Chapter 854: LU’S SOUL

Chapter 854: LU’S SOUL

"Lu?" Iris lifted her head, she became even more restless and stared at the clear sky. From where she was sitting, it was hard to see what happened deep inside the pack.

Feeling anxious, Iris asked Aliana and Ethan to help her to get into Lil Thing’s back.

"Are you sure, you are going now, luna?" Aliana looked a little bit uncomfortable, she wanted to coax her to stay a little bit more, but seeing how determined the luna was, she knew it was only a waste of breath.

"Yes, Aliana. I don’t feel good. Something is going on there..." Iris stared at the entrance of the pack, she was restless. If Lou or Jace already found Cane, they must have taken him here, right? Or maybe, Cane was caught up with something? Or maybe, she was only overthinking things.

Whatever it was, Iris couldn’t stay for a second longer.

"There is no point to stop her," Ethan said and glanced at Zale. "If I told you to stay, will you listen?"

"No." Zale didn’t even hesitated.

Hearing that Aliana chuckled. "There is no point to stop him," she quoted what he said and Ethan looked at her sulkily. Both of them shifted into their beasts, followed by Zale.

Iris was right, her restless heart turned into an ominous feeling the deeper she went into the pack.

The sight of her and Lil Thing caught everyone’s attention, most of the warriors in their beast form tailed behind her, running alongside Ethan, Aliana and Zale.

While one beast led the way, running in front of Lil Thing. The beast took them to where a vicious battle was happening between the lycan against Decratic, Zeke and Dexter.

Iris’s face hardened to see what Decratic was going to do. It was hard to see it clearly, but she knew the little boy was Decratic, there was no mistaken of this ominous feeling that came from him.

And right now, he was going to extract Lu’s soul from Cane. Flashes of memories appeared before Iris’s eyes, reminded her of what happened to Haco when Lu’s soul left him.

How Haco slowly forgot about his surroundings, about himself and how he was struggling in the last few weeks before he passed. It took him a year before he passed away, as his health deteriorated rapidly.

The same thing obviously would happen to Cane if Decratic managed to get Lu’s soul out of his body.

However, it was not only Lu’s soul that was being extracted, Iris could see the bright light from the sixth sword. The sword that Na left on Lu, the sword that contain with her purest divine power, it was being extracted too.

"Is that supposed to be the sword?" Elder Rose narrowed her eyes at the sliver of bright light that was engulfed by the dark wisp of Lu’s soul. "How it supposed to be the sword?"

Right now, the sixth sword was not in the shape of a sword like what the knights told the elders. It was like a sliver of light, like a white thread on a black wool.

In that case, how elder Rose supposed to wield it?

"The knights said, luna Iris wielded it when she fought the dragon on the lycan’s back," Elder Dandolf reminded them about this part.

"That’s it. You need to wield it," Elder Xarex concluded. "I will create a path for you to grab the sword after that channeled your divine power to the sword and stab Decratic in the heart. He is already so weak after the battle with the luna."

"What if the sliver light didn’t change into sword?" Elder Rania argued.

"There is no time for being doubtful," Elder Rose cut her off. "I am going to do it."

"The problem is with the miasma." Elder Rania reminded them of their other problem. Thankfully, she knew this was the poisonous miasma and laced the protection, so they wouldn’t breath in it."

"Hold your breath and create your own protection. It will help," Elder Xarex said.

And that was what they agreed upon. They were going to take this matter into their own hand and started to make their move when they saw Decratic’s focus was to devour the lycan’s soul.

"Now!" Elder Xarex roared and the four of them started to move.

Elder Xarex dealt with Zeke, while Elder Dandolf took Dexter, while Elder Rania helped Elder Rose to get close to Decratic and reach for the sixth sword.

They moved almost at the same time and charged toward their respective target.

Sensing the disturbance, Decratic roared angrily. He was only a step away from devouring Lu’s soul, but elder Rania attacked him and Elder Rose moved past him to grab the sliver light, threw herself into the darkness of Lu’s soul, which made her blind for a moment, leaving only that thread of light to guide her.

This darkness of Lu’s soul was akin to huge shadow that would swallow you up.

On the other hand, everyone around the outside of the invisible circle gasped to see what was going on there, they took steps back, because the air became more heated and suffocating, it seemed the area of their battle expanded. They couldn’t see it, but they could feel it.

Lil Thing groaned, the lazy bear became restless as it wanted Iris to pull it back, yet Iris stood her ground, she narrowed her eyes at the black wisp, at Lu’s soul that was extracted from Cane’s body.

"Iris! We need to leave!" Lou tugged on her hand, snapped her out of her contemplation.

"No. I can’t leave." Cane was still there and he was in a grief danger, how could she leave. Right now, she was trying to think of a way to break into this invisible barrier. She didn’t think she would make it if she forcefully barged in and Lil Thing already felt uncomfortable and wanted to leave. Obviously with her current condition, she couldn’t do it herself.

However, people inside the circle didn’t seem to feel the pressure, thus Iris concluded the only thing she needed to do was to get through this barrier.

"Yes, of course you can!" Lou became frustrated because he knew the reason why she didn’t want to leave. "Don’t be a fool, you need to leave now! You will only risk your life!"

Lou tugged her hand harder, which caused her to fall from Lil Thing, since she didn’t want to listen and just in case, she was crazy enough to charge inside with the bear, he needed to do this.

"Lou!" Iris screeched when her body fell from Lil Thing’s back, but Lou caught her body before any harm could happen to her.

"We need to leave!" Lou was persistent, but Iris could be very stubborn too.

"No!" She said firmly and loudly, which startled the merchant a little bit. She then wriggled her body to free herself, but he held her firmly, it was Ethan, who separated them both.

"Don’t touch her!" Ethan growled at Lou and pulled Iris toward him.

"What?! Are you really going to let her go in there?!" Lou didn’t hold back too.

While they argued, Iris stared at the strange two tiny lights that kept floating around her. These two lights playfully floated around her hand. She stared at her hand and saw that black dot in the middle of her palm.

Iris remembered this black dot. It was the one that Lou gave to her before they left.

"Lou," Iris called his name, essentially stopped the argument between him and Ethan. "What you said again about this? How to use it?"

Lou groaned. "I don’t think you can use it." He frowned. "I can’t even use a portal to get inside." He had tried even before Iris was here, but it was impossible.

Iris shook her head. "I am sure I can. I have the strongest divine power after all."

Hearing that Lou grimaced. "Are you gloating now?"

Yet, they couldn’t deny it. The strength of the sylph was very powerful when it was Iris, who summoned it.

"Lou, hurry. How to use it." She remembered something about channeling her power into it, but she could be wrong.

Lou then explained about it hesitantly. He didn’t want her to go to Cane’s side at this critical moment, but he was sure as hell, this woman wouldn’t back down.

Ethan didn’t look comfortable either to let Iris go, but he was worried about Cane too. The situation didn’t look good on the other side. But, if there was someone, who could save the alpha, it must be Iris.

"Got it," Iris nodded.

"You need to think about a place, Iris." Lou emphasized this. "But don’t blame me, I have warned you that it’s probably not going to work."

Iris didn’t hear the rest of his complain, as she channeled her power as per his instruction and thought about a place... a place that she could call home. A place by his side.

There was this burst of light and Iris’s figure vanished before their eyes before Lou could finish with his nagging.

It left him and Ethan were speechless.

"Has she... gone?" Ethan blinked his eyes incredulously. "Did she really go to..."

Both of them stared at where the lycan’s soul had created a dome over the barrier that was put around the battlefield of those magic users.

"You sent her there..." Ethan muttered, he was mortified to say the least.

"Do you really think I can have any other option?" Lou groaned, annoyed.
