Aria’s love for Cane had turned into an infatuation and then obsession, but now when all the rationality had gone, what’s left was a hatred, as deep as her love for him.

Aria hated Cane for not reciprocated her feeling and chose this slut of Gerald’s daughter as his woman, as his mate, the luna of the pack! He even allowed her to carry his seed and give birth to his flesh and blood! Cane had tainted his own bloodline by taking his enemy’s daughter as his!

There was no word that could explain what Aria felt right now. She was blinded and overwhelmed by this feeling and couldn’t think clearly, aside from her new mission to kill Cane! If they couldn’t be together in this lifetime, she wanted to be with him in the next!

After Aria shoving Dexter aside, she went to get the dagger that had been thrown out and rushed toward the black beast. She was akin to a madwoman right now.

However, before she could even get the dagger in her possession, thousand of lights engulfed her body and seeped into her skin.

At first, Aria didn’t even care with such detail. In her mind she was mortal. Nothing could kill her, this light wouldn’t give any impact for her, but she was very wrong, because when she stretched out her hand, she watched in horror as it faded, like sand was being blown away by the wind, it started from the tip of her finger and reached her wrist to her elbow.

Everything went so fast, in their shocked, no one reacted in time while they watched how Aria’s legs started to fade too. Like firewood ceased into ashes...

Aria’s shrieked snapped Dexter back to reality, as he dashed forward to safe Aria from this destruction any further. He took off his robe and wrapped it around her body so the lights wouldn’t touch her anymore, he carried her and retreated to Cyan’s side.

"Go back! Get us out of here!" Dexter roared, his eyes were bloodshot red with panic and anger because his woman was being harmed, while Aria kept letting out a shrill shriek to feel she lost her arms and legs. She didn’t feel the pain, but to see her current condition was enough to frighten her.

Meanwhile, Iris watched everything unfolded with cold eyes.

Yes, she couldn’t kill Aria because she was no longer have her wolf spirit, but her entire body was reeked by black magic and it was her second nature to purify it. Aria’s life was sustained by black magic that Dexter performed, thus if all of that was being taken away, she would have nothing left.

However, before Iris completely purified that woman, who always thought about her man, Dexter had taken her away. Lady Cyan had created a portal and got them out of there.

"What... is that?" Lou was dumbstruck. "What just happened?"

All of them were harbor the same shock like the merchant, but it was finally Jace, who reminded them of their current predicament.

By this time, all the beast had shifted back into their human form.

Cane pulled Iris into his arms and hugged her, as she rested her weight on him. Only now, she felt this exhaustion. She felt like she was going to lose her consciousness. After all, the black magic on Aria was very strong, the strongest that she had ever felt this far, thus it drained her energy immensely, especially when she had just still sustained the Sylph to protect their pack house earlier.

Iris closed her eyes and let Cane hugged her.

"We need to put out this fire first," Cane said coldly. Right now, a good area of the forest had been burned.

If they didn’t deal with the fire, it could burn the entire mountain and left them in more dire situation, since their pack was close to Goffa mountain. The fire would implicate their pack the first thing.

"You, take her back to the pack hous," Cane said, with his remark, all of them realized, there was someone else there too.

Jace and Lou caught Zephyr and the other warriors that he brought with him. They were startled when the alpha spotted them.

"What is this? Did you come to be onlookers?" Lou sneered. "Did you enjoy the show?"

Otis growled at him, but the rest simply ignored his snarky remark, since they indeed didn’t do anything, aside from watching everything unfolded.

"Come, luna, I will take you back to the pack," Joel said respectfully. This young warrior became more and more mature, he looked like a full grown up warrior now.

However, Iris shook her head, she hugged Cane tightly. Didn’t want to let go, as she stared at the rubbles of the entrance of the family pack’s tomb, her heart was hurt so bad because she could no longer see her baby anymore. Her baby would be forever buried under that cave.

There was this agony in her heart that she couldn’t describe, she felt like she was losing her baby again, as if she had failed her baby for the second time now.

"Cane... they destroyed it..." Iris said in pitiful voice. "They are so cruel to destroy it."

Cane said nothing, but holding tightly on her. He suppressed his emotions and rage, so he could take care of his mate. Iris was not really stable since they lost their baby and what happened now must be a hard blow for her.

Cane waved his hand to Joel and the young warrior retreated. He instructed Lou to stay and think of a way how to put out the fire, as he carried Iris back to the pack house. He let the merchant to assume as the person in charge, leaving the warriors to help him.

"I am sorry," the alpha said, though he didn’t elaborate why he was apologizing.

Maybe he was sorry because he was not able to protect their baby and cause her pain, or maybe he was sorry because he was not strong enough to make things right for them.

There were a lot of things for him to be sorry.

"How am I supposed to put out the fire?!" Lou growled, but Cane and Iris had gone. "Hey!" Lou became frustrated, especially when all the warriors that surrounded him stared at him with expectant eyes.

"So? How you will put out the fire?" Jace asked.

"How do I know?!" Lou was annoyed. He hated to be put responsible for something that he didn’t do.

In the end, they had to go back to the pack house and called for the remaining twelve magic users to think of a way to stop the fire from burning the entire mountain.

Sabian was called to come too and Lou leave the old man in charge of everything, as he rushed back to the pack house.

In the end, it was Sabian, the twelve magic users and Jace, also some warriors, who tried to completing the task.

However, their nightmare didn’t end up only there, because once they returned to the pack house... another dreadful news reached them.

"Can’t we kill her?" Alpha Nolan asked, agitated because he couldn’t get his son.

Redmond threw a nasty look at the alpha from the Winter Moon pack. What else he was thinking after he provoking Cane? Did he really believe Cane would give up his son after he destroyed his family’s tomb. What an idiot!

Of course, Redmond didn’t say it out loud. He only stayed there to enjoy the screaming from inside the tent, where Aria was wasting her breath to screech on the top of her lungs like a banshee. He was not sure what happened, that’s why he hung around to know more about the detail what the cause of that supposed to be dead woman to pollute the air with her screaming.

Currently they were back in the barack, where Redmond managed to drag alpha Nolan’s sorry ass back here after the brilliant idea of Aria to destroy the family tomb.

"Why don’t you kill her so we can regain some peace?!" Alpha Gallot was angry as well.

However, Lady Cyan didn’t give them a definitive answer, because she was also clueless why Dexter didn’t kill that woman and was infatuated by her. More so, father sent massage to not do anything reckless against Aria.

That was the order from Decratic.

And miles away from there, Zeke had the same question to his master. "My lord, what the use of that woman? That woman only blinded Dexter. She is nothing but a burden now her purpose to live has been fulfilled."

Decratic sneered, he looked to enjoy this moment, as he sat on a big rock and stared at the gloomy sky, while in the distance, you could hear the howling of countless monsters. They should have been hibernating right now, but that didn’t happen.

"She is still useful..." Decratic murmured.

"What the use of her?" Zeke couldn’t understand. In his eyes, that woman didn’t have any use anymore.

"She is still useful..." Decratic only repeated what he said. "Let them kill her instead."

Of course, Aria was very useful, but not in the way Zeke expected, because of Aria, there was a certain someone, who harbored a deep hatred toward Iris, someone who wanted to hurt her so bad because of the pain he was feeling right now.

"Ah, it is about time..." Decratic sighed with feeling, as he grinned from ear to ear. "This will be a fantastic feeling!"
