Chapter 841: A BETTER UNDERSTANDING

Chapter 841: A BETTER UNDERSTANDING

Cezi regurgitated and was having a hard time to discern the horrendous sight before him. He was not a weak man by any mean, but what happened in this pack for the last few days was beyond anything that he ever encountered.

Alpha Colter was immediately secured, Diandem pack had fallen, most of the warriors had been executed, but half of the pack member of Diandem pack had gone missing and what they found here would shake you to the core.

Because when they scoured the pack, one of the warriors found a pile of carcasses. Some of the corpses only had their bones left, but there were some that still looked intact and only lost some parts of their flesh, what’s more, they found a magic user who was secretly eating these corpses. It seemed that the magic user had gone crazy after having to fight to survive in a very sadistic way.

The sight was hard to see.

However, Kellan didn’t seem to have the same reaction. He only furrowed his brows and ordered the warriors to clean up this place. He didn’t find what happened here as something disturbing.

"Bring alpha Colter to my tend and gather all the magic user. Kill all the warriors and put all the pack member in one area!" Kellan ordered them from his high horse and then he rode away toward their campsite. He was not going to stay there and watch the mess, there was something more fun that he could do back in his tent.

"I Just received a report from Andelus Continent," Cane said, as he brought the letter to Iris for her to read.

Both of them were cuddling inside the blanket after a long day with the elders, in the end, they didn’t say much and asked for time to think everything thoroughly, but it was obvious that they still saw Cane as a threat and the lycan that resided in him was something that they should get rid off, no matter how many times Iris explained to them that they needed the lycan, since he was the sixth sword that the first Serafim created to kill Decratic.

Still, the elders didn’t see it in that way and Cane made Iris stopped to defend him, because he could sense how frustrated his mate became.

Thankfully, the elders were still having their rationality and didn’t make a decision right there and then, which would cause more trouble than good.

"Andelus continent?" Iris read the content of the letter and then discovered the fact that Elder Rose was the former Serafim and she was actually Abby’s mother.

"This is not a secret, but people doesn’t talk about it too," Cane explained about why they didn’t receive this information earlier. "It seems, people more concern about the fact their current Serafim is very weak, but there is another theory about it." Cane gave the second letter to Iris for her to read.

There, Iris learned that there was a resentment from Elder Rose toward Serafim Abby, because she had her when she was already very old for being pregnant.

Elder Rose was forty seven years old when she was pregnant with Abby, it was an accident, probably she was thinking she wouldn’t be pregnant at her age, but as a Serafim, God forbade for her to get an abortion, since there was a chance the child would be the next Serafim.

The time when Elder Rose was pregnant with Abby, Gabriel, Elder Rose’s first daughter was clearly not having divine power and as Elder Rose grew old and her body wouldn’t be able to keep up with her duty as the Serafim any longer, the people from the Holy Kingdom tried to look for any sign for the next Serafim, the news about elder Rose’s pregnancy spread and they anticipated for the baby to carry the line of the Serafim, which Abby did.

However, Abby turned out not to meet with their expectation.

Which meant, people had a lot of anticipation and view on Abby ever since she was still inside her mother’s womb, people talked so high about whether or not she would surpass her mother’s power, but when their expectation didn’t meet and as it turned out, Abby was nothing like the previous Serafim and she was born with sickly body, probably due to Elder Rose’s old body, they started to look at her with judgment and disappointment.

That was why, Elder Rose didn’t seem to see Abby as her daughter. She resented her for exhausting her body even more with the pregnancy, in which she didn’t have a say in it and because of that, she didn’t really bond with her youngest daughter, coupled with the disappointment for her weak ability and constitution, Elder Rose always emphasized, she was Abby’s predecessor as a Serafim and wanted to be respected as that, not a mother to her.

"This is just his theory, but I think he hit the point," Cane said after Iris finished reading it and she agreed with him, Cane’s man in the Andelus continent’s assumption was on point. It explained a lot of things.

Iris wondered whether she saw it wrongly or not, but she saw the resentment in elder Rose toward Abby, which she could be mistaken, but then after reading this, she understood the dynamic within the Holy Kingdom better.

"How old Gabriel?" Iris asked. She put away the letters and snuggled against Cane, feeling the heat from his body and this was very comfortable.

"She is currently forty five," Cane replied and Iris raised her brows with a shocking expression.

"She can pass as Abby’s mother." Iris pointed it out and Cane nodded.

"That’s why he wrote younger people in Andelus continent tended to make a mistake that elder Rose was Abby’s grandmother and her sister was a mother for the Serafim. Even though, the dynamic between elder Rose and the Serafim is nothing like a mother and daughter." Cane kissed Iris’s shoulder.
