The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter
Chapter 370: SHE IS INNOCENT

Chapter 370: SHE IS INNOCENT

Cane entered the room, where they kept Alpha Gill and it was Redmond, who immediately approached him, while the other warriors from the Howling Wolf pack bowed their bodies slightly upon seeing their alpha. This was the first time for them to see him in months.

Cane had mobilized around a thousand warriors from the Howling Wolf pack to march toward the Riverside pack and they had arrived a few hours ago, but at that time, Cane was taking care of Iris and didn’t want to be disturbed for any reason.

"What about her? How is she?" Redmond asked, he approached Cane with worry evident in his expression, but he immediately lowered his voice when he felt the murderous intention radiating from the Alpha, as he didn’t answer his question.

Cane immediately found Alpha Gill, crumpled on the floor with his body tied up with a silver chain to prevent him from shifting into his beast, but there was still one thing that Cane couldn’t understand... Why didn’t Gill shift into his beast when Iris attacked him?

As alphas, they tolerated silver better than any other shifter, a few stabs from her couldn’t prevent him from shifting, unless he was so weak and if Gill disregarded her status as Cane’s mate and touched her, he wouldn’t have thought twice before killing her in order to protect himself. This part was still unclear.

But then, Cane couldn’t think too deeply about that matter, because his mind was clouded by anger. He was livid. Rage was not even the right word to describe how he was feeling right now.

Cane made a beeline toward Alpha Gill, completely ignoring Redmond, as the warriors inside the room stepped back to make a way for him. They averted their eyes from the sight of their alpha, as they could feel the murderous intention emanating from his figure.

"Alpha Cane... Alpha Cane..." Gill called for him in his weak voice. Redmond was right, there was something wrong with him. He looked extremely weak, albeit they used a silver chain to tie him up and he sustained a few stabs, with the wounds still there, though the blood had stopped, he shouldn’t be this weak, as if he was only a breath away from death. His eyes had turned slightly red, so had his skin, as if he was being burned.

Maybe it was because of the silver chain? None of the people there were sure about what happened to this alpha.

"Al- alpha Cane... this is a misunderstanding... this is a mis- misunderstanding..." Gill spoke with difficulty, as if it pained him to utter even a single word. "It was her... it was her, who had... she had seduced me..."

"This bastard!" Redmond rushed forward to kick Alpha Gill on his head, as his body rolled to the side and fresh blood oozed from his split lips.

Alpha Gill spat out two of his teeth and he started to whimper and shriek again.

Meanwhile, Cane said nothing, he only stood there silently. He did nothing when Redmond kicked him, nor did he show any response when the warrior did it again when the Alpha insisted on the story of him being seduced by Iris.

"I have all the women... all be- beautiful woman..." Alpha Gil panted, trying to speak, as Redmond kept kicking him. "Why would I want a r- runt...? I don’t want a r- runt!"

"Bastard! You are still able to talk!?" Redmond was furious, but more so, he became even more frantic to see there was no reaction whatsoever from Cane. He dreaded this alpha would believe this motherfucker’s words.

Therefore, once Alpha Gill couldn’t speak anymore and kept vomiting blood along with his teeth, Redmond turned around to talk to Cane. He needed to make sure he wouldn’t buy such a ridiculous story about Iris seducing this lecherous animal!

"Alpha, there is no way Iris would have done such a thing! You know how naïve she is! You can say she is almost dumb in that kind of matter! There is no bone inside of her that could make her a seducer! You don’t trust this motherfucker, right?!" Redmond became even more distressed when Cane still didn’t say anything. "Iris is so dumb and naïve! She is also a scaredy cat! There is no way she will go behind your back to seduce another man in your absence! This motherfucker is just spitting rubbish!"

Redmond was agitated because there were a dozen Howling Wolf pack warriors inside this room and Cane’s lack of response would give a wrong signal for them. If their alpha didn’t believe in his luna’s innocence, there was no way these warriors would believe her either.

More so, they barely knew Iris, since she spent her time mostly with Cane, as she went along with him wherever he went.

Not to mention Aria’s death still left a bitter taste in their mouths, though they knew the woman was in the wrong. After all, they spent their time with that woman for so long and during their slavery time, their bonds with each other only deepened and they saw each other as family.

They were bound to each other by their dark past, almost all the members of the Howling Wolf pack did feel that way.

"Alpha! Iris is innocent!" Redmond shouted in frustration. He tried to convince Cane, but actually, he tried to convince those warriors more, therefore, it made him feel distraught to see how they started to judge the situation.

Damn it, Cane! Why won’t you say something! Can’t you see how your men started to buy this jerk’s words?!

"Why did you stop?" Cane finally spoke and this caught Redmond off guard.

"Pardon?" Redmond was a little bit lost when he was given the question. He blinked his eyes in confusion.

"Why did you stop?" Cane repeated the question.

It was not that Cane had a lack of response, but he was thinking about another matter. Things had escalated to this point, thus he needed to adjust his plan accordingly. He took his time because Redmond was torturing Gill, but then... why did he stop?

"He will die if I keep kicking him." Redmond was still in confusion when he answered the question, thus he simply blurted out what was in his mind.

If Alpha Gill died, things would be out of control, but as long as he was alive, Cane could do something about this situation, such as; threatening the Alpha, or formulating a bargain that would benefit them.

More so, killing an alpha would only leave them in a precarious position. It was not as easy as thinking about it and the consequences would be so great compared to killing Prince Vemion, since no one would know it was Cane, who had done it.

However, Cane had a different view... he always did.

Once he heard the answer from Redmond, he walked forward and knelt down beside Alpha Gill, who was whimpering pitifully, because he was in so much pain.

"Al- alpha Cane, pl- please... I am in- innocent..." Alpha Gill said with a trembling voice, thinking Cane would spare his life.

But then, the next thing Cane did was to rip his mouth apart. Very slowly, so Alpha Gill could feel his cheeks being torn apart inch by inch.
