Alan still couldn’t understand the gravity of the situation or come to terms with the fact he was almost killed by his own mother, since this had happened countless times, but Lady Cyan would never go through until the end.

"You don’t want to help me get my status back, but I figured out a way to retaliate and clear my name! You should be proud of me!" Alan roared. He had been trying to earn his mother’s recognition for a long time. He wanted to hear her praise him and look at him a little bit warmly, but all he got was a disdainful look in her eyes. "You told me to get close to that bastard merchant! I did exactly what you said!"

"What in the world made you think you got close to him?" Dexter narrowed his eyes. He could understand the frustration of his sister to have this kind of child.

"He gave me some advice."

"What kind of advice?" Lady Cyan opened her eyes and glared at Alan. "How can he give you any advice?"

Alan was stunned. He was not sure whether it was alright to tell his mother about it, but he couldn’t back away when his mother and this sorcerer had finally put some interest in what he was going to say.

Therefore, Alan blurted out what actually happened a few nights ago.

"Appeared inside your room without anyone noticing him?" Dexter tried to confirm what Alan just said. "No one could appear and disappear from this room without the guards noticing him."

"I swear! I swear he just appeared!"

"And why didn’t you ask him how he can do that?"

Alan was silent and both of them knew why. It didn’t cross his mind at all to ask the merchant, because he was too excited by the advice he gave to him and it didn’t take a genius to guess what kind of advice Lou had given to this moron.

"He gave me good advice! Now we are on better terms with each other! I have done what you wanted me to do and taken care of myself when you and father refused to help! I am innocent! I don’t know anything and have nothing to do with black magic! You should be proud of me!"

Lady Cyan was so enraged, until she couldn’t utter a single word and her silence was so deafening.

"We need to talk about our next move," Lady Cyan said to her brother, as she walked out of the room. She was not willing to spend another second in the presence of her son. "We need to let father know about this."

Without them knowing it, the Alpha of the Howling Wolf pack had gotten a hold of the southern part of the kingdom. She thought he was only a nuisance, but as it turned out, he became a threat now, while that lecherous king still wouldn’t lift his face from between Nala’s legs.

"He will not be happy to hear this," Dexter commented. His eyes dimmed slightly, as he thought about that woman. He had spent months with her and knew her a little bit better...

Jace was dumbstruck when he looked over his shoulder and saw Cane kissing Iris intensely. Both of them were on the ground, while Iris was sitting and Cane was kneeling down in front of her. His body towered over her small one and from the Beta’s point of view he could only see Cane’s back, but there was no mistake the Alpha was kissing his luna right now.

What. The. Hell. Is. Going. On. With. Them?!

Jace could understand when Cane didn’t have so much as a reaction when Iris kissed him, because she was drunk, though it was out of character for him to look calm after being kissed. But right now, it was him, who took the initiative to kiss her. Was he drunk?

From what Jace knew about the Alpha, he despised it when someone kissed him because of what he had gone through.

Therefore, watching Cane kissing Iris as if it was his second nature had left Jace floored, but he didn’t have time and the timing was not right to ask such a question to the Alpha and now, he witnessed him kissing her?!

It was not even a simple peck, he was literally kissing her!

"What are you staring at?" Redmond frowned because Jace stopped dragging him away and glanced toward Cane and Iris. "What is it? They are making out in public now?"

"What?" Jace turned his head toward Redmond upon hearing his comment, so fast, he thought, he would sprain his neck. "They make out behind closed doors?"

Redmond looked at Jace, as if his question was very silly. "They are mates, what do you think they are doing behind closed doors?" It was very logical for Redmond to assume that, since he didn’t know Cane very well and it was only common sense for mates to have sex. What made this beta act so surprised over that fact?

"What do you think they spend their nights doing? Cuddling?" Redmond looked at him funny. He forced himself to stop thinking about fatherhood, because nothing good would come out of such thoughts.

More so, there was a possibility Cane would plot to kill the woman and the baby, after all, the baby was not his and Redmond wouldn’t be bothered by that, or so he thought...

"They share the same room? Sleeping in the same bed?!"

"Yeah. Where else will they sleep, huh?"

This time, it was Redmond, who dragged the Beta away because he was being too loud. He didn’t want to interrupt Iris and Cane, probably this time, the Alpha could get her pregnant.

Above them, the sky had turned so dark, as the moon shone so bright, illuminating the two distraught people, who were almost lost in their own passionate kiss, as they tried to be close to each other without them realizing it.

They tried to understand one another desperately.
