"What is that?" Lou frowned because his conversation with Cane was cut short and then found a young boy tried to make his way toward Cane. "Did you owe money to that boy?" he blurted out nonsense.

Cane waved his hand to dismiss Lou, as he approached Zale, who was being held back by Dean and Pax, the two of them were his newly appointed personal warrior for the alpha, since Will and Aderan couldn’t fill the role.

"Alpha, I am sorry, I will take him away." Dean looked apologetic, while trying to drag Zale away.

"No, I don’t want to go back, I want to talk with him!" Zale protested.

"Show your respect to the alpha!" Pax reprimanded him.

Cane stared at the young boy, who was struggling and growling at the other two warriors. He was right when he told him that he needed to control his anger, because right now, it would cause him a lot of trouble. This kind of act would get his ass to be punished.

"Let him go," Cane said when Zale was about to bite Dean’s hand.

"Pardon me?" Dean and pax looked at the alpha, thinking they misheard the order.

"Let him go. I am going to talk with him," Cane repeated it more clearly this time.

However, a certain merchant was not happy about it, because in his opinion, they were in the middle of discussing business when this silly young boy interrupted them. "Hey! What about me?!"

Cane didn’t even spare Lou a glance when he spoke. "You know what to do, now do it."

Lou wanted to scratch his scalp until it was bleeding because of how frustrated he was right now. Why it always ended up like this?!

It hurt his ego to admit that he needed clearer instruction, since he understood perfectly, but it vexed him to no end that their enjoyable discussion was stopped abruptly. There were a lot of things that Lou wanted to know and more so, he was intrigued to know more the way Cane’s mind was working. What kind of malicious schemes he had under his sleeves!

"Fine! Go ahead and play with that little boy!" Lou waved his hand angrily, as he begrudgingly turned around and left. He was busy, okay? He had a lot of things to do! But then, he felt very annoyed because all he was going to do was instructed by Cane! He couldn’t understand why he ended up in this position.

Maybe he had to listen to Sabian more because that old man had been warning him about Cane, but he simply didn’t want to listen, as he thought he was cleverer than this alpha. There was no way he fell into his trick!

But the truth, not only he fell into his trick, he was buried too deep to even get up!

After Lou stormed out annoyingly with his red cloak fluttered in the air, which made him looked very bright and eyes catching among the other warriors, who were covered in dust and dirt, Cane shifted his attention to Zale, waving his hand to dismiss Dean and Pax.

"Why do you want to associate with that tacky man? He was trying to flirt with the luna!" Zale complained the first thing he said when he got the alpha’s attention. This young boy had big guts, which could be a blessing or a problem in the future.

"What do you want?" Cane asked, he crossed his arms in front of his chest, as he observed Zale closely. His physic had gotten better after good food, sleep and training, but his personality got even worst.

Cane wanted to know more about him. He would decide whether he could stay by his mate’s side or not. The alpha even dismissed the fact he had been disrespected by this young boy.

However, he liked how he could tell that Lou had been trying to flirt with Iris right away. From what he knew, Zale only met with the merchant once and he already showed a strong disliked, which was a good point for Cane.

"You told me to look for you when you have free time." Zale looked at Cane in the eyes without any fear.

"What made you think that I have free time now?" Cane was having a discussion with Lou earlier. His time was not free, even if he had it, he would rather spend it with Iris.

"You don’t have free time for me, that’s why I demanded it now," Zale blurted out and this made Dean and Pax gasped. They couldn’t believe the alpha had not yet kicked his little ass yet. "You promised to teach me!"

Zale’s height only a little bit higher than Cane’s elbow, he was only a head shorter than Iris, but the way he spoke, as if he was on the same position like the alpha.

"Are you going back on your promise?" Zale asked. His little face hardened.

Cane heard he had been trained by Zephyr and learned how to read and write from Iris. He was a fast learner and probably this was the right time to see how fast he could learn.

"Fine. Let’s train you." Cane’s voice was cold and this made Dean and Pax looked at each other, wondering what the alpha was going to do with this young boy, because from the look on his face, this wouldn’t end up good for Zale.

"Why haven’t you slept yet?" Cane approached Iris on the bed, he kissed her lips gently, while Aliana excused herself.

After a long day, he only wanted to be with his mate and it was a pleasant surprised that she was still awake, though he would prefer her to be rested well.

"I am waiting for you," Iris said sheepishly, as she wrapped her arms round his neck and pulled him closer to her.

"Be careful," Cane said softly, as he put his arms on the side of her body, afraid his body weigh would fall on her.

However, Iris couldn’t care less about that, she looked very happy and energetic, Grace had done a great job to keep her health in check and now, the healer visited her every day. Still, the news about her pregnancy was a secret. It was not safe to announce it yet.

Not even Jace knew about it.

"I want to show you something!" Iris said excitedly.

"Hm, what is it?" Cane felt relax when he saw her smile and looked happy. It was great if she was in a good mood.

Outside of their bedroom, Lil Thing became new favorite member of Iris’s personal warrior, as they observed the bear closely and wondered how could this creature was able to sleep all day and night, but became extremely ferocious once in a fight mode.

"Take me there!" Iris chuckled, as she tightened her hug around his neck and wrapped her legs around his waist.

"Did you hurt your feet?"

"No. I am just tired."

She wanted him to pick her up, too lazy to walk. Well, she was only being overly clingy lately, since she didn’t meet him as often as she wanted.

Cane chuckled as well and swooped her body, as he straightened up and walked toward the spot Iris pointed. He put both of his arms under her bums to support her.

Iris wanted him to go to near the window, where her lizard was still sleeping and now this lizard had grown in size, the color of its scale had turned into yellowish color.

Iris wriggled her body and Cane put her down. "Look!" She grabbed the lizard, which woke it up and then she fished out something from her pocket, let the lizard to sniff it for a while. After that, she threw the poor lizard into the fireplace. "Come with me!"

Iris grabbed Cane’s hand this time to head out of their bedroom, but Cane picked her body up again, which made her squalled and looked at him in confusion.

"I thought, you are tired. Tell me where do you want to go." Cane carried her in his arms this time and had the satisfaction to watch how she blushed.

"There are the warriors outside, there are many people." Iris didn’t mind to act clingy and childish when it was only the two of them, but she would be embarrassed if Cane walked out of the bedroom, while carrying her.

"I am aware of that."

And with that was being said, Cane walked out of the room with Iris in his arms. His mate hid her face against his chest when she felt there were seven pair of eyes fixed on her and many more, as they walked in this corridor.
