The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter -
Chapter 473: UNREST
Chapter 473: UNREST
’He is not my sweet moon’s type.’
Once again, Lu irked Cane with his comment. It disgusted the Alpha that this cursed creature actually gave his mate a pet name.
However, this was not the right time for that, since Cane could see how the dark wisp had covered the sky and it almost felt like the day had turned night from all the darkness.
How long would it last? Cane groaned because Lu chose to lay dormant at a time like this. He was not sure why the lycan pulled back when this old man told him to do so.
Because of the darkness, the forest had turned very eerie, it was exceptionally quiet, as if everything went still and the time stopped ticking.
’Don’t you intend to do something?’ Cane asked. It would take forever if he had to wait until that dark sorcerer drained all of his power in order to try to extract Lu from him. He needed to find Iris, though she was with those four warriors, it still didn’t sit well with Cane to not be close with her.
’I am doing something,’ Lu said simply.
’I will not tell you.’ If he had not been just a soul without a body, onr would have been able to see the smug look on his face. ’It will be fun...’
=============================
Aliana fought at least three beasts at the same time, while the other seven young beasts took one of the warriors that chased after them.
There were around eleven to twelve Blue Moon warriors that managed to catch up to them.
’Damn it! What is Ethan doing? Why are there so many beasts that managed to catch up to us?!’ Aliana thought to herself, irritated, but in truth, she was worried something really bad happened to the Gamma.
Or did the Blue Moon warriors also split into two groups, just like them to take precaution? After all, they had learned a thing or two about their strategies.
It was pretty obvious how the young beasts lacked fighting experience, as it didn’t take long for them to be overwhelmed, but they didn’t back down at all. They were snarling and growling at their opponents, who had bigger bodies than them.
Not to mention they were at an advantage, since they could communicate with each other through mindlink, which was something that the warriors from the Howling Wolf pack couldn’t do, so their attack was way more coordinated.
Blood was everywhere and with the sky covered by dark wisp, the fight looked even more vicious with the thick smell of blood in the air.
Two young beasts had died and three of the Blue Moon pack’s warriors lost their lives in Haco’s hands, while the others were still fighting their attackers.
The sorcerer looked so distraught to see this dark wisp, as he was torn between staying behind to help them all in this fight and rushing toward Cane, the source of this dark wisp.
However, he couldn’t use all the magic stones he had, since he would be useless without them, even if he could reach Cane. Without his power, he was only an ordinary human. As a magic user, they were very dependent on magic stones and this was one of their setbacks. They didn’t have unlimited power, unlike the ones with divine power, which only belonged to the Serafim.
"Damn it! Can’t they just die?!" Haco was frustrated. He used too much of his magic stones in this battle to help, thus soon, he would be rendered useless.
One of the young warriors with blood coating his fur came to him and bit his hand lightly, as if telling him to follow him.
"What about the others?!" Haco was frustrated, yet the young beast was persistent for him to detach himself from this battle.
Thinking they could handle the rest of the attackers and right now Cane’s matter regarding this black wisp was way more urgent, Haco followed the young beast to get away from there.
He knew it must be the lycan. Something must have happened to the lycan and Haco dreaded thinking the worst.
"Hey... don’t run too fast... I am too old... to sprint with you..." Haco was panting, he felt so exhausted, his old body had only gotten more and more weaker.
He hated to admit it, but it seemed what the lycan said was right, he didn’t have a long time left, since the cursed creature was no longer part of him.
"Boy, slow down... I can’t run as fast as you... I am so old for this..."
The young beast stopped, whimpering, as he looked around in frustration, worried their attackers would catch up to them. He knew he was not the best warrior out there and he was barely able to defend himself against his attackers.
The young beast nudged Haco’s hip, gesturing for him to ride him.
"No way... you are drenched in blood." Yet, Haco changed his mind immediately when this young beast growled, irritated. "Okay, okay."
Carrying someone in their beast form meant the beast had complete trust in the other person, since they would be in a vulnerable state as they would expose their neck to someone else, since the beast allowed them to wrap their arms around their neck. It was a forbidden gesture, almost like a sin for a shifter.
Clumsily, Haco climbed the beast’s back and grimaced when his fur felt slippery from all the blood.

"What are you staring at?" A young man, who looked so refined, approached a young woman, who had been staring at the sky in the distance. Today was a bright day and the sunlight was scorching hot, yet this young woman didn’t seem to care much about that.
"Something is going on in this continent, I can feel it," she said in a small voice. Her hair fluttered in the wind, a bright color of red and she looked so pale.
"You need to come inside, this sea wind is not good for your body," he said, a thick concern laced in his voice.
The two of them were standing on the deck of the vessel, which had carried them across the sea for a week now. They would arrive in the Ogregon Continent soon.
"You shouldn’t have come personally here, you know." He took her hand and despite his rough appearance with the huge sword on his hip and the armor that covered his body, he was extremely gentle with her. He touched her carefully, as if she would break, if he was not being careful enough. "You could have sent one of us to deal with this mess."
The young woman smiled warmly. "You don’t need to worry. After all, I have done nothing since I got this title," she said, but her blue eyes dimmed when she continued. "I am the weakest Serafim in history. I have not yet accomplished anything."
"Stop saying that, Abby," the young man looked dissatisfied with her statement. He would only call her by her name when it was only the two of them, otherwise, it would be counted as him being disrespectful. "You are sick, no one should complain about that."
"I feel like being sick is one of my favorite excuses," she mumbled under her breath. She had heard that for as long as she could remember and she grew sick of it too.
"Don’t think too much and rest, we will arrive soon. You need to take care of your body," he said gently. He led her to her bedroom.
"Okay..." Abby nodded weakly, but once it was only the two of them inside the room, she turned around and wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed his lips.
"Abby!" He called her name with a mixture of warning and helplessness. "There are so many people on this ship."
"But, it’s only the two of us inside this room, Liam," Abby retorted and then frowned. "You don’t want to?"
Liam gritted his teeth. He knew it was forbidden for them to have this sinful relationship, if someone learned about this, they would be separated and obviously, there would be no chance for them to ever meet with each other again.
But...
"You know I always want you, Abby..." Liam sighed and kissed her back.
===============================
There were countless eyes that watched how everything unfolded so quickly. They didn’t have time to react, nor did they see this coming.
At first, they thought Redmond would go with the warrior from his pack, betray the Howling Wolf pack and Jace was ready to put the blame on himself for he trusted Redmond so much, especially after he hugged it out with Lyle and the other warrior looked so happy to accept his commander back.
However, the next thing that happened was unthinkable, because once Lyle turned around and had his back to Redmond, the latter pierced his back with his claws and crushed his heart, before he pulled his back bone out of his body.
The force must be so great and not everyone could do such horrifying things like Redmond could. Hell, even Jace didn’t know how to do such a brutal thing to his opponent.
Within a second, Lyle’s body went limp and he dropped dead to the ground, while Redmond had his spine in his hand. He stared down disdainfully at his ex second in command.
"I told you not to turn your back against your opponent. You never listen."
And that was the cue to start the unrest, as the royal warriors led the rest of the Blue Moon pack warriors to charge forward, while Redmond was still standing so close to their enemy.
