Surprise Marriage to a Billionaire
Chapter 298: Charades

Chapter 298: Charades

Rain and Sanya exchanged meaningful glances during dinner. Aunt Vernice had been staying with them in the mansion for the past few days, and both of them had quickly warmed to her.

She was easy to get along with bubbly, friendly, and surprisingly the only person who could match their father-in-law’s straightforwardness without hesitation.

After dinner, Sanya suddenly suggested, "How about we have a family game night out on the balcony by the fire?" But she quickly turned to Rain and asked with a chuckle, "Or do you need to work?"

Rain smiled. "It’s fine. I could use a break, so let’s do that!"

Vernice, overhearing the conversation, grinned widely. "Oh yes! Finally! I thought I’d be the only one up late tonight. It’s Saturday tomorrow, so let’s stay up all night!" she beamed.

Rain and Sanya laughed as Vernice took charge, giving instructions to the servant to bring drinks and snacks for their impromptu game night. It was a simple plan, but the kind of relaxed evening they all needed.

The night unfolded with laughter and lighthearted fun. As the fire crackled on the balcony, the group settled comfortably around it, each with a drink in hand. The warmth of the flames and the cool night air created the perfect atmosphere for their game night.

William, always ready for a challenge, was the first to suggest a game. "How about charades?" he grinned, nudging Alexander. "I’ll bet I can guess whatever you act out in less than five seconds."

Alexander raised an eyebrow, clearly amused by his brother’s confidence. "We’ll see about that," he replied with a smirk.

Father Rock, never one to back down from a little competition, leaned forward with a twinkle in his eye. "I’m in. Let’s see if anyone can out-act me," he joked, making everyone laugh. He had a knack for making even the simplest gestures entertaining.

Vernice, who Rain easily assumed to be always the life of the party, clapped her hands excitedly. "Alright, alright! Let’s do it! But no cheating, okay?" she added, wagging a finger at the men, all of whom were quick to deny any ill intentions.

"So let’s do this... It’s us girls against you boys," Vernice commented, then she started giving instructions on where the boys would decide what they wanted the girls to guess, and then the girls would decide on what the boys should guess.

The game was in full swing, and the boys had just started their round. Father Rock was the first to step up, and no one was prepared for the sheer theatrics he was about to deliver.

He took a deep breath, raised his arms dramatically to the sky, and started flailing around as if he were swimming. His movements were over-the-top, with every gesture exaggerated to the point that it almost looked like he was auditioning for a Broadway show.

"Is it... surfing?" William guessed, raising an eyebrow in confusion.

Father Rock paused for a moment, looking over at him with mock indignation. He deliberately shook his head and started frowning. He then began miming what could only be described as an absurd dance move, twirling and spinning like he was performing in a water ballet.

She with Sanya and Vernice burst into laughter, holding their stomach. "Oh my gosh, Rock, you look like you’re having a seizure!" Aunt Vernice chortled.

"Is it... swimming?" Alexander guessed next, trying to figure out what on earth he was doing. Rain giggled because he was close, but he had to give the complete words. Father Rock shook his head and made a sign with his index fingers.

"Two words?" Alexander hummed, and Father Rock nodded as he continued dancing. "Artistic swimming?"

Rock’s face lit up as he snapped his fingers. "Bingo!" he shouted as if he had just solved a great mystery. "It’s artistic swimming! I can’t believe it took you so long to guess that!"

Everyone laughed even harder, and Rain couldn’t stop giggling at how ridiculously serious Father Rock had been with his performance.

"Alright, alright, that was way too dramatic, Dad," William said, shaking his head with a grin.

"My turn."

William stood up, and while the others braced themselves for another performance, they were shocked at how subtle he was. He barely moved his body, only shifting his eyes and giving a very small, almost imperceptible nod. Then, with the most subtle gesture, he pulled his imaginary bowstring back and made a tiny, silent motion with his hands.

The group stared in confusion. "What is that supposed to be?" Father rock asked, furrowing his brow. "Is it... archery?"

William smiled a little, nodding as if he were confirming a great secret. "Got it," he said coolly.

Father Rock squinted at him, still unsure. "Wait, what? Archery? You didn’t even move!"

"Exactly," William said with a wide grin. "That’s the beauty of it. Subtlety. See how easily you guessed it with my performance? No sweat at all!"

Everyone laughed, and even the girls had to admit that William’s style had definitely kept them on their toes.

Next up was Alexander, who had a unique blend of both Rock’s drama and William’s cool confidence.

He stood with a serious look on his face, and then, with one swift move, he flexed both arms like he was showing off muscles. But instead of the usual flexing, he gave a little mock pose, puffing his chest out in an exaggerated manner as if he were on stage at a bodybuilding competition.

"Is it... lifting weights?" William guessed, laughing at Alexander’s serious expression. "I can’t believe I’ll get to see my brother in action like this! This is so much fun!" William burst out, and Rain couldn’t agree more.

Alexander didn’t say a word but gave a single raised eyebrow, followed by a wink and a dramatic, slow-motion flex. It was so smooth, that everyone couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

"You can’t be serious!" Vernice exclaimed, slapping her hand on her forehead. "That was just too much! Are you really Alexander? He just winked!"

Rain was nearly in tears from laughing so hard. "You’re so confident, Alexander, but that was like a bodybuilding ad from the 90s!"

William shook his head, still grinning. "I think he’s just trying to show off those muscles, Sis."

Alexander gave a dramatic sigh. "We all know it’s not about the muscles, it’s about the performance!"

"Okay, that was too much," Rain said, catching her breath from laughing. "But I think we can all agree... next round, it’s going to get even crazier!"
