Chapter 691: Second Brother Complains, A Punch Shatters Bone!

Chapter 691: Second Brother Complains, A Punch Shatters Bone!

The leader of the group held a dagger, and infused it with spiritual power, making its cold gleam even more intense. He swung the dagger down. He aimed to swiftly sever both of Chu Huan’s hands in one strike.

Chu Huan, though terrified, had not yet closed his eyes. Suddenly, a golden light erupted before him. It was the Transfer Talisman rune!

The members of the Chu family, whose hearts had been hanging by a thread, finally felt a sense of relief.

"What is that?" The leader and his group had never seen someone use a Transfer Talisman in the Lower Realm before. As they stared wide-eyed, a figure emerged from the light, swiftly striking out with a palm.

Just like that, the attack was infused with immense spiritual power!

The leader, who had made a living in blood and battle, reacted with lightning speed despite his ordinary cultivation. He quickly pushed Chu Huan in front of him, while he himself retreated to the side, fully on guard.

Nanli steadied Chu Huan. "Third Brother, are you alright?"

But at that moment, Chu Huan froze, his eyes wide. The voice and appearance of the person who had just spoken were those of Yuan Zijun, yet the worry in his eyes and his concern for Chu Huan were deeply familiar.

This was a mission by Penglai Island, so in order to keep their identities secret, they hadn’t been wearing the sect’s clothes. The leader of the group recognized her and immediately said, "So this is the fourth son of the Chu family? How does he have spiritual power?"

They had seen all the portraits of the Chu family members before. One of the Qi Refining practitioners spoke up, "No, Chu Yang doesn’t look like this."

The leader’s eyes narrowed as realization dawned. He growled with hatred, "It’s Chu Nanli! The woman on the wanted poster!"

Before he could even give an order, his brothers, excited and eager, sprang into action, ready to capture the Chu family members, convinced that Chu Nanli would not be able to escape.

"You’ve really touched my sore spot," Nanli raised her gaze, her eyes blazing with fury.

Without hesitation, she threw a Body-Freezing Talisman. But to her surprise, it had no effect.

Nanli immediately understood: these people had come prepared. They must have received detailed information about them and had applied Defence Talismans or artifacts to protect themselves.

Her expression turned cold. Without further delay, she drew her Dark Moon Sword. In an instant, her figure blurred like a ghost, and with a swift motion, she slashed at the Qi Refining practitioner who was nearest to her.

So fast!

Before the Qi Refining practitioner could get close, Nanli’s wooden sword swept him away with a blast of spiritual power. The Golden Core energy was clear in its manifestation!

Thankfully, the leader managed to intervene just in time, blocking Nanli’s sword with his own power, saving his subordinates from certain death.

Not daring to engage her directly, the leader quickly retreated with his men to the courtyard. He whistled a few times.

"Get over here for reinforcements!"

The ten other men immediately rushed to support them.

Nanli, sensing this, removed her Face-Changing Talisman, revealing her true form.

"Indeed, it’s Tongtong!" Grand Lady cried out with joy.

Madam Shen, seeing her daughter safe, was overcome with emotion and burst into tears.

Nanli had not only recovered from her previous frail appearance but now looked even more radiant, like a jade in the sun.

They wept and laughed, feeling both relief from their danger and joy at Nanli’s transformation.

As soon as the sixth sister returned, Chu Shuo’s confidence returned. He rushed to complain, "Sixth sister, the leader harmed me and crushed Third Brother’s right hand!"

"I know," Nanli said, stepping forward.

Her face remained cold. She cast several talismans around the main hall to set up protective arrays, just in case.

Meanwhile, the injured guards and servants in the front yard, upon seeing Nanli’s return, all cheered:

"The Ninth Princess!"

"The Ninth Princess is back!"

The leader, hearing their cheerful cries, sneered. "So what if she’s back? I still have reinforcements! Chu Nanli, if you don’t want to endanger your family, you’d better come with us quietly."

Nanli raised her eyes and glared at him, her killing intent clear.

"Are you talking about Liang Jie? He won’t be able to come to your aid anytime soon."

The leader was taken aback.

A subordinate asked, "Big Brother, she’s just trying to scare us, right? Elder Liang Jie is at the Nascent Soul early stage, how could she handle him?"

"Don’t underestimate her. The intel says she has other help." The leader replied. "I’ve already signaled. If Elder Liang Jie hasn’t appeared yet, it’s clear something has gone wrong."

They all knew that, as a team, if things went south, they had to escape immediately.

"Scatter!" The leader shouted, and at once, his men began fleeing. Some rushed towards the front gate, while others tried to climb the walls.

Nanli, however, wasn’t in a hurry. She threw out several more talismans, immediately forming an array that blocked their path.

The golden light flickered before them. They couldn’t stop in time and crashed into the barrier, their bodies flipping uncontrollably.

As they fell to the ground, they quickly steadied themselves.

These twenty Qi Refining practitioners, excluding the experienced leader, all looked pale and trembled slightly.

"What are you afraid of?" The leader raised his chin. "So what if she’s in the Golden Core stage? We have twenty people! And haven’t you forgotten? Talisman Cultivators aren’t as strong in combat. If we attack together, we might not lose to her!"

His words reassured the others, restoring their confidence.

After all, Nanli was using only a wooden sword. What was there to fear?

"Big Brother’s right!"

With that, they immediately formed a battle formation.

Nanli, however, sheathed her Dark Moon Sword.

She stood there empty-handed. "Well then, let’s see who’s better."

The leader of the group sneered when he saw that Nanli didn’t even bother to use her wooden sword. "You’re underestimating us too much."

Before he could finish speaking, he was already charging at Nanli, sword raised, aiming for her vital points.

Nanli didn’t sidestep or try to avoid the strike. Instead, she extended both her hands, enveloping them in spiritual power, and caught his sword with just two fingers.

The leader tried to pull his sword back, but it wouldn’t budge.

At the same time, the other Qi Refining warriors all rushed in to attack.

Nanli either dodged their strikes or kicked them away with a force that sent them flying. Her left hand was just as effective—when she saw the leader throw a punch, she met it head-on with a punch of her own.

The collision of their spiritual powers created a powerful gust of wind that sent the other Qi Refining practitioners reeling, knocking them back.

The leader cried out in pain.

He couldn’t hold onto his sword anymore.

His entire body was crushed under the sheer force of Nanli’s punch, all his bones shattered in an instant. Despite his strength, nearly reaching the Base Building stage, he was powerless in the face of her monstrous might.

He crumpled to the ground, twisted in an unnatural way.

"Big Brother!" one of the Qi Refining warriors gasped, his eyes narrowing in shock, a cold sweat breaking out on his forehead.

Seeing their leader incapacitated, the other warriors froze, their courage evaporating. None of them dared to approach.

Nanli, still dressed in men’s clothing, which didn’t fit properly and hung loosely on her, looked younger than she actually was. She cast a cold glance at the fallen leader and casually tossed his sword aside.

One of the Qi Refining warriors, gathering what little courage he had left, dropped to his knees. "I... I didn’t know who I was dealing with. Please forgive me. I am willing to hand over everything I have—my spirit stones and treasures. Please spare my life!"

The others quickly followed suit, kneeling and offering whatever they could in surrender. They even began to open their Qiankun Bags, showing their sincerity.

Nanli looked at them with indifference. "Do you think your Qiankun Bags will save your lives?" she said coldly. "Do you think I’m interested in such trifles?"

The Qi Refining practitioner who spoke trembled and hurriedly corrected himself, "No, no! We’re just lowly mercenaries! We don’t have anything of real value, but we’ve earned these spirit stones through hard work. Please, we’ll give you everything we have, just spare us!"

He quickly emptied his Qiankun Bag, revealing his accumulated treasures. "I have three thousand low-grade spirit stones and a hundred middle-grade spirit stones..."

The other warriors hastened to follow suit, showing their own bags of spirit stones and treasures.
