Chapter 719: BLACK RAIN AND DARK SKY (61)
As if the timing couldn’t be more bad, Della started to feel the contraction on her stomach. She knew the baby was coming, this was her month, but who would have thought it was the same time where they were under the monster attack.
Amara and Tatiana were by her side, calming her down, but they didn’t know what to do to help, aside from rubbing her arm and held her hand. They didn’t know that giving birth could be this scary, since they had never witnessed one.
"Where is Aderan?" Tatiana asked, she was on the verge of crying. She was younger than Amara by two years old.
"I don’t know." Amara looked around, but he couldn’t see the man. He said he was going to get some help.
Meanwhile, the pack member of the Golden Light pack only watched, they didn’t do anything to help. In their mind, Cane and Alpha Colter’s people didn’t deserve their sympathy, since they were literally war prisoner. Not to mention how bad alpha Colter’s warriors treated them all this time, they had been turned into slave.
"Is she going to die?" Tatiana asked in small, shaking voice. Della looked so pale and sweat broke on her forehead, as she kept whimpering and breathing irregularly.
"Don’t talk nonsense..." Tatiana reprimanded Amara. Both of them didn’t know that Della was the former queen, since they had never stepped into the capital city, so did the other pack member in this Golden Light pack.
Meanwhile, the children that they brought from the black market were all crying, because they were already fond of Della.
"Ad- Aderan... where is Aderan...?" Della looked for her mate, she wanted her mate to comfort her, but he was nowhere to be seen, which made her even more scared for her life and their baby.
Thankfully, it didn’t take long before Aderan returned with Aliana, Ethan, Eron and Dyne. However, none of them were a healer.
"Aderan..." Della whimpered, she stretched out her hand toward her mate, tears stained her face, as she tried to hold back the pain. "It’s so painful..."
Aliana calmed herself down, they needed to find their luna, but Iris was not here and their only solace was the thought she was with the alpha and probably, she was in the other shelter, therefore, in the time being, Aliana needed to focus on what she could do to help.
"Eron, Dyne, take the children from here, they shouldn’t watch this. Amara, Tatiana, stay and help me. Aderan take her to the quiet corner over there. Ethan, I need you to get me warm water and towel." Aliana fired order to people around her that could help to alleviate the stress of the situation.
In the slavery, with so many women were being raped and there were so many children were being born, Aliana was used to help during their delivery, thus she knew what to do. She had given birth herself...
Hearing the order, they immediately moved as per her instruction. They didn’t waste a second, while the other pack member had this impassive look on their face.
Once Della had been moved, Aliana immediately checked on the baby, while Aderan stayed with Della to give support and whispered a few words to her ear, giving courage that she needed.
"H- How is she?" Aderan had never been so scared like this in his entire life, not when he faced his alpha after he was caught of trying to flee this continent with Della, neither when he kidnapped Alpha Nolan’s son.
If something happened to Della and their child, he didn’t know what to feel, probably his time during the slavery would be so pale in comparison for the fear of that thought.
"Aliana?!" Aderan became a little bit agitated when Aliana didn’t answer his question.
On the other hand, Aliana furrowed her brows, she had this complicated look on her face. There was complication with the baby and they indeed needed a healer.
"Aderan, I think you need to get Grace here." Aliana didn’t explain further, but Aderan immediately knew there was something wrong with the situation.
"No... I don’t want you to leave... please... don’t go..." Della begged, she was so scared to be surrounded by people that she was not close with.
Seeing that, Aliana ordered Tatiana and Amara to swap their assignment with Eron and Dyne, and asked the warriors to get Grace from the other shelters.
Tatiana and Amara immediately left, for them, staying with the children was a better option than to watch this.
Meanwhile, all the magic users from the Holy Kingdom, who survived this monster attack had gathered with the Serafim and her five knights. At the same time of their arrival, Iris, Cane and Lou were there too.
Lou helped Iris to get off the black beast’s back carefully and Ethan caught the sight of them, though it was weird to see the three of them were together and rather in harmony, the gamma didn’t have time for that and immediately approached them.
"Heaven!" Ethan checked on Iris’s first. "Are you, okay? We looked for you and couldn’t find you, I thought you were in the other shelter!" He didn’t need to check on his alpha, as long as he was still standing, then it meant he was fine, more so with the merchant. He was there and breathing, it meant he was alive.
"I am fine, we were attacked by monster," Iris said, she glanced at Abby, who was standing not too far from her, talking to the magic users, their eyes met for a brief second before she averted her gaze.
"Alpha Cane! I am glad you are fine!" Koda approached Cane, he indeed looked glad to see him there. He would rather have a cooperation with Cane than with people from the Holy Kingdom.
"How things here?" Cane asked, he held Iris’s hand and looked around this shelter.
The shelter was located deep into the pack house, where it surrounded by rocks and dense trees, where now had withered. The ground was covered by snow and the trees and rocks looked the same, therefore if you were not familiar with this place, you might be lost.
Yet, the trees and the rocks could be their perfect fortress to hide from the monster, as long as they were not, by chance, found the right way to reach them.
"The Serafim planned to close the portals by using the Sylphs..." It was Ethan who reported everything to Cane, he also told him about Della’s condition, without mentioning her name.
Right at that time, the Serafim approached them, once again, her eyes met with Iris, but she was the one, who averted her gaze first.
Abby told Cane about her plan in detail and what she was going to do to close the portal, because if they didn’t do it, there was no way they would be able to survive this attack. The monsters kept coming out from those blackholes.
There were around two hundreds magic users with them and they would put protection around this shelter.
"Good news is, we can close the portal from here. We don’t need to be so close to the portals personally," Abby explained this to Cane and Koda. "But, we need all the warriors and the knights to stand by, in case the shield of protection cracked during the process, since closing the portal will expose our location, they will be able to see where the magic came from. I think this method is better than sending the magic users to be close with the portal personally and risk some of them died when the monster attacked."
If they had to send these magic users out there to close the portal, there would be some knights and warriors, who died protecting them.
But the negative side of this method, it could reveal this shelter.
"What do you think?" Abby asked Cane’s suggestion, since all this time, he was the strategist of all their movement.
"Let’s do it in your way, we will be able to minimize victims and save the magic stone, since we don’t have many now."
They couldn’t waste the magic stone and it could be said as the only chance they had.
Abby nodded and then instructed her people to be in their position, Koda had managed to get all of his warriors to come back here too, so did Cane’s people, his gamma had given an order for all the warriors to retreat.
"What about the other shelter?" Iris asked. Earlier Ethan said Jace, Grace and the other were in the other shelter and she was worried about them.
"Once the magic users tried to close the portal, the monsters will be drawn to this place. The other shelter will be fine," Abby replied. "You better join the other people, luna Iris."
Abby felt very bad for this satisfaction feeling she felt because she could do something Iris couldn’t, which meant, she was not that weak to the point someone like Iris could overpower her. This feeling was petty and vindictive, but she couldn’t help it.
"She is right, let’s go join them," Lou said enthusiastically, wanting to take Iris away from here, he was having a headache and needed time to discern the shocking news about Cane.
"Go with Ethan," Cane said, as he caressed Iris’s cheek. He only wanted his mate to be safe.
Not long after that, the magic users started their assignment, this place was covered by transparent shield, which looked stronger than the one, Lou created before.
