Rain jolted upright.

"What’s wrong?" Alexander muttered, his hazy eyes on her. He was taken aback when she suddenly grabbed his wrist and glanced at his fingers. Her eyes widened, and she gasped, "My monthly period."

"Thanks," she murmured without looking at him before quickly closing the door. By the time she emerged, their bed had already been replaced with new sheets.
