Xu Xiang thought for a while and said, "I still have to prepare the payment for those villagers. I hope that with these supplies, they could survive until the time to harvest the crops."

Xu Xiang thanked him, got into the horse carriage together with Mu Yucheng, and they left Mei Hua Village. On the eleventh night after Xiao Shao disappeared, there was a commotion in the middle of the night.

Everyone woke up the moment they heard the shout. When Xu Xiang came out from her room, Ying Yi and other hidden guards had already gone out to check what was happening. Before she could see what happened, Xu Xiang smelled blood in the air.

She and Mu Yucheng looked at each other before rushing out. Seeing that the hidden guards surrounded a person and everyone looked very panicked, Xu Xiang had a bad premonition. When she saw Xiao Shao on Ying Si’s back covered in blood and unconscious, her heart sank.

She rushed towards Ying Si, knelt down beside him and asked, "What’s wrong with him?"

After Ying Yi and Ying Si put Xiao Shao on the bed, Xu Xiang said, "Everyone, please go out."

Seeing her serious face, Ying Yi turned his head to look at his master again, and then walked out of the room with the other hidden guards. Xu Xiang looked back and found that Mu Yucheng was still standing there motionless.

Just when she was thinking of an excuse to ask him out, Mu Yucheng said calmly, "I will stay here just in case you need my help."
