Kaz was taken aback by the animosity Iris displayed. She didn’t say anything earlier and he thought that, because she couldn’t understand the conversation or because of her soft nature, she rarely spoke up.

However, seeing how she was seething right now made Kaz flinch. For a moment, he was afraid of her.

Even Hanna was surprised her kind- hearted missy could be this fierce, but she was also happy. Her missy finally became so brave to stand up for herself.

"Lu- luna Iris," Kaz stuttered, but then he cleared his throat and straightened his back, as if he was trying to get back his control. "Luna, the Alpha will be beyond mad if he knew that you entered his room without permission, let alone sleep there."

It was well known that Cane hated when someone else stepped into his bedroom, even Aria was not allowed to sleep there after their intimate moment, let alone Iris. In their eyes, the two of them were together only because of the circumstances that forced them to.

"How can you believe the woman is pregnant with the Alpha’s child when she is the former mistress of another alpha?!"

Kaz’s face darkened. Deep down, he knew there was that possibility, but then Alpha Cane had never denied it. "If that’s not the Alpha’s child, then why didn’t he deny it?"

"The fact the Alpha didn’t say anything about it, means they slept together and there was a high chance it’s indeed his child!" Kaz snapped back to see he got on her nerves. "Maybe the Luna is not pregnant yet, not because she is taking Dragonheart to prevent it, but because she doesn’t have the ability." Kaz didn’t say it in a vicious tone, but more like he contemplated the idea.

"I will tell the Alpha about what you said!" Hanna growled at him.

Hearing that, Kaz chuckled. "Don’t worry, I will tell him that myself. After all, I need to explain to him why there is a woman inside his bedroom. You can attend to her."

After saying that, Kaz walked away with the intention of telling Cane about all this, while Hanna stood there, dumbstruck. When the seriousness of the situation finally sank in, she wondered if the Alpha would really take her missy’s side over his people.

With that, she went into the bedroom and told Iris everything that happened, yet she didn’t say anything about the hurtful things Kaz had said about her, like why Iris had not yet gotten pregnant.

"It’s okay. I am tired. I want to sleep. Can you ask someone to move my things here?" Iris looked tired, her mood dour. She could feel this tightness in her chest ever since she entered the pack, as if the atmosphere here had drained her energy, probably because she was being sensitive as they were very polite to her and she could feel the distance they put between her and themselves.

And from the way Kaz acted just now, she knew it would be a lot of work if she wanted them to accept her and she was not sure if she wanted to keep up with them.

At this point, she thought living in the Riverside pack was a better choice, since the members of that pack welcomed her.

"Are you sure, Miss? You want me to bring all your belongings here?"

Iris nodded.

"Alpha, you don’t like women in your bedroom," Kaz said with bewilderment.

At that, Cane finally shifted his attention to his steward and talked calmly to him, but his tone was very firm. "She is my woman and you will treat her as the Luna she is."

Kaz widened his eyes in disbelief upon hearing what the Alpha said. He even forgot to mention Sofia, while the Alpha acted like the pregnant woman didn’t even exist in the first place.
