Chapter 24: SysDi 24: Evan’s Preparation

When the morning came around, Evan woke up with a single thought it mind: follow his self-made guide starting today until before the day of the Entrance Exams.

His self-made guide includes the following:

First, finish his routines. He’ll never forget that because his family still needs to live. The corns are almost ready for harvest. He needs to check on those. Not to mention the berries for jam.

Second, the jam. Having his mom’s approval, he can make the jams now that he can send Sylvia when he’s done making them. They had already talked about it the night before. There was some reluctance from Sylvia before she agrees in the end. So now, Evan is getting the berries, making the jam, and sending it to the market for his mom to sell.

Third, sword training. He had been following what the book told him to. But following didn’t mean he’s a master with it yet. He knows the forms, but he still need to train more to make sure that every form is like second nature.

Fourth, exploration. He could either go and explore in the stone hill cave, or he can start exploring the other things he had gotten access to in his status panel. Besides, he also has the Void ability that he wanted to try out in a more controlled space where he’s not actively about to die.

Fifth, reading. A lot of people may think that reading is boring and Evan did too. However, after getting the watch, he found out that books do contain a lot of knowledge not being taught practically by his parents. He had gotten plenty of new ideas from them. He knows that if he keeps reading, it will be much easier for him to understand the abilities that the watch has given him. He’s not going to say no from more knowledge.

Sixth, the Simulation Zone. He still needed to train more of his control with it. Iva kept telling him that he couldn’t cancel the zone midway during a conditional moment. Evan had no idea what that means. But what it said only translated that he’s either not strong enough or that he still doesn’t have a better control.

And finally, seventh, meditation. This would go in between each of the guides. Evan still didn’t know if it is helping him in the long-run. In the short bursts of rest does help him though. If he is a little tired, he was able to use meditation to replenish either physical or mental exhaustion. So, even for temporary relief, it was still helpful.

With the self-made guide in mind, Evan set foot to do them right after eating breakfast.

Evan saw that the corns were ready for harvest in two days time. He made sure to remind himself to tell his dad about that later tonight.

Then again, he knew that his dad would probably be more aware of that than he is.

When he got the berries, he was quick with it. Picking the high-quality ones were like breathing- easy and quick.

The mushroom was still a struggle for him to do, since he had just finished with the trial and errors he did for the fruits and vegetables a week ago. So now, he is using the Simulation Zone for the mushrooms.

A moist pot of incomplete harvested mushrooms later, Evan found himself with clean hands as he began making the jam. He had gotten a lot today and he managed to make two jars over the usual.

He placed the jars in the basket and he began making his way towards the market.

The market is on the east side of their little village, which meant that it was more walking distance than the library is. He politely smiles at those familiar faces that he doesn’t remember names from and beelined towards where he remembered his mother works at.

"Mom?" He calls, after reaching the second stall from the right.

Sylvia turns around to look at her son, a gentle smile on his face. "Hello dear. You have the jam?"

Evan nods his head and placed the basket. "I made two over for a total of 12."

After placing the jars on the counter in front of her, some customers take notice and became interested.

Sylvia sighs a little and kissed Evan’s forehead. "It’s a popular choice nowadays, our jam that is. Thank you for the delivery, dear. I’ll see you at dinner."

Evan could only nod his head as he watched customers flock the stall his mother is behind of. Some people really like the jam? He didn’t really like them but if people do, he will continue making them.

He made his way back home, planning on continuing his guide. It was time for sword training.

He was about to start using a pointy stick when he head a small ’ehem’ echoing in his head that made him sigh.

"What is it, Iva?’ Evan asked.

I know a more efficient way for you to learn about swords~’ Iva says in almost a sing-song tone.

Evan raised an eyebrow. "What is it?"

Iva giggles. ’Silly! Did you already forget that you have an access to the Slime Dungeon? You can just get there and gather practical experience.’

Evan almost facepalmed when he heard that. Truth be told, because he is so used into doing stuff in a more trial and error way, he forgot that there are some easier way to go about some things.

"Right. Thanks for reminding me." Evan says. Then he paused. He was trying to think how he’s going to go there.

He remembered getting access to Slime Dungeon, yes, but it also said that it is a Simulation Zone.

"Iva, does getting to that Slime Dungeon use one of my Simulation Zone usage?"

Yeah! Still much more efficient.’ Iva replied.

Evan nods his head. That’s a really good thing. He can train for his sword wielding and he can also train the Simulation Zone with it? That’s very efficient!
