Surprise Marriage to a Billionaire -
Chapter 267: A Wedding Celebration
Chapter 267: A Wedding Celebration
Days passed, and Rain kept herself occupied with work, her mind consumed by the daily grind. She hadn’t attended Dina’s funeral, as William had assured her father, the Lancaster family had handled everything discreetly.
The incident, including the deaths and the fire on the ship, was kept out of the news, with efforts made to protect her and Sanya from unwanted public scrutiny.
The weekend came and went in a blur, with Alexander and William accompanying Father Rock to his chemotherapy session, as planned.
Despite all that was going on, Rain had put telling about her research facility to Alexander on hold. She had intended to discuss her laboratory findings with Alexander, but the news about their test patient losing consciousness for almost four days had made her hesitant...
Now, it was Monday, and Rain readied herself to head out. Today was significant... she was going to stand as a witness for Aunt Melanie and Sanya as they officially registered their marriage certificate at the Bureau of Civil Registrar. It was a small but important step in their journey, and Rain was glad to be part of it.
Despite the weight of everything happening around her, Rain couldn’t help but smile, knowing that at least some things were progressing in the right direction. She quickly exited her bedroom and headed toward her Aunt Melanie’s room to check if she was ready.
As soon as she saw her aunt, she couldn’t help but praise, "You look absolutely stunning."
Her aunt’s face turned pink, and she beamed at the compliment. Melanie was wearing a white off-shoulder dress that made her look much younger than her actual age. Rain walked over and carefully placed the ruby-stone jewellery she had bought for her aunt around her neck. The rubies matched her birth month perfectly.
"These are so beautiful. They must have cost a fortune, Rain. You really shouldn’t have..." her aunt gasped as she admired the pieces.
"You deserve more than this, Aunt," Rain responded with a smile. "And don’t worry, your niece is actually quite rich. I can afford to buy these things." She chuckled playfully.
Her aunt raised an eyebrow and quipped, "So how come I don’t see you buying expensive things for yourself?"
Rain chuckled, shaking her head. "You know I’m not into those things. I’m the practical type. But this is a special occasion, and I wanted to give you something meaningful. Plus, I have a rich husband now, so even when I don’t ask, he showers me with luxurious gifts."
Her aunt’s smile softened. "I’m so happy for you, Rain. Not only did you marry a reliable man, but someone who truly loves and cares for you, someone who’ll protect you and keep you safe."
Rain smiled warmly, her heart swelling with gratitude for Alexander. "I feel the same way, Aunt. He’s truly amazing."
With a teasing grin, Melanie pulled Rain to her feet. "And you’re about to marry a very reliable man yourself, someone who will take care of you and protect you. Now, let’s not keep them waiting. William’s already left to pick up Sanya."
Rain chuckled, feeling a wave of happiness for her aunt as they prepared to leave.

Rain was overflowing with joy as she stood by, holding the papers as a witness for both William and Sanya’s marriage registration, and for Uncle Ben and Aunt Melanie’s. She couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride and happiness, knowing that the important women in her life would now be living permanently under the same roof as hers.
Her heart swelled as she looked at Aunt Melanie, who had been through so much, and now, she was starting this new Chapter with Uncle Ben. Rain was also excited for Sanya and William, who had found their own way back to each other after everything they had been through.
Although Rain had heard that the couples would be going on a short honeymoon, the day still felt incredibly special. Uncle Ben and Aunt Melanie would stay for a quiet three-day retreat at Sinclair Winery and Vineyard, while William and Sanya were set to embark on a luxurious ten-day honeymoon aboard a cruise ship once William wrapped up his business commitments.
"Let’s all have lunch now!" Father Rock exclaimed, his enthusiasm contagious as they walked out of the building. "I’ve got something specially prepared at Sinclair Winery and Vineyards!"
Rain smiled, giving Aunt Melanie and Sanya a heartfelt congratulations before stepping into Alexander’s car.
The group drove in three cars, heading to Sinclair Estate. Rain felt a surge of excitement as she hadn’t had the chance to tour the estate properly after hearing about the changes and renovations Alexander had made.
When they arrived, they were greeted by live music, guitar strings, the soft hum of a flute, and drums, along with the welcoming sounds of laughter and celebration. The entrance was beautifully decorated for the occasion, with ribbons, flowers, and lanterns, and they were promptly escorted to the spacious garden for lunch.
It was alive with energy, as most of the Lancaster and Sinclair families, along with the closest friends of the newlyweds, gathered to celebrate. Tables were laden with delicious-looking dishes, and the aroma of freshly cooked food wafted through the air. It was impossible not to feel the warmth of the celebration as they were escorted to their seats.
Everyone who knew Ben and William from the winery and vineyard offered their congratulations, followed by an assortment of thoughtful gifts. Rain couldn’t help but smile as she watched her aunt Melanie, shy but glowing with happiness, as Uncle Ben introduced her to everyone with pride.
"How come we’re able to celebrate William and Ben’s marriage, but not Alexander’s?" Ava complained, breaking the cheerful chatter around them.
Rain chuckled softly, exchanging a meaningful glance with Alexander. After all, no one had known about their initial marriage being a sham except for Sanya, William, Ben, and Father Rock. The secret had been well kept.
"That’s true," Maria, Alexander’s aunt from his mother’s side, chimed in with a playful frown. "We all know how Alexander is the quiet type and doesn’t like gatherings, but still, a wedding celebration, or at least a marriage celebration, should have been held!"
Rain glanced at Alexander, her smile growing. They had been through so much together, and while the story of their marriage was far from typical, the love and bond they shared was real.
Alexander opened his mouth to speak, "We’re going to have—"
"Is that Carla? She’s already back in the country?!" Aunt Ava suddenly exclaimed, staring in a particular direction.
Rain followed Aunt Ava’s gaze, and right then, she saw Carla Cartier approaching with a wide smile on her face...
