Tearing the Prince's Clothes after Withdrawing Marriage -
Chapter 465 - 464: This Woman, She’s Somewhat Capable
Chapter 465: Chapter 464: This Woman, She’s Somewhat Capable
For a long time, no one spoke in the room.
Tie Xin had gone back to rest as well.
Inside and outside the bedroom, all was silent, save for the occasional gust of wind outside the window.
After an indeterminate amount of time had passed, Feng Wuya finally sat up and gazed at the slender figure by the window.
"I owe her."
"What does it have to do with you?"
"A son ought to repay the debts of his mother; it’s only natural," Feng Wuya leaned against the bedside, his gaze falling into an unnamed corner.
"Although Long Xiyue wasn’t killed by my mother, she’s still inextricably linked to her. In this lifetime, both my mother and I will forever be indebted to her, unable to ever clear our debt."
The person by the bed turned around, staring at his face, which remained distinct even in the dark night, "What do you plan to do?"
"I haven’t figured it out yet, but I ought to do something for her."
Feng Wuya wasn’t a pessimist, nor was he the type to wallow in self-pity.
He met Feng Si’s gaze and smiled lightly, "When do you plan to let her know your identity?"
"She has forgotten everything about the past. Knowing or not knowing, what difference does it make?"
Feng Si withdrew his gaze, turned around, and looked at him, "She said that if you recover well, that would be the greatest help to her. Don’t cause trouble unnecessarily, just wait peacefully for her return."
He was going to leave.
Feng Wuya looked at the empty bedroom, his heart filled with a myriad of emotions.
A long, long time ago, he inadvertently overheard his mother confessing her sins, and her confession was directed at Long Xiyue.
His mother asked the person in the portrait if it was because of her past misdeeds that her son had to suffer.
She prayed devoutly to Buddha and made offerings to Long Xiyue, all in order to atone for her sins, to bring more blessings to her son.
Ever since learning of Feng Wuya’s illness, for over a decade, Consort Yu had been constantly filled with regret.
She believed that it was her fault that had brought misfortune upon Wuya.
That year, a young Feng Wuya, upon hearing this matter, was so anxious that he wanted to disassociate himself from her.
In the end, it was Consort Yu who promised that she would not err again for the rest of her life and only then did he forgive her.
As he grew older, Feng Wuya also matured and started to understand and empathize with his mother.
Who amongst us is without fault?
As long as his mother truly repented, he could forgive her.
But not Long Xiyue, nor Long Xiyue’s daughter.
If it hadn’t been for his mother, Long Xiyue might not have died.
Ali would never forgive her mother.
He also did not want to use his relationship to soften Ali’s heart and put her in a difficult position.
The debt owed to Ali must be repaid.
Whether it was his mother or he himself, it was all the same.
... That night, Chu Qianli was somewhat restless.
Tossing and turning, she woke up before dawn the next day.
After carefully studying the map Wei Qiong had given her once more, she immediately packed her belongings and left.
Fu Ning had already prepared snacks and dry food for the journey.
"I’ve said it before, I don’t lack these things, and there’s no need for such trouble in the future."
Yet, Chu Qianli still felt warmth in her heart. Having someone sincerely care for her was a rare and cherished occurrence.
"Big brother left early this morning; he couldn’t wait for you to wake up. However, he had a few words that he hoped I could convey to you," said Fu Ning gently.
"Big brother wants you to be very careful."
"I know." Chu Qianli lifted the cloth bag containing the snacks and walked toward the horse, eating as she went.
Fu Ning followed her, "Miss, when you go out, you never carry a bundle with you."
"I have my ways." Some secrets are hard to keep from those close to you, but she didn’t feel like explaining at the moment.
"I won’t lack anything I need, don’t worry. And..."
After mounting the horse, Chu Qianli turned around and glanced in the direction of Feng Wuya’s bedroom.
"Take good care of Wuya and tell him that I will be back as soon as possible. Ask him to wait for me at the Prince Residence."
Feng Wuya had stayed up too late last night, and now, before dawn, she wanted him to get some more sleep.
Fu Ning nodded in agreement.
Chu Qianli finished a few snacks and drank two cups of water before she abruptly pulled on the reins and rode her horse away from the back courtyard of the Prince Residence.
It wasn’t long after leaving the back courtyard before she reached one of Prince’s smaller military camps.
Beyond the Prince’s military camp lay Wei Qiong’s camp.
Between the two camps and those outside the city was a connecting path.
In other words, Chu Qianli could leave Dragon City via this special road without having to pass through the city gates, so long as she had Wei Qiong’s Token.
With the Token in hand, Chu Qianli quickly exited the city through this unique path.
Afterward, she headed straight for Langya Peak without resting for a moment along the way.
It was approaching dusk.
She was now very close to Langya Peak.
If she continued to travel overnight, she would arrive by the end of the night.
However, with strict guards on Langya Peak, if she spent all her energy traveling tonight, she might not have the strength to deal with the guards tomorrow upon arrival.
In the end, she found a quiet mountaintop and came to a stop.
Chu Qianli had purchased a simple tent, set it up, and then bought some sulfur to scatter around the area.
After ensuring that no snakes, insects, mice, or ants would disturb her at night, she hid inside the tent and began her dinner.
Traveling all day was truly exhausting.
Soon, she fell into a deep sleep.
Until, the ringing of bells awoke her.
Those were the bells she had hung from trees around the tent, tied with thin threads.
In the dead of night, most people would never notice them.
As expected, someone was attempting a sneak attack!
The instant the bells rang, Chu Qianli awoke, donned her night clothes, and swiftly left the tent, disappearing into the night.
But unexpectedly, although she heard the bells, she could not see the thief!
It must be those Fuso Ninjas again!
With a slight twist of her wrist, Chu Qianli suddenly had a bottle of something in her hand.
As a cold breeze brushed by her ear, Chu Qianli flung her hand, and the powder from within the bottle scattered all around.
Fluorescent powder—the Fuso Ninjas had no clue what it was, but the several Ninjas lurking around could no longer use their stealth techniques effectively.
One by one, they were exposed in the darkness.
Even Feng Si, sitting on a tree branch not far away, found himself somewhat astonished.
This woman had some real skills.
Chu Qianli did not give the Fuso assassins a chance to react; with a flick of her wrist, the short blade traced a dismal silver arc in the moonlight.
"Ah..."
The two assassins nearest to her were immediately cut down to the ground.
The other assassins were now utterly helpless, unable to use stealth they were forced into a direct confrontation!
But how could Chu Qianli’s martial arts be matched by them?
In just over a dozen moves, eight of the ten Fuso assassins were downed.
The remaining two, seeing things going awry, turned and attempted to flee.
Chu Qianli’s fingers tightened, and with a few swish sounds, silver needles appeared in her hand.
One of them collapsed to the ground at the sound.
But the other had already made some distance.
Chu Qianli’s heart tightened, and she quickened her pace to chase after him.
She couldn’t let him return covered in fluorescent powder; if the person behind them was truly Long Xinghe, he would certainly recognize it as something from the 21st century!
