Chapter 693: BLACK RAIN AND DARK SKY (35)
"Alpha Cane, please tell luna Iris, we will give all the diamond and gold that we have, as long as she is willing to help my baby, please, save my baby’s life. I have lost Vemion, I don’t want to lose our baby too." And tear started rolling down her cheek.
Iris wondered if Laluna knew that Cane’s original plan was to let the baby died, would she start vomiting blood? For her to think Cane was that generous, this woman was really blind.
"She can hear you now, you don’t need to talk to me, you can talk directly to her." With that was being said, Cane made it clear that the last decision was on Iris’s hand.
"Alpha Cane, maybe you can give some understanding to luna Iris about the importance of this situation," alpha Colter chimed in, he still directed his words toward Cane, instead of Iris. This stubborn old hag was irksome.
There was an awkward silence that fell after what alpha Colter said and Koda cleared his throat to ease the tension.
"Luna Iris," he called for Iris, not making the same mistake that alpha Colter and Laluna did. "The white diamond tiger is our precious possession, we can’t just give it away. We just lost it as someone stole it and just got it back from Alan. We hope you understand that we can’t give you the creature."
Iris scrunched her nose. "I think your great grandson is not as precious as the white diamond tiger if you don’t want to give it up at all. As it turns out, your precious great grandson, the future king of this continent, is not as important as the rare creature." Iris smiled sarcastically. "Not as important as your flesh and blood, apparently. Not even for the whole plan."
Iris let her anger got the best of her when she replied to Koda and Cane had to remind her to control her emotions. In this game, you couldn’t show your emotions blatantly or else, people would be able to see through you and Iris wouldn’t get the diamond white tiger if they knew she wanted him not for the diamond but out of pity.
Kindness was Iris’s strength, but it was also her weakness.
Meanwhile, the three of them were stunned when Iris put it in that way, it made them looked so bad. After all, the way Iris made comparison between the future king of the kingdom and the white diamond tiger, portrayed them as a cheap and low people.
"I have told you long time ago, my luna has a specific taste." Cane reminded Koda again about their conversation months ago, when he asked for the white diamond tiger and they refused to give it to him.
Well, you could say, Cane would get what he wanted in one way or another...
Iris leaned her head against Cane’s arm, as she closed her eyes. "I am tired, let’s go back and lay down with me." Iris didn’t think she could keep up with her façade for any longer, there was this rage within her heart that was beyond her control.
If she stayed a little bit longer here, it would end up with her gave away her true intention or killed their wolf spirits, neither options would help with Cane’s plan.
"Let’s go back, I am tired. They don’t even want to give me that white diamond tiger." Iris sulked, she pursed her lips and urged Cane to leave.
Her action was unacceptable. If it was their women, Iris would have been beaten up for acting like this. A woman must do what their man said.
Yet, Cane caressed her cheek and then took her hand. "Let’s go," he said gently.
This was the kind of gentleness that left Laluna bewildered of how such brute and cold person like Cane could display such gentleness to a woman? Even Vemion, who was known as a decent prince, who had never raised his voice, had never showed so much affection toward her.
Vemion treated her well, but it didn’t mean he didn’t sleep with another woman. Laluna thought, she was lucky, because if you compared Vemion with other male in royal family, he was like an angel, but then she saw the way Cane looked at Iris and how he treated her, Even Vemion in his most affectionate moment, wouldn’t look at her like the way Cane looked at Iris.
"What we should do now?" Alpha Colter was clearly annoyed.
"Do we have any other options?" Koda clicked his tongue.
On the other hand, once Iris and Cane returned to the safety of their bedroom, Iris immediately turned around and hugged him. She caught Cane off guard, as his back hit the closed door.
Iris buried her face against Cane’s chest, her shoulders were trembling. She was upset and sad at the same time and countless emotions that she couldn’t describe, ran through her mind.
"You have done a good job, Iris," Cane praised her, as he patted her head and let her to cry until she felt a little bit better.
Cane had told her that this road would be very hard, it was not an easy path that he chose, but truly, this was very difficult for Iris.
"I don’t want the baby to die..." Iris said between her tears.
"They will give up soon, we only need to wait." Cane kissed the top of her head. "Good job, Iris."
Iris didn’t think she had done a good job, but she appreciated the comfort that her mate offered. She was really tired and wanted to sleep...
===============================
Laluna sighed when Koda pulled away from her, after he finished inside of her like usual. She immediately wrapped herself with blanket to cover her nakedness, even though a moment earlier they were in the throes of passion with not a single thread between them.
However, once it was done, the shame and humiliation rushed in her veins, she hated herself to end up in this kind of situation with Koda. Yet, she couldn’t stop it, it just happened and it became a thing between them.
"Are you going to hand over the white diamond tiger?" Laluna asked, she averted her gaze from Koda’s lustful eyes, who eyed her body, as if he wanted to devour her again.
Unfortunately, or rather fortunately for Laluna, Koda and alpha Colter needed to go to meet with Cane and Iris, as they didn’t have other option, but to hand over the white diamond tiger to the luna, which pissed them off.
It was kind of an insult for them to bend down to a woman’s wish. If it was what Cane wanted, they wouldn’t feel this humiliated.
"Yes, after the dinner." Koda clicked his tongue and put on his clothes.
Koda came toward Laluna and put her in his lap, as he kissed her lips down to her neck and lay her down again. He couldn’t take his hands off her and even though they wouldn’t have time to go all the way down, he still could touch her, every inch of her skin...
Once Koda was done with Laluna and it was time for him to leave, he tidied himself and left the room, while Laluna stared at the ceiling with emotionless expression.
==========================
Haco was in and out of his consciousness, but this time, his mind was lucid enough to understand his predicament, as he looked around him and fixed his eyes on Celia, who was still laying on his chest. Blood was oozing out from her mouth and nose, but she was still breathing even though it was very faint.
"Haco... wake up..."
Haco groaned. The voice kept calling his name, but it was very dark and he couldn’t figure out, whose voice was that.
"Haco... wake up... please, wake up. We will die..."
They were going to die?
Based on their current situation seemed like it was something that would happen.
Haco groaned, he tried to move Celia’s body from his chest gently, the little girl’s body was burning, she was still alive, but barely. Her illness must have worsened with their situation right now.
"Who... is that?" Haco breathed raggedly and he could hear a sigh of relief because he finally responded. "Where... are you?"
Haco checked on Celia, but there was nothing he could do with her condition, his magic was not suitable to handle her plight.
"Here... follow my voice, Haco..."
Haco groaned when he moved his body, he was a little bit hesitated when he had to leave Celia, but he didn’t have strength to carry her. This place was suffocating.
"Come here, Haco..."
Haco finally could distinguish the sound and follow it, his eyesight was so bad, so in this darkness he couldn’t see anything, but Joel could. He could see his figure was approaching him, as he kept directing the old sorcerer.
"I am glad you are fine..." Joel said in small, exhausted voice. "What about Celia?"
Haco narrowed his brows. "She is fine... how do you know her?"
This was the worst timing for Haco to have his episode.
"Haco, please, you need to get us out of here..." Joel said. "Aliana lost so much blood, she will not make it if we don’t get her a healer, this place is suffocating, we are under the rubbles of rock."
Somehow, in the last second, Haco managed to create a protection around them, but it didn’t prevent them from being buried underneath.
"You can feel it right? There is no air current here, it is suffocating..." Joel said hastily.
