Chapter 992: Chapter 832: Not in the Same Dimension
The surgery had been arranged, and naturally, Director Fang from the General Surgery Department wouldn’t miss this opportunity. He volunteered to be the first assistant, and there was no room for negotiation.
He did so because he had his reasons. The patient had come through his hands, and he was the attending physician—he had to be responsible for the patient. Moreover, compared to the youngsters from the Surgical Research Institute, he had deeper seniority at the hospital.
Old Fang was also a man with ideas and ideals. He didn’t want to bumble along without achievement; he wanted to become a world-class expert in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery. How would he do that? Of course, by closely following Professor Yang’s lead.
Director Fang saw the current situation very clearly; whoever could keep pace with Professor Yang would make a name for themselves.
So, he now had to set a rule for the young ones: from now on, any patient he brought in, he would be the first assistant, and no one should challenge that.
Although these young doctors were all academic wizards, some of them exceptionally skilled in surgeries, Old Fang was also the Director at Sanbo, his status and experience clear. He’d mix with you all but also needed to secure his own space, and that space was the position of the first assistant.
Of course, this face would still be given. After Director Fang candidly made this request, no one rebutted or competed with him for it. There were plenty of opportunities here; one could literally grab a handful just by reaching out.
Yuan Yulin and Nie Shun’e now felt very secure in their hearts. Professor Yang was different from any other doctor they had seen before, very confident.
This confidence didn’t come from the kind of chest-thumping talk usually shown but from a strong inner strength that emanated an impressive aura, perhaps what’s referred to as "presence."
Moreover, Yuan Yulin and Nie Shun’e’s thorough investigation also corroborated Professor Yang’s capabilities. Southeast Asian tycoons buying properties near the hospital was well-known among locals; anyone casually queried could give a rough account.
Regarding Professor Yang Ping, everyone who opened shops or set up stalls around knew him well—they all recognized him as a brilliant doctor famous for publishing 13 papers.
And what most convinced the couple was that even the guards and cleaning ladies here knew about journals, knew about CNS and SCI journals. When a foreigner asked for directions, a guard even managed to spit out a few sentences in English—a clearly different class.

After being discharged from the hospital, Guo Peihua made a decisive move. He immediately sold his original house and bought one near the hospital and tried to work from home as much as possible, keeping his activities close to the hospital.
Since moving near the hospital, Guo would often stroll into the wards of the Surgical Research Institute, which was a good thing. Whenever doctors and nurses had minor issues with their computers, they would just call him to handle it, saving the trouble of calling colleagues from the IT department, who sometimes were too busy to respond quickly.
"Guo Peihua! Help with this computer, it’s a bit lagging."
A standardized training student knocked on the computer a few times, as its speed was unsatisfactory and it was lagging severely.
Guo Peihua was always delighted to receive such tasks. He was even more dedicated than the hospital’s IT staff and would immediately rush over to fix the computer issue.
"You cram everything into the C drive; it’s almost exploding. I’ll fix it for you."
Guo Peihua fiddled around and resolved the problem, quickly returning the computer to the standardized training student, who now found it very handy to use. Having such an unofficial dedicated engineer in the department wasn’t bad at all.
The desktops of doctors’ computers were often cluttered with all sorts of things. When using the computers, they only cared about functionality, never considering healthy usage practices.
Sanbo Hospital was still okay; these computers were genuinely new. If it had been any other hospital, many clinical doctors would be using old machines handed down from administrative staff. Combined with a not-so-perfect HIS system, the old computers with the lousy system made no doctor’s computer easy to use.
The younger doctors were still okay, but if an older doctor encountered a lagging computer during outpatient hours, it could frustrate them enough to quite literally spurt out blood in anger.
After helping the doctors fix their computer issues, Guo Peihua, having nothing else to do, made his rounds and then left.
He left his phone number in the doctors’ office, ready to help with any computer issues at any time.
The head nurse held a notebook in the doctors’ office to register names. Mr. Guo had developed such a huge property, using only the top of one building to develop his penthouse for personal use. The rest of the units still had to be sold; he couldn’t possibly live in so many houses himself.
Mr. Guo said he wanted to give every doctor and nurse from the Surgical Research Institute one unit each, but the hospital could definitely not accept this. Medical staff emphasized selfless dedication and couldn’t possibly accept such large material gifts.
So, Mr. Guo approached Dean Xia and said, "Well then, how about this—I want the naming rights for a community. I’ll name it Sanbo Courtyard. Do you agree? I’ll give a naming fee of several billion."
Dean Xia thought it over. This was a legitimate matter; As long as it was legitimate, it was manageable.
Mr. Guo then said, "Then, in addition, I’ll offer all hospital staff an 80% market price for the properties, and a 50% discount for the staff of the Surgical Research Institute. That’s not against the rules, right?"
"If I were to give you, Dean Xia, a personal benefit, that would be against the rules, but I’m giving benefits to the hospital, and I’m not gaining any personal benefits from it. This is my voluntary offer. Is it against the rules?"
Dean Xia felt it indeed wasn’t against the rules, so he signed the contract. Naming it was just naming—little did he expect that the name "Sanbo" would be so valuable. The hospital needed money for many purposes, and this sum could accomplish a lot.
The head nurse went around to ask and register those who wanted to buy houses. Only a fool would not buy one.
