Chapter 325: Chapter 325: A Day in the Life of Tang Tang
Tang Tang was relatively happy today.
In the morning, she went to the market with her mom and Grandma, where "Grandma" referred to Fourth Aunt.
Fourth Aunt is a local from Bin Hai and is already fifty-one this year, even a few years younger than Jiang Yingxue.
But people lead different lives; she struggled her whole life, and even in her fifties, she still needs to work as a nanny. Fortunately, she met Ruan Hongzhuang, who offered good treatment in all aspects; it’s considered luck.
She had just arrived at Shen Siyuan’s place and had already figured out the surroundings.
"Where the market is, where the barber shop is, where the supermarkets and hospitals are, etc."
Due to Mao Sanmei being deaf and mute, Fourth Aunt specifically drew a rough map for her on a sheet of paper.
"The market is a bit far, and since you can’t drive, walking there will definitely take a lot of time."
Fourth Aunt spoke into her phone, which then translated her words into text for Mao Sanmei to read.
The two communicated this way; it must be said that technology brings considerable convenience to these special individuals.
"Can I ride a bike?"
"Bicycle or electric bike?"
"Electric bike." Mao Sanmei typed.
Fourth Aunt was somewhat surprised.
"It’s good that you can ride; I’ll ask Mr. Shen to buy you an electric bike, which will make grocery shopping much easier."
"Would that be alright?"
On hearing this, Fourth Aunt laughed.
"You’re a live-in housekeeper; transportation and such should be provided by the employer; there’s nothing improper about it."
After reading it, Mao Sanmei nodded in acknowledgment.
Fourth Aunt gave her a glance, actually quite curious why Mr. Shen and Miss Ruan would hire her as a nanny since being deaf and mute made communication very challenging.
She then thought of Tang Tang, shifting her gaze toward the little one sitting on her mom’s lap, playing with the map she had drawn.
She flipped the paper back and forth, then fanned it in the air a couple of times, creating a slight breeze.
"Han~han~han..."
Watching the little one’s naive and joyful expression, it’s no wonder Mr. Shen likes her.
What a blessing she brings; her mother found such a good employer because of her.
It’s just a pity...
"I heard that Mr. Shen hired a sign language teacher for Tang Tang; have they mentioned when classes will start?" Fourth Aunt spoke into her phone, then translated it into text.
"Every Tuesday and Thursday." Mao Sanmei replied.
This was something Shen Siyuan had mentioned to her; previously, it was only two classes on Saturday afternoon, but now it’s changed to Tuesday and Thursday afternoons to get Tang Tang accustomed, with plans to gradually increase later.
While they were chatting, Tang Tang suddenly looked out the window, struggling to stand up from Mao Sanmei’s embrace.
Frightened, Mao Sanmei quickly reached out to steady her, preventing her from falling.
"Oh~oh..." Tang Tang excitedly pointed to the sky.
Fourth Aunt followed her finger and looked outside, then said, "It’s a seabird."
Mao Sanmei also smiled, mimicking the flying bird with her fingers.
"Oh...oh..."
Tang Tang became a bit more excited; what she was pointing at wasn’t the birds but the azure sky, but no one understood her.
Then she seemed to think of something, pursing her lips and blowing a few times.
Then a breeze, seemingly summoned, blew in from the car window, swirling around inside the car.
"Oh~h..."
Tang Tang sat in her mom’s arms, excitedly waving her little hands, her little bottom wiggling back and forth.
Fourth Aunt, seeing this, chuckled and said, "Seeing the birds makes you so happy."
But actually, Tang Tang was communicating with the wind, and soon the breeze blew out of the car and towards the sky.
Tang Tang looked up at the sky.
"Han~"
The market was bustling, with so many people; it was Tang Tang’s first time seeing so many people.
Her little head was bumped by many big behinds, fortunate that her mom was holding on tight to her, otherwise, she could have been knocked out of sight.
Also, the wind here doesn’t smell very good; she doesn’t like the wind in this place.
But here, she saw many small animals from picture books.
There were chickens, ducks, shrimps, fish, and even big crabs...
The people here, they are all so loving, all good people.
Mom followed closely behind Grandma, and she followed Mom, but soon couldn’t keep up, so Mom picked her up.
Then, instead of many butts, she saw many fuzzy heads.
"han~han~"
Tang Tang smiled, and many people smiled looking at her.
"This little girl looks really delightful," someone said.
"Considering how adorable she is, could you give us a discount?" Fourth Aunt asked.
"That won’t do, as delightful as she is, she’s not from my family," the vegetable vendor firmly refused.
Mao Sanmei saw a vendor selling candied gourds and bought Tang Tang a string of strawberry-flavored candied gourds.
"han~ wow..."
Tang Tang opened her mouth wide, eating with sugar strings at the corners of her mouth, along with her saliva, messy like a little smudged kitten.
After eating the candied gourd, Tang Tang was in exceptionally good spirits, singing all the way back, facing the car window.
Her singing had no lyrics, just simple sounds like ah, oh, woo, etc.
Fourth Aunt was somewhat surprised.
"It actually sounds quite nice; maybe she has a talent for singing when she learns to talk."
This wasn’t spoken into a phone, Mao Sanmei naturally didn’t hear, she just tenderly watched Tang Tang singing away, the noon sunlight shone through the car window, landing on her, seemingly making her into a golden doll.
At that moment, Mao Sanmei felt an unprecedented happiness; she would never let her daughter leave her side or out of her sight again, wanting to watch her grow up.
"Oh~ Oh~"
As soon as Tang Tang entered the door, she made two oh sounds, as if saying "I’m back."
And indeed, because of her voice, Jiang Yingxue walked out of the room.
"What happened here, looking like a little smudged kitten?"
Seeing Tang Tang’s dirty appearance, Jiang Yingxue looked disdainful.
Mao Sanmei quickly gestured with her hands, trying to explain.
But Jiang Yingxue wasn’t looking at her; instead, she stretched out her hand, and Tang Tang naturally placed her little hand into her palm.
"I’ll take you to wash your face," said Jiang Yingxue.
"han~" Tang Tang smiled naively.
"And this little face, is it the wind, or the sun that got to it, you need to apply some sunscreen."
"Mmm~ mmm~"
"Do you understand what Grandma is saying?"
"hanhanhan..."
"Silly girl."
"hanhanhan..."
Jiang Yingxue washed her face, applied fragrance, Tang Tang happily stuck out her tongue, trying to lick her own face to see what it tasted like, which made Jiang Yingxue burst into laughter.
"Tomorrow Grandma will take you to buy some clothes, and shoes, and also cut your hair..."
Jiang Yingxue examined Tang Tang back and forth, feeling increasingly fond of her.
"Alright, let’s watch TV."
Jiang Yingxue gave her a light pat on the butt and pulled her into the living room, where Fourth Aunt and Mao Sanmei were busy making lunch.
Jiang Yingxue turned on the TV, just then, Tang Tang suddenly wriggled free from her grasp and ran towards the balcony, then looked up at the sky.
"Oh~ oh..."
Jiang Yingxue followed out, curiously looking up into the sky.
"What’s in the sky?"
The sky was a cerulean blue, with clusters of white clouds.
"Are you looking at the clouds?"
But she didn’t notice that, reflected in Tang Tang’s eyes, were strands of golden light.
