The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter
Chapter 341: REDMOND’S MEMORIES OF HER

Chapter 341: REDMOND’S MEMORIES OF HER

Redmond was only fifteen when he saw baby Iris for the first time. Alpha Gerald was vexed because he got a baby girl instead of a boy from his favorite woman, who was none other than Iris’ mother.

He threw a month-long party, which was attended by all the Alphas in the southern packs, except the Alpha of the Howling Wolf pack. The party was filled with alcohol and women. Naked women walked down the corridors without wearing anything.

That was the first time for Redmond to see so many women naked in his fifteen years of life and also the first time he had sex with a woman twice his age. He remembered that woman complimenting his red hair before passing out on top of him.

His first time was not really ecstatic, but it was still memorable. After he got dressed and left that woman, he walked toward the garden, where he could see the balcony of Luna Nera’s chamber.

Luna Nera was not Alpha Gerald’s fated mate, but he chose her to be his luna because he liked her more than Mason’s mother.

On the balcony, young Redmond could see a beautiful woman standing, holding a baby in her arms. Tears streamed down her beautiful face, while she stared at her month old baby girl blankly, knowing her mate was in another woman’s arms right now, being pleasured by countless women. Not to mention the party was so loud and this distressed the Luna even more. Apparently, sensing what her mother felt, the baby couldn’t seem to sleep either. She kept crying for the whole night.

Redmond saw the baby in Luna Nera’s arms, it was Iris. Luna Nera named her Iris.

When Iris was just one year old, Luna Nera died and she was to be taken care of by an old lady, who was Luna Nera’s personal maidservant, who too died a few years after.

When Iris was three years old, Redmond met her, playing on her own in the garden and before he realized it, he had walked toward her and sat down next to the little girl with curly hair.

He didn’t do anything and only watched over the baby girl, so she wouldn’t get into trouble until her nanny came.

However, seeing someone accompanying her there, Iris started trying to play with him. She was smiling and giggling, looking all innocent and pure and this made Redmond frown.

He was under training to become a warrior and the training was very harsh to say the least. Some people would even die during the training and not to mention the bullying within the ranks. The competition was so fierce, thus it was so weird to see such a naïve smile baby Iris showed to him.

Redmond didn’t smile back, because it was weird for him to smile. He had forgotten how to do it.

Yet, the baby gave him a flower that she found and tried to hug him, trying to give him comfort, since in her eyes, he looked so sad.

At the same time, Redmond bolted up and walked away from that little creature, who looked at him with teary eyes because he left. She tried to follow him, but there was no way her tiny little steps could match his.

After that, it was so rare for Redmond to see her again until the day the Blue Moon pack was attacked and fell into Cane’s hands. Probably, he met her only a handful times during all those years, but every time he saw her, she would look so sad.

He reported her one time when he caught her giving food to the slaves, putting her into trouble with Mason and after that, he stayed away from her, since he couldn’t betray the oath he gave to the Alpha and he had an obligation to inform what she was doing.

And today, Iris was a luna for two packs, she didn’t look as sad as before and if he could say, she was rather fierce nowadays, though he could still see traces of that little girl, who gave him a flower she found, every now and then.

Iris would never remember that, but Redmond would never forget that seemingly insignificant moment, because at that time, he was going through a lot, his mate died a few days prior and no one sympathized with him, and the only person who smiled warmly at him was that little girl.

It felt so silly when he thought back to it, as he clung onto the rare fraction of warmth he received in his entire life.

At this moment, that little girl had grown into a beautiful woman and started to see the world differently. It was a good thing, but at the same time, that sweet little girl would no longer be there eventually.

Redmond walked behind Iris and Hanna with Trion, as they headed to the King’s palace, but they met Cane on his way to fetch her.

Iris’ eyes lit up and her face brightened up when she saw him as she quickened her pace.

"What happened?" Iris asked in a low voice, as she glanced at the people behind Cane’s back, she saw Lady Cyan staring at her and a few other people did the same.

"We will go to the Crown Prince’s palace. I need you to find the black magic stone there," Cane said. He glanced at the cloak Iris was wearing and tucked loose strands of her hair behind her ear.

Reading that, Iris was slightly confused. Wasn’t it only eight black magic stones? And she had found all of them. Was there more?

However, Iris couldn’t ask that question, because there were so many people, so she nodded and Cane took her inside the carriage that would fetch them there.

Inside, when Iris was about to ask him, Cane had closed his eyes and this made her swallow back her question. She was sure he didn’t get enough sleep last night and tonight was a new moon. He would be easily tired during this time.

Out there, the sky was so clear and the weather was slightly warm right now, but Iris liked wearing Cane’s cloak. It was so comfortable.

It wasn’t long before they arrived at the Crown Prince’s palace and once they got there, there were around two hundred warriors led by the warriors from the Howling Wolf pack, accompanied by the warriors from the Red Claw pack as well to comb the entire place.

With the warriors from the Red Claw pack and the Howling Wolf pack there, nothing would be left behind, not to mention that Koda joined the group as well.

"Do you feel something?" Lady Cyan approached Iris, but because she wasn’t facing her, she didn’t know what she was talking about.

"Miss." Hanna nudged her so Iris could be aware of Lady Cyan’s presence, while Cane was talking to Koda a little bit further from them.

"My Lady, I am sorry I didn’t realize you are here," Iris said politely, after Hanna told her what she asked. "Yes, I feel something, it seems to be somewhere on the second floor," she replied honestly. This feeling was even more stronger than when she tried to find those eight black stones in the East Palace.

"Really?" Lady Cyan extended her hand for Iris to take. "Why don’t we go up there to check on it?"
