The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter
Chapter 478: NEW MOON (2)

Chapter 478: NEW MOON (2)

Iris thought she would find herself in another memory of the first Serafim again, but when she saw Eron, she knew the long dream had ended and with this newly found knowledge about the past, she felt so dispirited, as Na’s sadness and helplessness affected her so greatly.

It was so crazy to think that the first Serafim, someone who should have protected this realm from Decratic, was actually the reason why the evil creature could be revived once again and bring the same chaos like what happened more than five hundred years ago over this realm.

The story would repeat once again.

"Luna, are you okay?" Eron helped her to sit down and this snapped Iris back to reality.

She felt like she was still dreaming, since her dream felt so real and she knew what kind of consequences that Na must go through after her impulsive decision. Her sadness and longing for Lu was so clear, and those were the purest emotions that Iris had ever felt.

No matter how ridiculous it sounded and how many hells she had to go through, she still wanted to meet Lu for one last time.

But, all Iris had was only her memories and... her power? Iris was not sure about that. The connection she had with Na, was nothing like how the lycan attached his soul to Cane.

"Where is Cane?" Iris asked, she shook her head to get her clarity back.

"The Alpha is the lycan," Oliver said sternly. It was not a question, but a statement, his expression was so stern, you could see how he clenched his jaw uncomfortably, though the cave was so dim. "Do you know about that?"

Iris remembered what happened before she fell unconscious, the lycan must have come out and they witnessed it with their own eyes.

After what she did to Cane, it was not strange to see the lycan come out even if it was not the new moon. Somehow, she had disrupted the order.

"Yes." Iris lifted her head and looked Oliver in the eyes, but when she wanted to say something again, she frowned. She could see it and it shocked her.

Iris could see Oliver’s wolf spirit!

She didn’t know how to do it before, but right now, it came to her naturally. As naturally as breathing. She looked around her and to her utter disbelief, she could see each of their wolf spirits.

It was like a wisp that rested on their shoulders, in shapes and colors of their own beasts. As strange as it might be, Iris felt calm enough not to show any emotions on her face. She composed herself well for someone, who was overwhelmed by a lot of information at once. She felt like she was being drowned by the thousands of questions in her mind.

On the other hand, hearing Iris’ confirmation, all of them gasped loudly, as they frowned their brows in disbelief.

"No way..." Eron muttered.

"The Alpha will explain more about it," Iris said and pushed herself off the ground, she wanted to see Cane. She wanted to make sure he was fine.

The first Serafim’s emotions still lingered, thus Iris knew how much pain she would be in if something bad happened to Cane.

Lu was strong enough to protect his vessel and that was the only comfort Iris had.

"Luna, how long have you known about this?" Oliver asked. He grabbed Iris’ hand to stop her from leaving the cave, while the other three warriors were still reeling from that revelation. "What happened to Alpha Cane? Is it because he saved you before, he is cursed to be a lycan too?"

In Oliver’s mind, the first lycan and Cane were two different entities and he still entertained the idea that the Alpha was actually cursed when he tried to save Iris when she was kidnapped by the lycan before.

No. Now, Oliver thought about this, Iris had been kidnapped by the lycan twice. What did it mean?

"The lycan you saw the first time it appeared in the Howling Wolf pack and the lycan in the rumors, also the lycan that appeared in the palace, all of them were the same. And it was Cane." Cane would explain this sooner or later, there was no way to hide this fact anymore. And also regarding what he would do to them... Iris just hoped they would accept this just like how Redmond and Grace did.

"There is no way the Alpha is the lycan!" Oliver was still in denial. He didn’t want to accept that fact. That was not the truth and explanation he was looking for.

"If you don’t want to believe me, no matter what I say will not have any effect on you," Iris said calmly, she looked so different, as if something had shifted inside her, becoming different from that timid luna they knew. "I am going to look for Cane, all of you can stay here if you want."

This was not the time to ponder over that matter. They really needed to get their priorities straight.

"Luna, I am going with you!" Eron said, as he stood up and rushed toward Iris’ side, so did Dyne.

But, Dean and Oliver still stayed in their place. They still had not decided what they were going to do.

"Luna Iris, how long have you known about this?"

Iris turned around and stared Oliver right in his eyes, she could see his wolf spirit become restless, which meant he was having an internal turmoil between his mind and heart.

The knowledge about it came naturally to Iris, as if she had studied about this somewhere.

"I have known about this since the very beginning," Iris replied curtly. She knew it was not right to feel so petty for knowing something about Cane that they didn’t, especially when in their minds, they knew their alpha more than her, but she couldn’t help it.

When Iris was about to walk away again, Oliver called for her one more time. "Were you the reason for the Alpha to become the lycan?"

"I have nothing to do with that. Cane has been a lycan even before we met." Iris didn’t want to explain that part. She would let Cane decide how he wanted to tell the story.

But, because of the tension and how disoriented they were with this whole revelation, no one noticed how Iris interacted with Oliver without even turning her body around and reading his lips.

Once Iris stepped outside, she could see that the dark wisp had covered the sky, but you could still see the bright moon through it, while the monsters ran rampant below them.

"The Alpha is there, the sorcerer created a barrier around them. There are so many monsters, Luna, that’s why we can’t approach them to help. It will be dangerous if we..." Eron had not yet finished his sentence when Iris started walking in their direction. "Luna, it’s dangerous! There are so many monsters out there!"

"It’s okay," Iris said calmly. "Can you help me get down? My dress makes it hard for me to climb down."

Eron was stunned. Was this the same luna they had known? She actually wanted to go over to those monsters? Did she hurt her head so badly into thinking she could actually find even a goblin?

"Luna! You can’t go over there!" Dyne said worriedly. "We don’t think we can protect you from those monsters! The Alpha will be so mad if something happens to you!"

They refused to help Iris to climb down the hill and this made Iris very unhappy.

===============================

"Something is completely wrong with your people!" Jace said to Redmond, as they shifted back into their human form to communicate, since it was hard for them to talk with each other when they were in their beast form. "There was no way they were this strong!"

Redmond was irritated, on any other occasion, he would take offense when Jace said something that indicated his men were weak, but right now, he could only agree with the Beta.

His men and the royal warriors were ridiculously strong. Whether it was their speed, their healing ability or their strength, they excelled in all aspects, making themselves look like new warriors that fought against the real ones.

There were so many people who had died and it was only a matter of time before they could ransack the Howling Wolf pack and kill their pack members.

Right now, all the people had been evacuated to a safe place, but Jace couldn’t find his sister and this bothered him. Aliana was in charge of evacuating the people in the orphanage.

"Dark magic. I am sure it has something to do with dark magic," Redmond said.

Having a long journey with Cane and being exposed to a lot of incidents involving dark magic that happened around that period of time, made him think about it the first thing Jace pointed out the obvious difference in strengths between them.

"What do you mean?"

"They shouldn’t be able to shift into their beasts if they consume Rottingbane regularly, but when they are not even able to shift into their beast, but still became so strong... it must have something to do with dark magic, you can’t rule out the possibility!"

But right at that time, they could hear a long howl, followed by the others, it was a signal from the other warriors that their enemy managed to force themselves into their pack.

And needless to say, there were so many of them, their number almost the same as in the beginning of the battle, as they were barely able to be killed.
