The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter -
Chapter 919: LITTLE ADVICE FROM THE GAMMA
Chapter 919: LITTLE ADVICE FROM THE GAMMA
You could blame it on her pregnancy, maybe that was why Iris became a little bit sensitive, but she knew what Vincent meant when he asked for the alpha.
Just like most man in this realm, they felt the world would collapse if they took an order from a woman. This must be the first time they met each other and despite the rumor about how powerful Iris was; it was very different from seeing what Iris could have done and only heard about it.
More so, her appearance was still the same. She still looked like that petite woman, who you could throw across the room with only one hand.
"Who are you to demand his presence?" Iris narrowed her eyes at him. She looked upset to say the least.
On the other hand, Ethan, who was about to open his mouth to remind Vincent of his place, stopped himself and grinned. You shouldn’t mess around with a pregnant woman.
Meanwhile, Vincent could only swallow back his grievances. His position right now didn’t allow him to say something nasty toward this woman before him.
"What kind of thing do you want me to do?" Vincent finally asked. He didn’t work for a woman, but the situation was different now.
Iris grabbed Ethan’s hand when the gamma was about to make a snarky remark. Her mood was already ruined, but if she let his attitude bothered her, this discussion would never start and there was more important thing to be done now.
She was not asking Cane to let her get involved only to get nothing done. Once again, unconsciously she wanted to prove it that she was not useless.
Sometime, there was this trauma that ran too deep.
"I want you to give me all the detail about this pack. How many people here. Children, babies, elders, the warriors, I want everything in detail." Iris didn’t talk in roundabout, she was precise and straight to the point. "How many people have fallen ill?"
Iris wanted a clear picture of what she was going to do in this pack. They might not stay for long, but at the very least, she had all the source to help them. Well, it was Cane, who had all the source...
Still confused, Vincent answered all of those question without difficulty, since he was the one, who was in charge for this pack, since alpha Dex had abandoned them.
Vincent was like a typical man in this realm, someone with status and arrogant, as they looked down on woman, since they believed, woman was only good for reproduction, giving them heir to continue the bloodline, that was why they had a few women aside from their destined mate.
His attitude was as bad. It was clear to see that during this conversation both Iris and Vincent were trying to hold themselves back, not to talk anything that was not necessary.
But, on the flipped side, this gamma really cared about this pack. This pack was his pride and for it to fall into Cane’s hand was a humiliation.
He knew every answer for the question Iris asked of him about this pack.
"The supply will arrive within ten days, but the supply that alpha Cane has brought will be enough to last all of us until the supply is here," Iris concluded.
"What do you mean?" Vincent tilted his head. He was still trying to figure out what this woman meant by that. "Are you going to say that you will help us?
"Should I let these people in this pack starved to death?" Iris asked him back.
"Did the alpha know about your plan?"
What Vincent said definitely sounded rude, especially when Iris was here to help, but he couldn’t comprehend the reason why they were being helped. Were they after something in this pack? But, what? Aside from being the largest pack in this continent and had great warriors, they were not a wealthy pack by any means.
There was not anything valuable here.
"I hope to see you tomorrow morning in the square and now he was tasked to inform everyone in this pack about this and explained to them about this discussion.
"Are you serious?" Vincent was still in disbelieve. Not only they were not going to live their life in slavery, but they were actually being helped? This was still hard to discern.
"Do I look like I am joking with you?"
"Did the alpha know about this or it’s only you, who tried to play power here?"
"I don’t need to play power here, I am already powerful," Iris replied. She wanted to get mad at him, but she suppressed her annoyance.
Meanwhile, Ethan and the other seven warriors smiled proudly, because Iris looked very confidence when she said that. The way she carried herself made it worth it to call her as the luna.
Vincent was still having a hard time to grasp that, but Iris wouldn’t stay until he was convinced because there were a lot of things she needed to do and she had to check on Lou.
"Don’t try to have an attitude with her," Ethan whispered to Vincent when he walked out of the room, following Iris. "She can be more terrifying than the alpha if you pushed her too hard." He shrugged his shoulders. "You will end up dead without you even knowing it. Just an advice..."
After gave that ’little’ warning, Ethan bounced toward Iris and pestered her, because he wanted her advice of how to solve his problem with Aliana, but Iris told him that she would listen to him after she finished with Lou.
"Don’t you have another thing to do?" Zephyr frowned at Ethan.
"What? I am here as an extra help to protect her," the gamma replied, but the seven of them stared at him, in which he completely ignored and entered the room that Hanna had prepared for Lou.
"Thank you." Iris hugged Hanna, she was glad she was here and was really grateful that Cane brought her and Amee to accompany her. "Can you call Grace and the Serafim?"
"Sure, miss." After that, Hanna left.
"Shouldn’t she stop calling her that? She should address you as a luna, right?" Ethan asked.
"It’s okay. I like it whenever she addressed me that. It reminds me of who I am before I am a luna for the pack." Hanna was comfortable with the way she addressed her and Iris didn’t mind it at all.
"She is the only one, who addressed you as such."
Iris giggled. "That makes her special." Hanna would always be special. She had a special place in Iris’s heart that no one could replace.
After that, Ethan dropped the topic and looked at Lou’s complexion. He looked like he was already dead.
"Do you think he will be fine?" Ethan asked. He frowned. He didn’t get along with this merchant, but he didn’t want him to die like this either.
"I hope so." Iris prayed so hard that Cane’s plan would work, that the mental warfare would give them victory in this situation, because Lou’s life at stake.
"Iris, why do you think the first Serafim chose him to be one of the protectors."
"I don’t know. I am not sure." Iris didn’t know how it worked either. It worked differently with Cedric and Rei, if the latter really was her protector...
Not long after, Abby and Grace came. They checked Lou’s condition and to no one surprised, his condition was still the same, if it was not getting worse.
Iris then proceeded to explain to them about the realization she had before the attack and asked for their opinion.
"You have tried purification and absorption, but it didn’t work," Abby stated.
"I have never touched Cedric’s birthmark, but there was some point, I have touched her with my power." That was when the food poisoning happened. Almost all the knights were in critical condition, because their bodies were unable to heal as fast as the shifters.
And for the prevention, Iris was sure, she touched every knights with her power, including Cedric. That must be the time when his birthmark appeared. Because based on what Cedric said, he didn’t have it in the beginning and was not sure when exactly he got it.
It was understandable, because the position was quite tricky, even Lou didn’t really notice it for years.
"Abby, do you know something about Serafim’s power related to one soul? Could a Serafim see spirit?"
Abby contemplated about this for a while, she tried to remember all of her lesson. Thankfully, Abby was a diligent student, she learned fast because she was in hurry to meet other people’s expectation on her.
"Yes, I think there is a mention about it, but they didn’t elaborate more."
"What is it?" Iris needed all the information she could gather in order to rearrange her mind on this newly found realization.
Abby told Iris about it. "The Serafim will be more powerful after she purified herself." What Abby meant here was the time when the Serafim used the five swords to purify themselves. "It mentioned the Serafim would be able to see spirit."
There was not many information about that and Abby herself had never seen the five swords in her life, so she couldn’t say whether it was true or not.
Iris lowered her head, she was thinking so hard, but a moment later her eyes lit up. "That’s it." Iris then looked at Lou.
From the corner of her eyes, Iris saw her lazy little light twirled around.
