Ethan felt a lot better after he talked with Iris. He didn’t have any idea why, but her presence was very calming and even when she didn’t say anything, the fact that she listened to him without judging him was enough for him.

"Fine, I will talk with her. I don’t think I will be able to avoid her for long." Ethan stood up from the chair and then glanced at her stomach. "Can I?" he raised his hand with a grin.

"The baby is sleeping." Iris knew what Ethan meant, he wanted to feel the baby’s movement. The last time, he was ecstatic when he was allowed to feel the baby.

"What a pity..." Ethan sighed, but his eyes lit up again. "We are going to meet with the baby around two months from now, right? Do you have any idea is the baby boy or girl?"

Iris chuckled. "I don’t know."

And after that, they conversed about the baby briefly before Ethan walked out of the room and informed Lou that he could go inside and meet with Iris.

Aliana raised her brows when she heard this, but she crossed her arms stubbornly. "I don’t understand with you, Ethan. Why are you acting like this? Why are you taking his side now?"

Eron and Dyne looked at each other. The other warriors felt like this situation was rather confusing. They didn’t think Lou fell into category of dangerous, but he obviously fell into annoying category. Yet, Ethan and Lou had never seen something eye to eye, but now the gamma took his side.

"Because he saved your life," Ethan replied with a sigh.

"Right! I saved your life, at least, showed some respect to your savior!" Lou chimed in, but Ethan glared at him to not provoke Aliana.

"How could he save my life?" Aliana frowned at Lou and then looked at Ethan. "Why are you acting so weird? Stop avoiding me, I don’t understand with your attitude recently. If you have a problem talk to me."

Ethan stared at Aliana as she rambled about how he ignored her. Was she really dense? Or she just pretended she didn’t know the obvious reason? Ethan had enough.

Amidst Aliana complained, he leaned over and captured her lips. The kiss lasted for less than two seconds, it could be barely called as a kiss, but all of them gasped and froze, as if the winter became even colder and they didn’t know how to react with what they were seeing.

"Stop talking like you don’t understand. You know how I feel, Aliana."

That was the only thing that Ethan said before he strode away, leaving them flabbergasted, especially Aliana. She didn’t even react at all when Lou sneaked into the room and met with Iris, while the other five warriors felt the atmosphere became very awkward. They couldn’t leave, but they didn’t know what to do if they stayed.

But, Iris couldn’t comprehend his logic. "They are scum people, who treated children like that, but so do you for what you have done to them!"

"You are too kind, Iris. That’s not how things work in this world." Lou became frustrated. The sight of her swollen stomach didn’t make him felt better. He didn’t like the fact Iris was pregnant with that jerk of an alpha. "Okay, okay." He threw his arms up. "I will release the children. You can take them with you. Treat this as my gift for your pregnancy."

Iris didn’t feel right to receive such gift, more so, Lou didn’t seem to understand what she meant, he only didn’t want to argue with her.

"Are we fine now?"

Sighing deeply, she took the situation as it was. "Don’t use children for anything like that again."

"Okay."

And after talking about a few trivial things, Iris yawned, she felt sleepy and Lou escorted her back to her bedroom next to this room.

"Do you want me to tuck you in?" Lou asked, in which he received vicious growls from the five warriors behind him. He ignored that and waited for Iris’s answer seriously.

Iris rolled her eyes dramatically when she heard that. "I was about to thank you for what you have done, but maybe I will thank you later when I really meant what I said, because you annoyed me now."

"Ah! You can thank me..." Lou didn’t have time to finish his words when the door was closed and the other five warriors ushered him away. "Ugh! This is annoying!" he grumbled as he walked away.

One week later, Cane, Koda and Grace arrived at the pack house, along with a few warriors and Knights, but to Iris’s surprise, the Serafim came with them too.

"Cane!" Iris immediately approached Cane and hugged her mate tightly, she missed him so bad, because they had been away from each other for so long.

However, she immediately released herself when she saw there were a few people around them, embarrassed.

Cane put her arm around her waist and didn’t seem to be flustered at all, while Laluna stared at their interaction with an incomprehensible gaze, while holding her baby. She had been trying to come close to Iris, but she couldn’t, especially now when Aliana was around.

"The weather is too cold for my mate, I will take her back and get some rest." Cane resigned himself from the people that gathered there.

It was not that Cane didn’t notice how Koda wanted to have a talk with him and how the Serafim wished to have a conversation with Iris.

They supposed to arrive here five days ago, but because the Serafim was adamant to come along, they had to postpone their travel back, so she could come.

Cane thought, he already gave them more than enough and now, he only wanted to be with his mate, but before that, there was another thing he needed to check first.

"Luna, it’s nice to see you again." Grace smiled happily to see how Iris looked healthy and vibrant. Now it had made a public that Iris was pregnant, it was only a matter of time before this good news reached the Howling Wolf pack.

"Grace! I am so happy to see you again!" Iris hugged her and Grace was a little bit surprised by how warm she welcomed her. Iris didn’t notice her before, because Cane immediately took her back to their bedroom.

"Sit down here and let Grace to check on you." Cane glanced at the table, there were a lot of snacks there and Iris noticed what he was seeing.

"Uhm, I am easily hungry recently." Her appetite was good, but she barely could go an hour without eating anything, unless she was sleeping.

Cane said nothing, he caressed her head and waited for Grace to check on her.

"Heaven!" the healer breathed in surprised, which made Cane and Iris became tensed.
