Chapter 592: Unboxing the Surprise for the Prince

Chapter 592: Unboxing the Surprise for the Prince

By the time they returned to the Prince Yu Mansion, it was already late.

Although Nanli had a talisman that could clean her body, she still preferred a hot bath. However, she washed up quickly.

Ye Siheng pouted in dissatisfaction. "Are you really that afraid? I didn’t plan on doing anything tonight." He was still concerned for her since it was her first day back in the capital.

He reached out to help wring out her hair, but Nanli took the towel from him and playfully pushed him towards the bathing area, winking, "You should wash up too! I have a surprise for you."

Ye Siheng’s mind raced. The thought crossed his mind, and his cheeks turned red along with his ears.

At that moment, Nanli was not entirely sure what she was doing.

When Ye Siheng came out, he saw her sitting on the bed, her hair half-dried, staring intently at something. The small table had a jade incense burner sending up fragrant wisps of smoke, creating an enchanting scene.

If only there was a little girl by her side, that would be perfect. It was his greatest wish.

Though it seemed impossible, what if?

He used his teleportation skill and suddenly appeared next to Nanli.

"Your Majesty—"

She had just looked up when he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her close.

Caught off guard, her words were silenced.

His kiss began softly and gently, but soon turned passionate and possessive.

"A’Li, I miss you so much."

Even he couldn’t find the words to describe his longing.

She was soft against him, both her lips and body, making him lose himself. His intense presence enveloped her, and she felt a bit dazed.

But a sudden chill on her shoulder brought her back to reality, and she quickly pushed him away. "Your Majesty, don’t..."

However, her words slipped out as an eye roll.

The way she spoke was almost coy, making it seem like she was playing hard to get.

Yet Ye Siheng knew her well; she was straightforward about what she wanted or didn’t want.

He didn’t advance further, his voice low and husky. "What’s wrong? Didn’t you say you had a surprise for me?"

"Yes, but it’s not this," Nanli replied, shaking the Qiankun Bag in front of him. "Look! I snatched this from a Golden Core cultivator! I’ve been holding off on looking inside, intending to unbox it with you!"

Ye Siheng’s expression turned flat as he stared at the Qiankun Bag.

"A’Li, thank you for thinking of me like this," he said. "Next time, just tell me directly; there’s no need for me to get my hopes up."

Nanli retorted, "You can’t be thinking about this all day!"

She touched her lips with her other hand, feeling a bit numb and swollen from his earlier kisses.

Ye Siheng argued back, "Before the disaster relief, we were all busy, and we didn’t even have time to eat together, let alone be intimate. After that, you went to Xuanyue Temple, and it’s been over a month since we’ve been close. A’Li is so beautiful; how could I not think about you?"

His earnest declarations of love made Nanli chuckle.

Her eyes brightened as she leaned in and pecked him on the cheek. "I miss you too, but let’s unbox this surprise tonight."

Ye Siheng sighed softly. "Fine."

His body was accustomed to heat and cold, so he was only wearing an inner garment, his muscular chest faintly visible.

But he didn’t want Nanli to feel cold, so he draped an outer garment over her.

They both got off the bed and moved to the rattan couch.

Nanli examined the Qiankun Bag, her expression serious. "It seems that even after a thousand years, the Immortal World hasn’t made any improvements; this sealing talisman is still quite exquisite."

"Even if it’s exquisite, you still broke it, right?" Ye Siheng replied.

"That’s because I had the blood of the cultivator. These sealing talismans need blood for recognition of ownership, so as long as I had the owner’s blood, breaking it wasn’t difficult," Nanli explained. "I was thinking of figuring out how to break it without the owner’s blood."

Ye Siheng’s eyes lit up. "You’re not planning to go steal a cultivator’s Qiankun Bag, are you?"

Nanli winked at him. "Of course! I need to study it in advance so I can unlock it when I get one."

Ye Siheng furrowed his brow. "This Qiankun Bag belongs to a Golden Core cultivator. If you steal it, won’t he be furious?"

He immediately became wary, worried about a potential surprise attack from the Golden Core cultivator.

Nanli waved her hand dismissively. "You don’t need to worry; I took care of it."

"What?" Ye Siheng’s expression darkened. "What were you doing at Xuanyue Temple?"

When he returned to Ye City, he hadn’t seen her at all.

He used a Whisper Talisman to ask, only to learn she had gone to Xuanyue Temple for some business, assuring him not to worry and that she would return after the disaster relief was completed.

Nanli explained everything that had happened while studying the broken talisman, detailing her encounter with the Golden Core cultivator who had come with Zhou Zida.

Ye Siheng couldn’t sit still after hearing this. He stood up suddenly, staring at her coldly. "Chu Nanli, were you just ignoring my words? That’s a Golden Core cultivator! Do you have any idea how dangerous that is?"

She hadn’t mentioned such a big matter in their Whisper Talisman!

Was this what it meant to be husband and wife?

Did she even consider him her husband?

If things continued like this, he might as well be an onlooker!

Nanli was taken aback, not expecting him to react so strongly.

She was always straightforward. "I know it’s dangerous, but some things I have to face myself. I can’t depend on you all the time. Prince, I knew you would come, which is why I didn’t tell you. If I had, you would have interrupted my experimentation with the Spirit-Extinguishing Formation."

Ye Siheng was even angrier at her reasoning.

"You can experiment, but I should be there to watch over you, to ensure your safety. If anything goes wrong, I can step in immediately."

"No, you wouldn’t! The moment you see me in a bit of trouble, you would rush in to help."

Ye Siheng was momentarily speechless; it was true that they shared a bed, and she knew him well.

But he still wanted to reprimand her. "What’s wrong with me wanting to protect you?"

He might not have had that ability before, but now he did, and he couldn’t allow her to face danger alone.

"I know, but—"

Before Nanli could finish, Ye Siheng interrupted her, his eyes reddening. "Are you saying that you don’t trust me? That you don’t believe I will always prioritize you and protect you?"

At that moment, he looked like a wronged little wife, staring at her with a hurt expression.

Nanli felt no regret and returned his gaze defiantly.

The candle flickered, the tiny crackling sound adding to the tense atmosphere in the room.
