Chapter 475: I ONLY WANT TO HEAR HIS VOICE
Chapter 475: I ONLY WANT TO HEAR HIS VOICE
Haco held this young boy’s hand, as he kept mumbling things about his sister incoherently. It seemed, she was the only person that he cared and worried about the most, even in his last breath.
"Don’t worry, young man, I will look after your sister, you can rest now," Haco said in a comforting tone, patting his shoulder to ease him. "I will tell your sister how brave you are, you can go on your long mission now."
With that, the young warrior’s breathing became even and gradually, he breathed his last, while Haco held his hand.
Though his life was so short and he was so much worried about his little sister, Haco was there to make sure he didn’t die alone and he knew that his sister would be taken care of.
Haco felt so helpless. He should have killed the beast sooner, but their enemy moved so fast and he couldn’t keep up with his movements, especially when he felt like he grew weaker and weaker by the day.
The old sorcerer used to live on his own, thus to have this kind of attachment to someone else made him realize how lonely and alone his life had been in the past five decades. It didn’t mean he regretted it, but it showed him how to be human again and have someone to care for.
Haco took off his cloak and put it on his body, before he continued to walk ahead and find Cane. He suppressed his sadness.
In the end, there was nothing he could do to change the outcome. This young warrior fought bravely. He deserved so much more, so did those people, who died in battles.
With difficulty, Haco moved closer toward the source where this black wisp appeared, and he saw a person he thought he would never see again there.
"Zeke?" Haco called his name in disbelief, but his voice was too weak and this person was too preoccupied in performing his dark magic on the Alpha to be able to notice his presence.
Zeke was his senior in the Holy Kingdom when Haco was still a sorcerer there. They were so close at that time, as they became like brothers to each other.
More than fifty years had passed now and their appearances had changed, but Haco still managed to recognize him at a glance.
Never in his wildest imagination did he think Zeke would become a dark sorcerer. He was the most brilliant young sorcerer at that time and it was an honor for Haco to be close to him.
Too shocked to react, Haco didn’t get to his task immediately, as he stared at his senior in the distance, while the Alpha was still kneeling on the ground not too far.
Right at that time, all of them were startled when they heard the loud sound of footsteps in the distance. From the sound of it, you could tell, there were more than five creatures that dashed toward this direction. Their heavy footsteps also disclosed that they were not just any ordinary creatures, as the ground literally started shaking.
They were most likely monsters, but of course, not the small ones....
"Oh, shit! What now?!" Haco cursed under his breath when he watched the vague figures of Geromine and Vermeyes among the trees, as the latter’s head appeared on top of the trees in the midst of the black wisp. "Shit! Shit!"
Haco immediately rushed toward Cane and performed his own magic. He pushed back the thousands of questions in his mind about the reason why Zeke was here and what he was doing to Cane. Did he know about the lycan in him?
==================================
Iris felt like she lived in flashes of memories, as she walked through one after another, she felt like she revived some lost memories she had never had.
"Serafim... how can you do that?" Rei was in disbelief, he looked at the woman in front of him and was not sure how to feel and what to do upon hearing the revelation from her. "You shouldn’t have done that... you know that’s against nature."
Na lowered her head, she was so ashamed of her actions, she didn’t dare to look Rei in the eyes. Tears streamed down her face and the sight made Rei feel even more helpless, as he felt his heart soften.
"You actually created a chance for Decratic to revive, you know that, right?"
"I know." Na’s voice was so low, it sounded like a whisper, but in this empty room, with only the two of them, it was loud and clear enough for Rei to understand what kind of great offense the Serafim had committed.
"Na, you know that after what you have done, there will be other Serafims that appear, until Decratic is destroyed completely, only then the cycle will stop." Rei only wanted to make sure that she understood the consequences of her actions.
"I know." Na’s voice was shaking.
"The Serafim that comes after you will not be as powerful as you, Na... you know that."
Na nodded, she felt even more ashamed and guilty when Rei clearly stated the consequences of her reckless and impulsive decision.
"In that case, how can the future Serafims destroy the Decratic?" Rei looked helpless and frustrated, he wanted to hug her tightly to ease her pain, but it was not appropriate for him to do so. He cared for her more than anything else in this world, more than the Holy Kingdom itself.
He would be more than willing to go to hell if that was her order.
This level of loyalty was something that Na could really get from him, that was why she confessed this deepest and darkest action that she had ever done as a Serafim to him. She didn’t have the strength to bear it alone.
"Why are you putting yourself in this situation?"
"I want to hear his voice. I only want to hear his voice..."
