The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter
Chapter 776: DO YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW?

Chapter 776: DO YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW?

When Iris finally returned to their bedroom, she was well fed and happy, but when she looked her reflection on the bronze mirror, she shrieked.

"Cane!"

Her chest littered with small kissmark from her mate, it went up her neck. Iris looked terrified to see her own reflection.

Currently, they were in the bathroom and Cane would ’help’ Iris to clean herself.

Because there was no response, Iris turned around to saw the culprit was leaning his back against the wall of the bathroom, crossing his arms and staring at her, as if he was proud of what he had done.

"Cane!" Iris shrieked once again, not because she was upset with him, but she was shock to see him naked.

"What is it? You have called my name so many times this morning alone," Cane said, he approached Iris and hugged her from behind.

Iris felt her face and body turned very hot, because she felt like there was double meaning in the way Cane was saying his sentence, more so, she could feel his hardness rested on her back. He seemed not to have enough and was unsatiable.

Why would he hold himself back all this time when he was barely able to put his hands off her?

"C- Cane... I am sore..." Iris whimpered pitifully when his hand rested against her stomach. He caressed her there and kissed her shoulder, hiding his expression for her to see.

"Hm. I will only clean you up."

That sounded so innocent...

But true to his words, Cane didn’t do anything anymore to her and when he was done, he helped her to dry her hair.

It felt like in the past. Even when they had never had a peaceful life, but at the very least, it was not as chaotic as right now.

"I will see you tonight, okay?" Cane kissed her cheek after he was done styling her hair. He kissed her shoulders and crouched down in front of her. "Don’t walk around too much."

Iris blushed. "I will only see the children..." she said. After all, aside from following Cane to a meeting or two with the Serafim and the people from the Holy Kingdom, she would spend her time with the children in this pack.

She had grown fond of them.

Cane balled his fists and then smiled gently at her. "Okay. Don’t be too tired."

"Okay. Abby will be there too."

Cane nodded. He needed to go for the last join training between the Howling Wolf pack’s warriors, Blue Moon pack’s warriors and the Holy Kingdom.

The two packs had a bad blood, thus it was hard to make them coordinated with each other and Redmond currently got the backlash.

For Blue Moon pack he was seen as a traitor, but after the a few altercations between the two packs during the training, Redmond and the warriors from the Howling Wolf pack’s relationship became a little bit awkward.

Cane needed to be there to assert their priority, or else, the two packs would start killing each other even before they went to the battle tomorrow.

After Cane left, Amee and Hanna went inside, the two of them were beaming to see her. Iris’s happiness must be radiated from her body and this was contagious, which made the two of them were smiling as well.

"You look so beautiful, luna." Amee touched her hair. She knew Cane was really taking care of Iris and this made her very happy for the two of them.

Moreover, Iris looked way cheerful than usual.

The scent was still lingered inside the room, though Iris couldn’t smell it, but as shifter of course the two of them felt dizzy with the scent.

Iris went out to see the children with them and the five warriors. Zale was there also the moment he heard the luna would come.

They met with Sofia and Trion, who were holding the babies.

Because of what happened, they concentrated to distribute the food in the orphanage, so people needed to come to get their food, unless you were warriors and knights, someone would distribute the food in the training ground.

So, it was inevitable for Iris to meet with Sofia for a few times. They didn’t interact much, but Sofia would give Iris a second glance to see how normal she was.

At first, she didn’t believe that she forgot about everything that happened. How could a mother forget about losing your children? But, after seeing her a few times, she was convinced that’s what happened.

"Shouldn’t someone remind her about her babies? How could it fair to let her forget about her babies? If I were her, I want someone to remind me. No matter how bad it is, I will feel awful to forget about my babies." Sofia held baby Rye closed to him, while Trion got food for both of them.

The two of them were on their way back to the house.

Even though Redmond had voiced out his disliked to find Trion lingered around Sofia and his son, but the fact Sofia had to take care two babies and she still needed protection, just in case the Howling Wolf pack member did something awful to her, made Redmond relented. He himself couldn’t be there because he needed to keep Blue Moon pack’s warrior in check.

"The alpha has made his own decision, you better stay away from this." Trion gave her a warning look, lest this woman wanted to try something funny. If that happened, no one would be able to save her ass from the alpha’s rage. "Alpha Cane has a lot to take care of, don’t add more trouble."

Sofia rolled her eyes. "I only voice out my opinion, don’t be too sensitive. More so, how it is fair for her to forget and act normal, while your alpha is the one, who took the brunt. Grief needs to be shared, or else, your alpha will explode to shoulder it alone."

Trion said nothing about what Sofia said, he glanced over his shoulder and watched how his luna interacted with children. She was really good with children, as if she was born with that instinct.

On the other hand, Iris was with the children when she caught a sight of Lou. She was sure the merchant saw her, but he purposely turned around and tried to avoid her.

Iris frowned. This was not the first time Lou acted like this. He clearly avoided her, but she didn’t know what was his problem.

"Lou!" Iris rushed after him, before she realized it. She had been feeling something was wrong, but she couldn’t point her finger on what actually had gone wrong and Lou’s behavior was very obvious. "Lou! Stop right there!"

Lou grunted, but he stopped walking away and turned around to smile brightly at her. "What? Do you miss me?" he grinned.

This was the way he teased her all the time, but Iris could feel the sadness and agitation in his eyes. "Leave us alone," Iris said when Hanna approached her along with the other five warriors.

"Missy, we need to go..."

Iris narrowed her eyes, they acted weirdly and became unnecessarily uneasy. This only made Iris became even more suspicious. "I said I want to talk with him."

"Sir Lou, I think the alpha is looking for you, come I will escort you to meet with him." Otis took the initiative. If they couldn’t make the luna to be away from Lou, then they needed to take the merchant from being too close with their luna.

"I just met with your alpha, actually and I don’t need you to escort me to meet with him. I know exactly where he is." Lou crossed his arms. He looked at them smugly.

He was one of the people, who was against Cane’s idea to conceal the truth from Iris, but he couldn’t do anything too, since he didn’t know what would happen if she was being reminded. He didn’t want to see her so depress like before either and couldn’t come up with another solution, which was very annoying. Couldn’t he bless with sharper brain?

"Don’t follow us," Iris said to them sternly. "Come here, Lou." She walked away from them and asked Lou to come with her.

Hanna and the rest of the warriors looked worried.

"Sir, the alpha will not happy with this." Hanna tried to remind Lou about what the alpha had warned them not to do.

Lou scoffed. "I would rather make your luna happy, even if I have to anger him."

"Sir Lou!" Zephyr snarled at him, but the merchant had walked away and followed Iris happily. It was a rare occasion for her to choose him instead of those people.

"What happened." Zale approached them, he saw the luna went away with that ugly merchant, so he immediately rushed here. "Why the luna went with him?"

"No. Where are you going?" Zephyr immediately caught Zale and prevented him from approaching the luna and Lou.

"Alpha Cane said not to allow that merchant to be close with the luna!" Zale struggled to get away from Zephyr’s grip.

"You followed the alpha’s order only if you like it." Kian made a remark.

With that, they didn’t follow Iris and Lou, since they couldn’t disobey their luna too, more so, it would only make her be more suspicious.

"Tell me what is it, Lou?" Iris asked, once they had walked away from the crowd and no one could overhear their conversation.

"Do you really want to know?" Lou tilted his head.

"Yes."
