Supremely Talented Tyrant -
Chapter 962 - 961: With This Stupid Look of Yours...
"What are you doing?!"
Compared to the nannies, Qi Jin and his group were fewer in number. As a result, they only targeted the ones closest to them. The others, witnessing the sudden chaos, froze momentarily, but as soon as they came to their senses, they shouted loudly.
"What are we doing?!"
Hearing that, Qi Jin feigned being enraged and laughed sarcastically before roaring, "I was kind enough to hire you to work at my villa recently, and you had the audacity to steal my most prized possession!"
"Do you even know what that treasure is? It's an exquisite jade, worth tens of millions! And now, after I caught you red-handed, you still dare to play dumb?!"
"You... you're lying!"
These nannies couldn't recall ever having such an employer, let alone stealing a jade worth millions. They'd never engaged in outright theft, though they didn't hesitate to leverage public pressure against employers.
Upon hearing this, Qi Jin let out a cold laugh. "It seems you're determined not to confess, huh?"
"You… you… you there! Yes, you! Exactly you!"
As he spoke, Qi Jin pointed at a few nannies, snorting coldly. "You lot—I'd recognize you even if you'd turned to ashes! You're the frauds pretending to be nannies who stole from my home! And now, you have the nerve to parade around and pull more scams?"
"What?!" The nannies were thoroughly confused. They didn't recall a boss like him, but they held back from retorting immediately, worried that it might really be the employer of one of their accomplices causing trouble.
Truthfully, Qi Jin had randomly pointed people out. He didn't even know their names. His goal was just to blow the situation out of proportion. The more aggressive he appeared, the more believable he'd seem. After all, who would suspect someone so furious to be acting?...
Now Qi Jin was piling accusations onto the nannies, ensuring that the reporters in the distance caught every word he said…
What those reporters would think after hearing him wasn't something Qi Jin cared to deliberate. But he figured it wouldn't deviate much from what he expected: the story would soon spread online.
Meanwhile, those reporters didn't care about verifying the truth of the news. All that mattered was attracting enough traffic...
"Since when did we ever have a client like you?!" After conferring among themselves and finding no such person, the nannies were infuriated. Though they'd scammed quite a few clients, they could swear they'd never encountered this man before. Especially those whom Qi Jin had singled out—they were utterly baffled. It soon dawned on them that Qi Jin must've been sent by Yuan Shanshan to retaliate against them.
But by this point, the situation had already turned against them. Even as they tried thinking of ways to counter Qi Jin, they realized that nothing they said would be believed. They were now cornered just like Yuan Shanshan had been before. Even if they knew they were innocent, who would believe them?...
"Boss, why waste words on these whores? You've gotta teach them a proper lesson—otherwise, they won't know their place!" Qi Jin's accomplices joined in enthusiastically. After landing a few more punches on some of the nannies, they waved their fists menacingly, aiming straight for the others' faces again.
Soon, the dull thuds of fists meeting flesh resounded continuously, accompanied by the relentless clicking of cameras and the hum of camcorders held by the reporters.
"That should just about do it..."
Inside the villa, Hao Jian, who had been keeping an eye on the situation, nodded slightly. He pulled out his phone, dialed Spice Ginger, and said, "Spice Ginger, send me twenty of our toughest guys. There's going to be some serious action here."
"Young Master Hao, do you need me to join in?"
Upon hearing that Hao Jian required fighters, Spice Ginger slapped the table and asked. These days, any random punk dared to mess with Hao Jian—were these people tired of living?!
Spice Ginger was livid. Not only because these nannies had stirred up trouble for Hao Jian, but also because they didn't even know who they were dealing with before acting recklessly!
Harming Hao Jian meant disregarding Spice Ginger entirely. In Hua City, Spice Ginger was the undisputed king of the underworld. Anyone who knew of him wouldn't dare disrespect him.
But now, someone had dared to humiliate Hao Jian. And humiliating Hao Jian was as good as slapping Spice Ginger in the face! Not a soft slap, either—but a thunderous, echoing one!
"No need. Just send people over to back me up. As for the actual fight, there'll be plenty of opportunities later. Since these pests dared to provoke me this time, I'll deal with them myself!"
Without hesitation, Hao Jian rejected Spice Ginger's offer.
"Alright, Young Master Hao, I'll send them over right now!" Spice Ginger, unfazed by the refusal, wasn't surprised. He understood Hao Jian's personality—once he made a decision, there was no changing his mind. So instead of pressing further, he focused on his job.
In situations like these, doing his part well was the most important thing.
"Boss, there's trouble on our side! Get help over here immediately!" One of the nannies frantically called her boss, her eyes twitching as she watched her comrades being ruthlessly beaten with batons. Though she hadn't been targeted yet, she knew it was only a matter of time. Panicked, she urgently called the shady agency.
"What? Which blind fool dares ruin my operation? I'll be there in two minutes!"
The nanny's boss, hearing the news, darkened his expression. It had been a long time since his subordinates were last attacked.
These nannies were women, and he'd always assumed that even if someone wanted to retaliate, they wouldn't go too hard. He hadn't expected this group to strike with full force—and with telescopic batons, no less!
He was personally familiar with the pain those batons inflicted. That bone-deep agony wasn't something just anyone could endure. Most of his nannies wouldn't last beyond two hits!
"Stall them as best you can. I'll be there in two minutes!"
Although the nanny was shaky, her boss heard her loud and clear. Besides, his informants nearby had already reported the commotion. By the time she called, he was already seated in a prepared van.
"Got it!"
Knowing they'd just have to endure for two minutes, the nanny's eyes lit up. She felt a surge of relief. At least she wouldn't have to go through the suffering herself…
But as she relaxed, she failed to notice a pair of eyes fixing on her from not too far away. The eyes' owner, upon seeing her hang up the phone, widened his gaze slightly before the corner of his mouth curled into a smile.
So, you've finally passed the word along? Now that it's out, it's time I deal with you!
The owner of those eyes was Qi Jin. He took a step forward, gripping his telescopic baton as he approached the nanny. Behind him, over a dozen other nannies lay unconscious at his lackeys' feet. Fortunately for them, being women, they hadn't been hit too hard—just knocked out.
"What are you doing?!"
The nanny, who had been trying to hold out until her boss's arrival, turned pale when she saw Qi Jin approach and spoke in a panicked voice.
"What am I doing?! You know full well!"
Qi Jin snorted coldly and swung his baton toward the woman's stomach. Striking this spot would deliver maximum pain without causing serious harm!
How dare these people frame Young Master Hao's woman? No way they'd get away with it!
"Stop!"
Just as the baton struck and the nanny doubled over in pain, clutching her stomach and sinking to the ground, a gray van screeched around the corner. A furious roar erupted from inside the vehicle.
"Bastard!"
The driver jumped out of the van, wild-eyed at the sight of nannies sprawled across the ground, while reporters stood idly by, clicking and filming the scene nonstop. Veins bulged on his forehead in rage.
These were his carefully groomed subordinates!
Now they all lay scattered on the ground as if dead, and the medical costs alone would be astronomical. Damn it!
"Hahaha, looks like we've finally baited the big fish!"
Seeing the man, Qi Jin narrowed his eyes and laughed. He recognized this guy—a small-time mafia boss in the area. During reconnaissance, Qi Jin had investigated him but dismissed him due to his insignificance.
Yet now, this oversight had allowed the man to target Hao Jian indirectly. And that was Qi Jin's gross negligence.
"Ding Li, looking at your stupid face, I'm honestly at a loss for words..."
