Undines represent the water, Salamander represent fire and Sylphs represent the air. The air magic stone was the last she created because it took a lot of her to get it done and while you can find a lot more magic stones in this realm, you can only have one air magic stone. She perfected the last magic stone with her last breath, that’s why the Sylph is very powerful."

"How can you summon a Sylph?" Iris saw the spirit and even though it was not as strong as the one she summoned, it surely stronger than the one Abby summoned.

Rei smiled helplessly at her. "I think I have told you more than enough. I don’t mind to tell you more about your power only if you are willing to learn about it." Rei glanced at Lou. "Only if you knew your own power, he will not need to suffer this long."

"You are the one, who made him suffer, don’t wash your hand from that fact," Cane spoke for the first time when Rei tried to guilt trip Iris by putting the blame on her.

Yet, Rei ignored Cane and focused on what he needed to say to Iris. "I can teach you a lot more about your power. I know your power more than anyone in this realm. You can ask anything and I will answer you without holding back, only if you are willing to let me teach you."

This was a temptation for Iris. Her curiosity poked its ugly head. There was myriad of questions in her mind and now the answer was right in front of her.

However, there must be a price for that and Iris didn’t think she was willing to pay for it.

There was this one thing that Iris really wanted to ask about; Cedric, but Rei still thought he had killed him and whether or not it was the right thing to do to expose his existence.

"My healer said you poisoned him."

Rei tilted his head at Cane. "Your healer is completely wrong then. This is death curse. He should have died right there and then if he didn’t bear the mark of Serafim’s protector. That’s what protected him. This is not only a simple mark. When you touched it, you created the bond with your protectors. They will be by your side in life and death situation."

Iris didn’t know whether she had to sigh in relief or what, because her assumption of her power could be completely wrong and she could do more harm on Lou, but she could be right too. She could ask Rei about it and get the answer, but she knew what the condition for her to get the answer out of his mouth.

On the other hand, Cane frowned. He didn’t like the sentence of his mate created a bond with another five men, it felt like he was sharing his mate. He disliked this whole concept of the Serafim and her protectors.

"Where is Liam?" Iris asked. Among all the questions she wanted to ask, this was the safest.

Rei sighed. "It’s complicated." He narrowed his eyes at Iris, who was still in Cane’s arms. "You can’t get what you want without giving up anything, Serafim. That’s not how this world works."

It meant, if Iris wanted to know more, she knew what she should do.

Iris gritted her teeth, but she entertained the idea of letting Rei taught her. There would be no harm in there, right? But, of course, she would need to discuss this with Cane. They were a team now and she always loved every discussion with her mate.

He always gave her different way of how to see things.

It took Rei more than three hours to really cure Lou’s condition and during that time, Cane stubbornly didn’t put Iris down. He kept carrying her in his arms, despite her attempt to get down.

However, even after three hours had passed, he didn’t look tired at all. The alpha didn’t even break a sweat and Rei glanced at him with anger in his eyes. It was not certain if he needed that long time to cure Lou or he just wanted to test Cane’s limit.

"He will be fine now." Rei finally stood up when the sky had turned dark. The wind entered the room and it carried the smell of rotten leaves. They were almost in the end of summer and soon the weather would get a little bit cold again during the autumn.

They had to end this before winter came, because it would be hard to get supply, since the sea would be frozen and it would create another problem for them.

"Someone will escort you out of the pack," Cane said.

Rei didn’t give strong respond to that, he only smiled and nodded at Iris. "I will answer all of your question only if you let me to teach you about everything."

Dean then entered the room and escorted Rei out of there, he would stay with his people outside of the pack and he didn’t even complain about that, as if he was very sure that Iris would fold eventually. She needed him to guide her.

"You can put me down now, Cane." Iris caressed his cheek and this time Cane put her down. "You are being petty, you hurt your arms."

Iris felt bad because he had to carry her for hours. She knew why Cane did that. He didn’t trust Rei at all and didn’t want to risk a chance for Rei to swoop her away.

"I am fine. It’s time for you to eat." He tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear.

"I want to check on him first..." Iris said, she went to see Lou and make sure Rei didn’t do anything to him.

On the other hand, Cane asked for their meal to be brought inside the room and for Grace and Abby to come. They could check on Lou, while his mate had her dinner.

It was only a week later Lou woke up and Iris happened to visit him. She became anxious because he didn’t wake up, she even wrote a letter to Rei to ask about this, but the man assured her that he would wake up eventually.

Iris also had talked about this matter with Cane and you could see that he was strongly against it, even though he agreed she needed more knowledge about her power.

They had not yet made any decision about this topic.

"Am I in heaven?" Lou asked groggily, he blinked his eyes when he saw Iris was actually crying. "I see an angel."

"No, Lou. You are in Golden Light pack," Ethan said casually, shattering his dream. He was there, pestering Iris again because Aliana was still mad at him.

Lou frowned. "Why there is a devil here?"

"What?" Ethan squinted his eyes at the merchant. "Do you really want to go to heaven that bad, huh?"

"Ethan," Iris warned him, chuckling because this was what she expected when the two of them were together and somehow, their bickering was really comforting and if Lou could talk back to the gamma, it meant there was nothing to be worried about.

Iris hoped everything would go well and there was nothing major would happen. She was sure she was in good state. She didn’t harbor ill feeling and there was no negative emotion she felt recently.

Most of the time, she would spend her time to stare at her little light, talking with Hanna and Amee, or occasionally would go out and people would come to her with flowers or anything they had, as a way to show their gratitude.

Vincent also changed his attitude, even though it was no drastic, but he was way more respectful toward her than before.

Everything was fine and she hoped it would be like this until everything was ended, so she could start her little family with her babies and Cane. They had gone through so much trouble that could last them for life.

However, who she was kidding when there was this problem with the Holy Kingdom.

"I just recovered," Lou whined when he was informed that they were going to go to Red Claw pack in two days from now.

"Lou, I saw you walking around with Lil Thing two days ago."

"Still, I am not in my best condition."

Iris shrugged his shoulder. "You can stay here then."

"Will you stay here with me too?"

"No."

"But, I need someone to check on me."

Iris grinned this time. "Don’t worry. Cane will agree to send someone to pick Nala and Sabian up from Diandem pack. They can look after you."

"Iris! You don’t care about me at all!" Lou watched how Iris slipped out of the room, laughing. He was upset, but he loved to hear her laughter.

And just like what had been planned, two days later they started to move toward Red Claw pack.

This time, it would be different because they knew alpha Dex would wait for them there and there would be a battle, since he wouldn’t give up the pack willingly.

"Aliana, can’t you see how miserable Ethan is?" Iris pointed her finger at the gamma from inside her carriage. "Haven’t you talked to him yet?"
