The psychological aspect in this novel is better than anything I've read in any other harem genre novel. The psyches of the characters are extremely well written to the point that you can tell the author knows the human mind VERY well. Almost a bit TOO well. It's not something you'd notice if you don't have an eye for it. A normal person may even say I'm looking too deep into this. But let's just say I'm an fairly skilled on the topic of the mind.
Although other aspects of the novel aren't as extremely well written as the characters' persona's, it's pretty decent. Very readable.
I liked the story, and it is much better now that our MC is weak because this means he will capture other girls without using cliche stories, but you know the author should give a reason or two as to why the FL likes MC, or else the FL would become very much of a one-directional character. I liked the general. its a A-Tier novel for me
As you may know me by my many aliases, 'Sh*ttyTaste', 'PoisonEnjoyer' 'HaremEnjoyer' and 'IHaveTooMuchTimeInMyHands', I enjoy writing reviews and reading novels. Now now, I may be biased, maybe a tiny bit, as large as molecules, regarding Harems. It's like comfort food, no broken hearts, or stupid reasons to kick down others. You like a lass? 90% she wins the lotto. Enough chatting though, down to business.
I won't be spoiling anything as per usual. Anything I mention is found within the beginning of the novel. Our MC, codename Theo bond007 (His first name is Theo, last name I cannot remember), is a gardener... you heard me right. His official position is a gardener, but he works also like the queens assistant/consultant despite having no such title. He also licks the soap of her body when she showers (lucky dog he is). My memory of the earliest chapters isn't the greatest, but it is good enough. He knows that the queen is going to be executed due to rebellion, so he tries his damnest to make sure the queen survives, because as they say, alive queen -> his sorry a*s will be saved. The queen is quite strong, but she is aloof and does not care for anything really. There are plenty of reasons as to why, and they get explained much later in the novel. Still, she likes our dog- I meant to say MC, which she treats like a dog (quite a bit). Besides the queen, we also have our lioness, the general of the army who is a brutish older sister (noona) type of woman. She drinks, smokes and basically wants to f*ck with MC. It is explained a bit later why that is so. The other prevalent female characters are introduced a bit later into the story, in everyone's favourite arc, the academy arc😀. Jokes aside, the majority of the plot occurs while the characters attend the academy, but not all events happen in the academy (so a bit of traveling here and there).
Now I have to mention that a big part of this novel is due to our MCs status. Well let's say he is not of common blood. He has to continuously dodge bullets, like Neo, from the villainesses while trying to uncover his status, because we do not really know where he belongs in the hierarchy in the beginning of the story. So a big part of this novel is our MC gaslighting young women. And he is quite good at it too✍(take notes guys, you'll need them). Now, here is a small detail which some may hate or simply not bother about, the revenge. Our MC wishes to take revenge for his fallen bloodline, or the lack of it (sob sob), and he does that in the best way possible!!! Get the women responsible for it pregnant... yeah. Yeah. You heard me right. Our MC is planning on getting back at the women responsible by carrying his lineage. It is peculiar to say the least. I liked this type of revenge even though it may sound dumb. Hey, at least it is unique. Better than having the one millionth giga chad wannabe say that he is going to commit manslaughter to everyone. I would not mind that, but it is not really feasible here, because our MC does not really know who his family was, so he does not care about them that deeply. Even this type of revenge is more of a whim rather than a true revenge I would say.
As for the romance and Harem aspect of this novel. I quite enjoyed it. The characters introduced are solid, their train of thoughts are normal unlike some other stories, and most of all they are not dumb! Like, when they notice the MC starting to fool around, they will confront him rather than turning an eye away. Also, similar to real women (I know guys, they more of myths to us), they do not want to share their spouse. So when Theo is seen wandering around with someone other than them, sh*t is about to go down. Something I did not mention is that these women are a bit broken here and there, but as they say, the more broken the better. So our mc is gaslighting emotionally unstable women while trying to get them pregnant. I would say a big plug of this novel is the emotional development and relationship-development of the mc and fmcs. The MC has his own development, of trying to see them as actual people instead of objects of hatred and tries to help them. I won't be saying more about the since I could accidentally spoil a thing or two. And if you were planning to read, that would be a big oopsies.
I would love to rant more about this novel, from story to character development and so on, but I would have to go into spoiler territory and I do not wish to. Overall, the author has done a nice job with this novel. The author has also written 'Pseudo Resident’s Illegal Stay in Another World', and if you are familiar with this work, then you should enjoy this one as well. There are no nit-picks from me regarding this novel, so I give it 5 stars.
