Chapter 139: Chapter 139: Just Go Die

"Sir, are you okay?"

Sang Ning knelt on one knee and lightly patted the man’s shoulder.

Heaven knows, she didn’t mean to plop herself down like that. She genuinely didn’t see this man here.

The man didn’t respond, his eyes tightly shut in obvious pain, his right hand pressing hard against his lower abdomen as bright red blood seeped through his fingers.

Sang Ning immediately stood up and turned to look back. Sure enough, her pants were stained with a large patch of blood.

Damn it! She had actually sat right on his wound earlier!

Sang Ning crouched down again, moved aside the man’s hand from his lower abdomen, then unfastened his suit jacket and began unbuttoning three buttons of his shirt from bottom to top.

The shirt hem opened to his waist, revealing the man’s toned abdominal muscles. The wound on his lower abdomen was still bleeding profusely, making it impossible to discern the shape of the injury.

Without hesitation, Sang Ning immediately took off her own jacket, folded it into a thick strip, and placed it over the man’s wound.

Then, she leaned toward him, her left hand slipping under his armpit while her right hand reached around his waist, gritting her teeth as she struggled to lift him up.

The man seemed severely injured. After Sang Ning managed to lift him, his head drooped limply onto Sang Ning’s shoulder.

From a distance, the two appeared tightly embraced.

To leverage her strength more effectively, Sang Ning rested her chin on the man’s shoulder and slowly reached down with both hands to grab onto the makeshift cloth strip she had just folded. She then pulled both ends, wrapping them behind the man, tying a bow knot by feel.

The man let out a muffled groan, instinctively curling his body and burying his head firmly in the crook of Sang Ning’s neck.

Sang Ning felt the scorching breath on her neck almost burning her skin. She quickly withdrew her hands, accidentally bumping into the weighty object in the man’s suit pocket.

Judging by the texture, it seemed to be nutrient liquid.

With one arm holding the man, Sang Ning reached into his suit pocket with the other hand. Sure enough, what she pulled out was nutrient liquid.

A handsome guy with nutrient liquid stuffed in his suit pocket? Sang Ning instantly found him less cool.

Sang Ning retrieved a total of three tubes of nutrient liquid. Holding them up to take a closer look, she noticed labels attached to each tube. One of them was marked "Healing Nutrient Liquid."

She singled out the tube labeled as such and put the other two back into the man’s suit pocket.

Then, shifting positions, she used her left hand to support the man’s upper body while holding the nutrient liquid in her right hand. She bit off the stopper of the vial and brought it close to the man’s lips.

But the man stubbornly pressed his lips together, causing the nutrient liquid to trickle down the corners of his mouth.

"What a waste!" Sang Ning lamented, her heart aching.

She covered the man’s mouth with force, trying to shove the spilled liquid back in, but her efforts were futile.

Instead, her excessive pressure almost suffocated the man.

Realizing his unconscious struggle, Sang Ning hurriedly released her hand, looking at him apologetically. "Sir, since you’re unwilling to cooperate, I’ll have to resort to some special tactics."

With that, Sang Ning grabbed the vial and crudely jabbed it into the man’s mouth, forcibly prying open his clenched teeth.

She tilted the man’s head back and poured the nutrient liquid down his throat.

As he was force-fed the nutrient liquid, the man groaned weakly in protest, his voice fragmented and powerless.

Sang Ning, however, showed no pity whatsoever. Worried he might waste the liquid, she raised the vial higher to quicken the pace of the feeding.

After finally finishing the feeding, Sang Ning placed the man back on the ground, diligently tidying his shirt and fastening the buttons one by one.

"Sir, having met me is your luck. Your fate wasn’t meant to end here," Sang Ning remarked as she finished dressing him, gazing at his handsome face with a sigh.

She had done everything she could to treat him. What happened next was up to fate.

Sang Ning wanted to get up and leave, but before she could fully stand, the man suddenly opened his fiercely sharp eyes, his gaze murderous.

Sang Ning froze, about to speak when the man abruptly sat up and grabbed her.

Sang Ning lost her balance, toppling onto the man’s chest, her hands instinctively clutching his broad back.

In the next moment, the man flipped her over, pinning her down on the ground, his rough hand clasping her slender neck, his narrowed eyes dangerous.

"Who gave you the audacity to touch me?" the man’s voice was low and terrifying, each word seemingly squeezed through his teeth.

Sang Ning was furious. This man had the nerve to act like the victim while she was the one wronged!

She used both hands, fiercely scratching at the man’s face with all her might.

But scratching him felt like scraping against an iron plate—his face was unscathed, yet her nails felt painfully bent as if they’d been snapped.

The sharp pain brought tears to her eyes, and Sang Ning began to cry pitifully, utterly lacking dignity.

For crying out loud! The man was this tough—how could he even get injured? That wasn’t scientific!

"Bro, I saved your life! I’m not even asking for gratitude, but at least don’t seek revenge!" Sang Ning stammered, trembling and tearful.

She was shaking with rage, but fearing the man’s uncontrollable strength might kill her with a single move, she tried hard to hide her fury.

"Oh, really?" Li Juezhou’s lips curled into a cold sneer, his icy gaze mocking. "You call that saving?"

She had started by inexplicably whacking him with a shovel, then continued furiously shoveling dirt onto him, repeatedly stabbing his lower abdomen in the process.

The fact that he hadn’t died outright was merely luck.

"Why doesn’t that count as saving?" Sang Ning retorted tearfully, her eyes reddening as she argued vehemently. "I dressed your wound and fed you nutrient liquid! Without me, you’d already be dead!"

Li Juezhou nudged the inside of his left cheek with his tongue, the pain in his mouth still faintly present.

If she hadn’t reminded him, he might have calmed down—but now he was even angrier. It was the first time he’d been subjected to such a crude method of receiving medication, his teeth nearly being knocked out.

"You’re better off dead," Li Juezhou said flatly. His tone was emotionless, but the hand gripping Sang Ning’s neck suddenly tightened.

Sang Ning felt a wave of despair. She could tangibly sense the man’s intense intent to kill.

She didn’t know his spiritual power level, but her body was already under his control, leaving her with no strength to resist or even lift a hand to stop him from killing her.

She could only gaze blankly as the coldness in the man’s eyes gradually deepened—it was as if he saw her as a lifeless object.

Sang Ning was unwilling to die like this. No matter how difficult life was, she’d never entertained thoughts of suicide. Her life couldn’t end so carelessly at the hands of a stranger.

She needed to save herself!

But her lips were constrained, she couldn’t even plead for mercy.

Remembering what Hu Zhi had once said—that her most effective asset was her face—Sang Ning knew that this man was cold-hearted and unlikely to fall for a Beauty Trap. But at the moment, this was her only weapon.

So, she forced herself not to look like a struggling ghost, adopting the appearance of a helpless, injured kitten. Her eyes brimmed with faint tears, and she lightly bit her lower lip, gazing vulnerably at the man before her.
