Chapter 231: Lean On Me
Chapter 231: Lean On Me
A minute later, Mu Yucheng looked down at Xu Xiang, and saw her pale face. He slowed down and asked, "Are you alright?"
She nodded, but her lips tightened even more. Mu Yucheng looked at her pale face and the cold sweat on her face, thinking for a second, then he landed lightly on the ground. As soon as her feet hit the ground, Xu Xiang quickly ran to the side and vomited.
"Ugh..."
After emptying her stomach, she took out a bottle of warm boiled lake water and rinsed her mouth. Then she drank a few sips of water before regaining some strength. Xu Xiang leaned against a tree, wiping the water off her pale lips.
Mu Yucheng looked at her weak appearance and moved closer to her. He stood beside her, patted her on the back gently, and worriedly asked, "Do you feel better?"
Xu Xiang nodded and hummed weakly: "Mhm..."
He sighed and said, "It seems that you are not suitable to learn the Thousand Cloud Step technique."
She looked up at him and saw the helpless expression on his face. She looked away from him and thought: ’Who can handle this speed except you?’
After resting for a while, Xu Xiang felt much better. She put away the rest of the water into her space and said, "We lost her."
Mu Yucheng looked around and said, "We are now inside the illusion formation."
"Can you find the way out?" She asked again.
Mu Yucheng nodded. "Mhm."
After that, Xu Xiang took out her Anti-Gravity Skateboard and turned it on. She looked at Mu Yucheng and said, "Let’s use this. If you carry me again, I will really die."
He stared at her, and noticed that her face was still pale. Before Xu Xiang could pull him up to the skateboard, he was already standing behind her, put his arms around her waist, and pulled her closer.
When her back was pressed against his strong body, Xu Xiang froze. This was the first time she had such ambiguous contact with a man. Even in the apocalypse world, the closest contact she has with a man is nothing more than holding hands, or a casual hug between friends.
Seeing her standing there stiffly, he lowered his head and said, "You are still weak. Lean on me."
When he spoke, Xu Xiang could feel the vibration in his chest, and his warm breath fell on her cheek. When he spoke softly just now, his deep voice came into her ears and made her ears itchy. She couldn’t help but raise her hand and rubbed her ears.
She turned to look at his expressionless face and thought deeply. After a few seconds, she turned around and asked, "Where is the exit?"
Mu Yucheng pointed at the north and said, "There."
Xu Xiang nodded, and the Anti-Gravity Skateboard moved towards the direction he pointed.
At the same time, Xiao Shao and Huan Yun had already left the cave and came to a small village not far from the cave. Huan Yun patted her chest while panting heavily, looked at her surroundings, and found that there was no one around.
She took a few deep breaths, calmed down her frantic heartbeat, and said, "It should be safe here."
Unlike Huan Yun, Xiao Shao saw the green fields and the crops that were about to be harvested, and said, "Be careful. This place is not as safe as you think."
Huan Yun looked around, then looked at Xiao Shao, and said, "I didn’t see anything unusual."
Xiao Shao glanced at her and asked, "Miss Huan, haven’t you noticed that this village is full of greenery?"
After hearing his question, Huan Yun was stunned for a while, and said, "If you don’t tell me, I don’t even realize it."
As Xiao Shao said, this place is too good to be true. This was the first time she saw some green plants since she opened her eyes and realized that she had come to another world. From her past training and experience, Huan Yun knows that there is often something horrific hiding behind things that seem too good to be true.
Looking at her expression, Xiao Shao was thinking about how she and Xu Xiang became friends. The two of them have completely different personalities. With Xu Xiang’s personality, the chance of becoming friends with Huan Yun is very slim. When he was lost in thought, his gaze subconsciously became sharper.
Huan Yun was stared at by him, feeling invisible pressure descending on her body. She scratched her head awkwardly and asked, "Why are you staring at me like that? Are you going to fight me?"
"....." Listening to her words, Xiao Shao was speechless.
’Has her head been hurt before? Her brain works differently than normal people.’
Xiao Shao shook his head, ignored Huan Yun and walked towards a shed not far from where they were. Seeing that he didn’t answer her question and walked away, Huan Yun chased after him.
"Xiao Shao, why are you ignoring me? Where are you going?" She asked as she tried to catch up with his long legs.
Xiao Shao didn’t even look at her, and continued to walk forward. Huan Yun looked at his straight back, scratched her cheek, and murmured softly. "Did I do something that offends him?"
Unable to find an answer, she shrugged and followed behind him silently. After walking for a while, they came to the shed. Xiao Shao pushed open the wooden door and walked in.
Huan Yun peered inside and saw that there was a lot of hay there. She looked at Xiao Shao and asked, "What are you going to do here?"
Xiao Shao sat down on a pile of hay, closed his eyes, and said, "Get some rest. We will leave at dawn."
After hearing what he said, Huan Yun looked up at the starry night sky. If Xiao Shao doesn’t mention it, she doesn’t feel tired. But when she heard his words, her body became sore and her legs trembled. Only then did Huan Yun realize that she was able to persevere until now, purely relying on her instinct to survive.
