The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter -
Chapter 558: THE FABRICATION STORY
Chapter 558: THE FABRICATION STORY
"You know Decratic?" Actually, Koda was not really sure what he was talking about, but this was Cane’s instruction. Since his pointers always made things easier for them, he followed this one as well. "I brought the bodies of the dead royal warriors who had been infused with dark magic before their death. You may check."
"What do you mean? How do you know about Decratic?" Abby stood up from her seat. The information on Decratic was not something that was open to people outside of the Holy Kingdom, since it would cause a ruckus and the practice of black magic would go out of hand.
The matters in this continent were way more serious than they thought.
On the other hand, Koda was also surprised to see Serafim’s strong reaction. What kind of secrets and informations that the Alpha from the Howling Wolf pack held? How could he gather so many resources when he just managed to free himself and his people less than a year ago?
Despite what he felt, Koda kept his calm. Alpha Colter also didn’t show anything on his expression, as if they were talking about a trivial matter.
"Explain yourself!" Abby said sternly, her blue eyes flashed with impatience because Koda stopped talking before explaining how he knew about Decratic.
Feigning frustration, Koda sighed deeply, as if he was very reluctant to talk about this. "My dear grandson was killed by the lycan, and as it turned out, he was being sacrificed for the resurrection of Decratic. The five alphas in the south joined hands with the Crown Prince to summon the lycan. Thankfully, Alpha Cane managed to stop them and execute them all before more sacrifices were made."
Abby and the others had heard about the lycan, but Koda’s explanation didn’t answer her question. He only gave unnecessary details about what happened in the south. "How is it related to the fact that you know about Decratic?" Abby narrowed her eyes, her whole body was so tense.
"When I was in the palace, I heard a conversation between Prince Alan and Lady Cyan, they were talking about summoning the lycan and the resurrection of Decratic. But because I was a little bit too far, I couldn’t hear their conversation so well, but one sentence that stuck with me was what Lady Cyan said; ’we need to kill the Serafim in order to resurrect Decratic.’ And Prince Alan replied that he would lure you to come to this continent."
The five knights behind the Serafim clenched their jaws and grinded their molars. It was a threat for the Serafim and if it was proven to be true, the Holy Kingdom had every right to execute the King for the intention alone.
Serafim was the most important person in this realm, since she was the only person who held such immense power, which was not limited by magic stones. All the magic users needed the magic stones to support their power, but it wasn’t the case with the Serafim.
She was an embodiment of justice and kindness in this world, the balance to the Decratic, as both entities stood on the opposite sides of the scale. You need to keep the scale in balance in order for this realm to be able to work.
"However, just like you are seeing, nothing seemed to go according to their plan and now that this has happened, the kingdom has been split. There are two groups." Koda didn’t need to give a long explanation about who the two groups were, since in his eyes, his enemies were only those in the capital city and with a lot of aid that Alpha Cane gave to them, of course, he assumed he was on their side.
But, the question was; did Koda really overhear the conversation between lady Cyan and prince Alan? Of course, the answer was ’no’. The story was fabricated and the mastermind behind it was absolutely not Koda or Alpha Colter.
Cane wanted to know more about Decratic because it was getting hard to have a conversation with Haco, since he forgot a lot of things and because he had left the Holy Kingdom long back, it was difficult for me to recall many things while he did not keep tabs on what happened there during those five decades since he left.
But, once again, Cane displayed how cunning he could be because he didn’t serve by himself, instead he used Koda, making it appear as if the Beta knew all of those things, so when there was a repercussion, it wouldn’t be Cane, who would take the brunt.
"Serafim, I am not here to cloud your judgment, but I feel like I have an obligation to tell you the truth about what was happening in this continent." After such an advance, Koda retreated, so he wouldn’t appear too hard before these people from the Holy Kingdom.
After all, Koda had lived through a lot of adversities, he knew how to handle a situation like this. You had to know when to retreat, it was as important as to know when you had to advance.
"I want justice for my grandson that had been killed brutally as the sacrifice for the lycan and my great grandson’s rights. He was crowned by the previous king as the next in line for the throne on the sixth day he was born. You hold justice for this realm and I am here looking for the same."
Koda played his role as a loving grandfather, who only wanted justice and to make things right, well. He then added more to show how benevolent he was.
"I don’t care about who sits on the throne now, as long as it’s not the son of that dark witch, the very person, who has lured the Serafim to this continent to kill her, in order to resurrect the Decratic."
Abby narrowed her eyes. She didn’t say anything for a while. "Do you know what Decratic is?" She was not sure how much this shifter knew about the information that should be guarded closely back in the Holy Kingdom.
"I am not sure, but if I can say, Decratic is the opposite of you." Cane had prepared this answer for him. "Enlighten me, if I am wrong."
Of course, Abby wouldn’t give him an explanation. She didn’t say if he was right or wrong, even though there were a lot of missing points in Koda’s story.
Killing a Serafim wouldn’t help resurrect Decratic, that was not how it worked, but the fact Koda knew a lot of things that he shouldn’t, was enough to make Abby think about this matter deeply and take it seriously.
"We need to put an end to a tyrant sovereign. Having people who practice dark magic to sit on the throne is a disaster."
Koda’s aim was clear. He wanted to get all the support he needed, especially after his defeat and having the Holy Kingdom on their corner would just be perfect.
=========================
The ambush by the Silver Warriors didn’t leave any casualties on the Howling Wolf pack’s side, but the members of the Silver River pack that happened to be there had to sustain serious wounds, especially children and because their healing ability had not yet developed well, Grace had to come and cast healing power on them, or else, they would have died from blood loss.
When Iris heard that, she felt so worried and wanted to go and see for herself that Cane was alright, but Aliana didn’t allow her. There was a high chance there would be a second attack and Cane would go ballistic if he saw his mate with no protection in the middle of such chaos. Aliana didn’t even want to imagine how the Alpha would lose it on them.
In the end, Iris understood and waited not so patiently in the pack house.
Currently, they were living in the pack house of the Silver River pack. This building looked very luxurious and spelled out how well off Alpha Gian was, despite his pack’s members living in poverty and being barely able to feed their stomachs on a day by day basis.
Iris was sitting on the lower stairs, as she waited for Cane, staring at the door and when she heard the rhythmic clip- clops, she immediately stood up and rushed toward the front door and found Cane had just dismounted his horse.
Without thinking twice, Iris immediately rushed toward him and hugged him tightly, she almost knocked the Alpha off of his feet. Thankfully, even in his subconsciousness, he didn’t feel Iris’ presence as a threat, so her sudden action didn’t alert him.
If it was someone else, he would have attacked them without even thinking twice or figuring out who it was first.
"Are you okay?" Iris asked, she lifted her head and checked on Cane. She didn’t see any injuries, though there were a few bloodstains here and there, overall he was fine.
"Don’t you think you asked the wrong person?" Ethan asked, as he dismounted his horse beside Cane’s. "Such a battle is nothing to the Alpha. You should have asked me instead."
Iris frowned at Ethan, but she saw he was fine, though a little bit messy, he was fine, alive and a little bit annoying.
"I am fine," Cane said, as he put his arm around her hips and escorted her into the pack house. "Don’t go out. It’s not safe out there." The Silver Warriors had become a headache now. Cane was considering leaving this pack and starting their journey to the Diandem pack and see if that pack was worth saving, since there was nothing to be reconsidered here.
