Chapter 83: Fun (R18)

Christina drove, her grip firm on the wheel. In the front seat, Sophia sat close to Marcus, her fingers curled around his sleeve. Marcus hadn’t let her out of his sight since they’d left, his gaze flicking to her every so often.

In the back, Liam sat beside Isabella. The space between them felt wider than it was. Isabella stared out the window, unreadable, while Liam kept his eyes ahead.

The ride was quiet—not heavy, just full of things that didn’t need saying.

Liam leaned against the window, watching the city slip past. He was tired, but that had nothing to do with the long day. His mind was already ahead, thinking past this moment, past the brief quiet they’d been given.

Isabella sat beside him, unreadable. But he could feel the shift in her. The way her fingers tapped once against her knee, the way her gaze wasn’t just looking, but calculating.

She was already moving forward.

By the time they arrived at the house, the air had changed again—warmer, softer. The scent of slow-roasted lamb and fresh rosemary lingered in the air, a quiet welcome. Chef Maria had outdone herself, as always.

Liam didn’t hesitate, shrugging off his coat and dropping into one of the dining chairs.

Christina sighed, taking her seat beside him. "You ever act like you belong somewhere?"

Liam poured himself a glass of wine, taking his time before answering. "If I did, I’d lose my charm."

Christina huffed a laugh.

Sophia hesitated at the table, looking small but not timid. Marcus nudged her seat out, not saying a word, just waiting until she finally climbed up beside him.

The first few minutes were quiet. Then Liam set his glass down, glancing across the table.

"So, Sophia." His tone was easy, the same one he used when pulling people in without them realizing. "Serious question. You ever met someone that talks so much they forget to listen?"

Sophia blinked, considering. Then, slowly, she nodded.

Liam sighed. "Yeah, me too. It’s exhausting."

Christina rolled her eyes. "If you say me, I swear—"

"I didn’t say anything."

Sophia’s lips twitched, and just like that, the air shifted. The tension that had been sitting between them, quiet and heavy, started to ease.

Even Isabella seemed to settle, watching the exchange with something almost amused in her gaze.

The food was good, the conversation careful at first, then easier. Liam made it that way—naturally pulling people in, giving them space to breathe without feeling like they had to. Even Marcus, still rigid with whatever was running through his head, let some of it go.

By the time plates were nearly empty and glasses half-full, Sophia was fighting off exhaustion.

Marcus stood first. "Come on."

Sophia blinked up at him, fighting a yawn.

"Bed," he said, like it wasn’t a question.

She frowned but slid off her chair, letting him lead her out. Christina followed, her gaze flicking briefly to Isabella before she disappeared down the hall.

The second they were gone, Isabella stood.

Liam was still seated, one arm resting on the back of his chair, wine glass balanced between his fingers. He watched her move, his expression easy, but his eyes sharp.

Isabella lifted her glass to her lips, pausing just long enough before meeting his gaze.

She didn’t speak, but the way she looked at him—the slight tilt of her head, the flicker of something unreadable in her eyes—said enough.

Then—

"Liam."

He raised a brow. "Yeah?"

"Come with me."

There was no hesitation. He set his glass down, pushed his chair back, and followed.

As they walked, he could feel Christina’s gaze lingering from the hallway.

But she didn’t say anything.

And he didn’t look back.

Isabella’s room was quiet, the air still heavy with the weight of the day. Liam closed the door behind them, the click loud in the silence.

Isabella moved to the window, her back to him, fingers tracing the edge of the sill.

Liam waited, letting the quiet settle between them. He knew her well enough to know that pushing wouldn’t get him anywhere. She’d tell him what she wanted, in her own time.

Finally, she turned, her expression unreadable. "Marcus needs to retire."

Liam nodded, unsurprised. "I figured as much."

"Have been thinking about it for days, but he won’t do it. Not without a solid reason."

"So what do you need me to do?" His tone was even, neutral. He didn’t know what she was thinking, but he trusted her enough to know she had a plan.

Isabella’s lips curved, just a little. "I need you to convince him."

Liam raised a brow. "And how exactly am I supposed to do that?"

She stepped closer, her gaze holding his. "You’ll think of something."

He studied her for a long moment. Then, slowly, he reached out, his fingers brushing against her cheek. "And what do I get in return?"

Her breath caught, just for a second. Then she leaned into his touch, her eyes never leaving his. "What do you want?"

He let his hand fall, his thumb brushing over her bottom lip. "I can think of a few things."

She smirked, stepping back just enough to break the contact. "I’m sure you can."

Then she turned, moving towards the bed. She sat on the edge, her legs crossed, her posture relaxed. But there was something in her eyes, something that made his pulse jump.

"Liam." Her voice was low, barely above a whisper. "Come here."

He didn’t hesitate, crossing the distance between them in a few strides. He stood in front of her, looking down at her, his hands in his pockets.

She reached out, her fingers curling around the waistband of his jeans. She tugged, just a little, and he stepped closer, until he was standing between her thighs.

She looked up at him, her eyes dark. "Kiss me."

He didn’t need to be told twice. He leaned down, his hand cupping the back of her neck, his lips meeting hers in a slow, deep kiss. She responded immediately, her lips parting under his, her tongue sliding against his.

He let himself get lost in it for a moment, the rest of the world falling away until it was just the two of them, just the feel of her lips against his, the taste of her mouth.

But then she pulled back, her breath coming fast. She looked up at him, her eyes hazy with desire. "Take off your shirt."

He complied, pulling it over his head and dropping it to the floor. Her gaze raked over his chest, her hands following the path of her eyes.

"Lie down," she said, her voice husky.

He didn’t question it, lowering himself to the bed beside her. She straddled him, her hips pressed against his, her hands on his chest.

She leaned down, her lips brushing against his ear. "I want you to touch me."

He slid his hands up her thighs, his thumbs rubbing slow circles on the sensitive skin. She shivered, a quiet sound escaping her throat.

He continued his path up her body, his hands sliding under her shirt, his fingers skimming the skin of her waist, her ribs, the swell of her breasts.

She arched into his touch, her head falling back, a soft moan falling from her lips. "Uhh~uhh"

He took his time, exploring every inch of her skin, committing it to memory. He wanted to map out every curve, every dip, every spot that made her gasp and shudder.

She ground down against him, the friction driving him crazy. He could feel his control slipping, the need to have her, all of her, overwhelming.

But he held back, focusing on her pleasure instead of his own. He wanted to make this good for her, wanted to show her how much he wanted her, how much he needed her.

He rolled them over, pinning her beneath him. He kissed down her neck, his teeth grazing her pulse point. She whimpered, her nails digging into his back.

"Liam," she breathed, her voice barely above a whisper. "Please."

He didn’t know what she was asking for, but he didn’t need to. He knew what he wanted.

He slid his hand under her skirt, his fingers brushing against the damp fabric of her panties. She arched into his touch, a low moan falling from her lips.

He rubbed slow circles over her clothed heat, feeling her grow wetter with every passing second. He wanted to slip his fingers under the fabric, feel her bare skin, feel her heat.

But he held back, content to tease her for now. He wanted to draw this out, wanted to make her fall apart under his touch.

He kissed down her chest, his tongue dipping under the neckline of her shirt. She gasped, her hands fisting in his hair.

He pulled back just enough to look up at her, his eyes dark with desire. "Tell me what you want."

She stared at him for a long moment, her chest heaving with every breath. Then she reached down, her hand cupping the bulge in his jeans.

"I want you," she said, her voice low and husky. "I want you to make me feel good."

He groaned, his hips pressing into her touch. He was hard, aching for release. But he held back, focusing on her instead.

He slid his hand under her skirt again, this time slipping under the waistband of her panties. He groaned at the feel of her bare skin, hot and slick against his fingers.

She whimpered, her hips rocking against his hand. He rubbed slow circles over her clit, feeling her grow wetter with every passing second.

He slipped a finger inside her, then another, pumping slowly. She gasped, her head falling back against the pillow.

"Uhh~uhh~"

He continued his movements, curling his fingers just right to hit that spot that made her see stars. She bucked against him, her nails digging into his shoulders.

He could feel her tightening around him, could feel her body tensing as she got closer and closer to the edge.

He leaned down, his lips brushing against her ear. "Come for me," he whispered, his voice low and rough. "Let go."

She did, her body shaking with the force of her orgasm. He continued his movements, drawing out her pleasure until she was boneless beneath him.

Then he pulled back, looking down at her with a satisfied smirk. "That was just a preview," he said, his voice low and teasing. "The real fun is yet to come."

She laughed, a breathless sound that made his heart skip a beat. Then she pulled him down for a kiss, long and deep and full of promise.

He couldn’t wait to see what the future held.
