The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter
Chapter 388: THE WRATH OF THE ALPHA

Chapter 388: THE WRATH OF THE ALPHA

’I will protect you within the shadows of the dark. I will always be with you. I will find you no matter where you are. You are mine to protect, you are mine to love. Even when death tears us apart, I will find you again.’

This was the first time for Iris to hear someone’s voice, saying a long sentence that she could hear. His voice was so deep and solemn, as if he was saying a sacred and beautiful vow to her. She was even able to hear the determination in his voice.

But, whose voice did it belong to?

Iris felt the darkness that engulfed her was not as scary as it used to be, instead, it felt warm and peaceful. Not like the cold and eerie attic, where Mason used to lock her in. She didn’t mind staying here for a little bit longer...

Meanwhile, someone got into big trouble when Iris didn’t wake up for two days straight.

"She is still alive! I swear she will be fine once she wakes up!" Haco cried in frustration when he received Cane’s wrath.

The Alpha didn’t raise his voice, nor did he cuss him out, but the murderous intention that radiated from him was enough to make anyone inside the room suffocate.

Grace grimaced, she lowered her head, as she cowered in the corner of the room. She was a healer, but she was clueless about treating Iris, since her healing power didn’t really have any effect on her.

Cane even called Ardand over to the Riverside pack, though he knew this old healer was also hopeless. He didn’t know what caused Iris to fall into a deep slumber and he had done the best he could by concocting medicines to strengthen her vitality, but it didn’t show any effect on her.

In the end, Ardand was sent back to the Howling Wolf pack, since there was no healer there.

"Then wake her up," Cane said coldly. He was standing beside the bed where Iris had been lying down for the past two days. He didn’t leave her side and gave orders to Jace from this room, while Grace was not allowed to leave. She had to check Iris’ condition every few minutes.

Meanwhile, Haco had been sitting in a corner, curling himself in fear, as he could feel his life was in danger. If something happened to Iris, he knew by heart he wouldn’t make it either.

But, he was sure Iris would wake up. The dark magic stone was so powerful, but if she failed to purify it, she would have died by now.

"Alpha..." Haco said in a coaxing tone. "The dark magic stone is so powerful, I think she needs time to rest and gain her strength back, more so, it is good for her to sleep. She has gone through a lot ever since she arrived here. I think this is a good thing, she could rest."

Cane narrowed his eyes dangerously, which made the sorcerer cower back to the corner. Not only the Alpha, but he could also feel the anger from the lycan leak out. After all, he had been a vessel for the lycan for five decades, of course, he could tell that much, and it made the Alpha look even scarier.

"How long?"

"Pardon?" Haco asked, but then he realized what the Alpha meant. "Give her two more days. I think four days will be enough for her to regain her strength."

"Hm." Cane nodded. "On the fifth day, if she still doesn’t wake up, I will cut one of your fingers for each day, until she does."

Haco gasped in shock, so did Grace who heard that. Despite Cane not raising his voice, nor him talking in a threatening tone, you could still see how feral and aggressive he was right now.

Shock was an understatement for what Jace and Grace felt to see the way their alpha acted around Gerald’s daughter. They knew Cane treated her well, but not this.... well, as if he took her seriously as his own mate.

Right at that time, someone knocked from outside of the bedroom. It was one of the Howling Wolf pack’s warriors, he informed Cane that the entourage of the Red Claw pack had arrived at the border and Jace left to receive them.

"Prepare rooms for them and bring Hanna and Ethan here immediately."

"Yes, Alpha."

================================

Jace was very impatient to wait for the entourage from the Red Claw pack to arrive and when their scents were carried over by the wind, he could hear the sounds of the movements of a hundred beasts.

In front of the massive group was Alpha Dristan, his beast was in the color of dirty brown and the biggest among the others, as he was the Alpha.

Alpha Dristan shifted into his human form and greeted Jace, they exchanged a few pleasantries, but from the corner of the Beta’s eyes, he could see Ethan dragging Redmond to the side and this made him frown.

What was Ethan going to do with Redmond? If it was not for taking care of this entourage, he would be the one to drag Ethan away to interrogate him.

Meanwhile, Ethan and Redmond were back to their usual squabbling, while Avid and the rest could only sigh to see this familiar scene again.

"Shouldn’t we go over and stop them?" One of the warriors asked Avid, worried the two of them would fight again. "They could kill each other."

"Let them kill each other," Avid said nonchalantly and followed the entourage to enter the Riverside pack.

On the other hand, Ethan dragged Redmond away from the crowd. "What do you think you are doing?!" Ethan hissed viciously when the two of them were out of earshot.

"What?!"

"How can you get her pregnant?! You only make trouble, you dimwit!"

"I just had sex with her, mutt! Who would have thought she wouldn’t take the Dragonheart?!"

"Damn it! Why should you multiply yourself!? You alone are enough of a headache for this realm!" Ethan scowled.
