Chapter 743: THE CIRCLE OF THE SERAFIM

Chapter 743: THE CIRCLE OF THE SERAFIM

"Are you serious right now? You are leaving her alone with that woman?" Lou furrowed his brows, he glared at Cane because he agreed to leave Iris alone with the Serafim and in Lou’s eyes, Abby was nothing, but a ’woman’. He didn’t put any effort to respect the Serafim at all when he was out of an earshot from the Holy Kingdom people.

Lou talked in low voice, but as a shifter, Cane could hear him well, though it couldn’t be said the same to the other knights, as they looked at Lou intensely, wondering what that merchant turned out to be a magic user, was complaining.

"How can you be sure about that?" Lou looked very displeased, as if that was his mate, who was inside the room and was in danger.

"Because she is powerful."

That short answer was enough to make Lou shut up, as he remembered how Iris had summoned the Sylph. He elbowed Cane to get the alpha attention, as he spoke again. "Tell me all the detail about her."

Hearing that Cane only threw him a disgusting look and said nothing.

On the other hand, Nala kept glancing toward Cane, she felt a little bit awkward because Lou, Kian and the man she had crush on were gathered in the same place, she felt a little bit sheepish and timid and Kian could see the way Nala tried to steal a glance at his alpha, while Lou didn’t seem to care what his woman was doing.

Right at that time, when they were waiting for the final result of the conversation between the luna and the Serafim, Koda came in hurry, his face was ashen, as he reported something to Cane.

"There is something wrong! There is a flock of crows! They are coming to our way here! The watcher told us about it!" Koda spoke hastily.

"What are you afraid of with a flock of crows?" Ethan chimed in. He was standing next to Cane, while Cedric and the other four knights came to approach Koda. They could sense something was wrong.

"What happened here?" Liam asked.

"A flock of crows," Lou told him indifferently.

Koda fumed. "I am not talking about a few dozen crows! I am talking about a hundred thousand crows!" he snapped. "Come here and see it yourself! They are coming!"

Koda shifted into his beast and Cane followed, while Lou chose to stay, the beta and the gamma went with them, so did Cedric and the other four knights chose to stay behind, since the Serafim was still talking with Iris.

"Why don’t you go?" Lou asked, Zephyr and the other. "Shouldn’t you go with your alpha? Don’t worry, I will keep her safe."

However, Zephyr didn’t bother to answer that and the other warriors pretended they didn’t listen to Lou’s complain.

Nala approached Lou and stood by his side, she could feel Kian’s eyes burned her cheek. "Do you want me to go to see what is going on?" she wanted to leave, but felt a little bit awkward.

"Yes, yes, go, go." Lou waved his hand, telling Nala to leave him. He didn’t really care about the crows right now.

And with that, Nala shifted into her beast and left to chase after the alpha. She ignored the way Kian stared at her.

"You don’t have a thing with her, right?" Otis elbowed Kian lightly, because he kept staring at the merchant’s woman. He furrowed his brows because he could sense something was going on between them two.

Yet, Kian simply shook his head and shifted his attention on something else.

Meanwhile, inside the room, Iris was staring at Serafim. She refused to say anything about how she got divine power, until her curiosity was satisfied.

"We are not going anywhere if you are being adamant not to say anything like this," Iris said. "She sat down again, but even when she did that, she still carried this authority with her, like a queen, who was staring at her subject. "I feel restless to be away from my baby, so maybe I will change my mind and couldn’t care less about your explanation at all."

Abby clenched her fists under her sleeves, as she stared at Iris. She was conflicted. This was the rule in the Holy Kingdom that she couldn’t disclose any secret about them, especially to outsider, more so to these shifters, as their people, naturally looked down on them.

"Can you give me back my lizard?" Iris asked after a long silent that stretched between them.

"It’s a salamander and the creature belong to a Serafim. You know well that Salamander, Sylph and the other two mythical creatures belong to the Serafim." Abby sat down as well, but the coldness inside the room was the same like the winter out there.

"And yet, the two of them came upon my call," Iris stated in a matter of fact tone, which made Abby’s face turned even more dour.

Iris was right, the two creatures came upon her call. "How can you do that?"

This time, Iris didn’t say anything, she leaned her back, resting against the backrest of her chair. The Serafim kept asking the same thing when she knew she wouldn’t get any answer before she agreed to Iris’s term.

Therefore, Iris didn’t waste her energy to entertain her long-winded question.

Abby took some time to think about it. She lowered her head and was deep in thought when she finally answered her question.

"The five swords are the swords that contain the first Serafim’s power. The swords can purify the next Serafim from any bad influence and increased their power. In the history, there is no Serafim as powerful as Serafim Na, the first Serafim. It’s only her, who can purify herself, while the Serafim after her need to visit the Great Shrine every now and then to keep their divine power pure."

More or less, what Abby told Iris about the five swords were the same thing that Haco had already told her.

Even by telling Iris this piece, she would get herself into a trouble, once the people in the Holy Kingdom learned about this.

"What if..." Iris chose her words carefully. "What if the words are destroyed?"

"The words can’t be destroyed." Abby frowned. What Iris wanted to say? "Just like I have told you before, the swords are connected to the Serafim, since it contains the first Serafim’s divine power, even the location is hard to reach and a top secret." Abby narrowed her eyes. "How do you know about these swords. Did the senile sorcerer from the Holy Kingdom told you about it?"

The person that Abby meant was Haco. She had learned about his origin, but there was no point to hold him accountable when he even barely recognized himself.

"What if the swords are destroyed?" Iris insisted on this.

Abby stared at Iris for a while and blurted out what she was thinking. "The purpose of the swords are for the Serafim to purify themselves from bad influence, if those swords are destroyed... The circle of the Serafim will stop. There is no more Serafim."

"What about Decratic?"
