Supremely Talented Tyrant -
Chapter 894 - 893 No Words Said
"Crushing Mountain Strike!"
On the sidelines, Secretary Zhang's heart was already in his throat. Especially when Ling Bing's fists were just a punch's distance from Hao Jian's chest, his hands clenched tightly.
But when he saw Hao Jian's fists, which had been held aloft above his head, suddenly curve at a strange angle and appear on either side of Ling Bing, the smile on Ling Bing's face instantly vanished. His expression changed drastically as he swiftly altered his direction, redirecting his fists to meet Hao Jian's offensive.
This time, Hao Jian truly demonstrated to Ling Bing what it means to "encircle Wei to rescue Zhao."
"Boom!"
Their attacks collided in that instant, unleashing an utterly ferocious gust of wind from the point of impact, sweeping outward. Their legs staggered apart and trembled violently, kicking up the dust on the ground.
"Rippp!"
As the Qi Force dissipated from their backs, a crisp sound of fabric tearing reverberated. The clothes on their backs split open from the tension.
"Thud!"
Upon contact, the immense force in Hao Jian's hands surged into Ling Bing's body. Though Ling Bing managed to dispel much of it, a residual Qi Force lingered inside, forcing him to spit out a mouthful of fresh blood. His entire body was subsequently blasted backward by Hao Jian.
"Tap, tap, tap…"
When Ling Bing landed, he quickly neutralized the impacting force, leaving a series of uneven footprints on the ground. It wasn't until seven or eight meters back that he depleted all the Qi Force, spraying out another mouthful of blood. Supporting himself with one hand on the ground, he gasped heavily, evidently having lost the strength to continue fighting.
"Whoa!"
Seeing Ling Bing defeated by Hao Jian, every face turned pale with disbelief. Gasps erupted all around in astonishment!
"Brother Ling Bing was actually defeated?! This… this is impossible!"
"Impossible! This can't be! How could this happen?!"
"That brat definitely concealed much of his strength earlier during our sparring; otherwise, there's no way this would've happened!"
"Damn it! Even Brother Ling Bing couldn't win!"
All the Special Forces soldiers were whispering among themselves, their faces full of disbelief as they looked down at Ling Bing, who struggled to stand. Shock flickered in their eyes.
"So strong…"
Secretary Zhang took a deep look at Hao Jian, whose clothes were merely torn. The fog of mystery surrounding this man seemed to grow heavier. Even the top master of the military district had been defeated by him, and his strength appeared far superior to Ling Bing.
Perhaps this guy hadn't even exerted his full strength…
As this thought arose, it gave Secretary Zhang quite a scare. If this hypothesis were true, then Hao Jian's power was terrifyingly extraordinary. No wonder the Minister valued him so highly—someone of such strength could bring unimaginable benefits to their cause…
In ancient terms, he was like a mighty general capable of holding a pass against ten thousand enemies!
"Whew… So this guy had such strength all along, yet he made me worry for so long."
With a light exhale, Secretary Zhang felt a bit speechless as he looked at Hao Jian. He knew Hao Jian was powerful, but how powerful exactly, this guy had never really disclosed. All Hao Jian had said was that he would win, but such a vague statement was hard to believe.
Still, it was fine—winning this time was already a great outcome. At least this guy wouldn't get dragged over to be chopped up by Dong Aiguo.
Shaking his head, Secretary Zhang tossed these thoughts aside and allowed a smile to creep onto his face. This man belonged to their side!
"Damn it!"
Dong Aiguo glared furiously at Hao Jian, who had defeated Ling Bing, punching a nearby steel pillar so hard that it left a shallow dent!
Dong Aiguo had promised Hao Jian that if he could defeat Ling Bing, he would no longer cause him trouble and would hand over the goods. But during that time, he never considered the possibility of Ling Bing losing. After all, to him, Ling Bing represented invincibility and absolute strength.
But now, this seemingly unbeatable power in his eyes had fallen at the hands of this simple brat! This… He couldn't believe it, nor was he willing to!
"No way! I absolutely can't swallow this defeat!"
Consumed by intense anger, Dong Aiguo's expression turned grim. His eyes gleamed as his mind raced for ways to extend the duel…
His shifting gaze flickered between Hao Jian and Ling Bing. Just as a new idea was taking form in his mind, Dong Aiguo suddenly noticed a pair of eyes locked onto him. Subconsciously tilting his gaze, his sight landed on Secretary Zhang!
"Elder Dong, I believe this duel has reached its conclusion. Remember to uphold your promise; don't disappoint the Minister!" Secretary Zhang spoke out upon noticing Dong Aiguo's wandering thoughts, knowing full well that this old fox was scheming to drag things out.
But Hao Jian had fought hard for this victory, and Secretary Zhang wouldn't let this sly old man sweep it under the rug with some random excuse. So, he invoked the Minister's name.
He was confident that mentioning the Minister would silence Dong Aiguo. Dong may not fear him, but when it came to the Minister, the old man had to show some respect.
In terms of power and rank, Dong Aiguo couldn't compare to the Minister.
"Hmph!"
Warned by Secretary Zhang, Dong Aiguo let out an irritated snort. The intensity of light in his eyes dimmed as he begrudgingly grunted back, "Since when do I, Dong Aiguo, need guidance on how to act? I said if he defeated my subordinate, I wouldn't cause him trouble anymore. He's won, so I'll honor my word."
Damn it!
Even as he said it, Dong Aiguo burned with fury inside. His chance for revenge for his son had slipped right through his fingers. He cast a piercing glance at Hao Jian, silently vowing to make his life miserable when the next opportunity came.
"Haha! Secretary Zhang!"
At this moment, Hao Jian returned and immediately hugged Secretary Zhang. Laughing heartily, he said, "Thank you so much this time!"
Even though there was still a distance between him, Secretary Zhang, and Dong Aiguo, Hao Jian's extraordinary hearing enabled him to catch every word of Secretary Zhang's warning to Dong Aiguo with perfect clarity. Grateful, he cast Secretary Zhang an appreciative look.
Without Secretary Zhang's presence, even with victory secured, Dong Aiguo certainly wouldn't have honored his agreement so smoothly.
During the duel, Hao Jian suffered no major injuries—just tore his clothes while dispelling Qi Force from his back. As for Ling Bing, he had taken Hao Jian's Crushing Fist head-on. Though only half of Hao Jian's strength was used, it was still far more than someone of Ling Bing's caliber could withstand.
Initially intending to go all out against Ling Bing to showcase his power, Hao Jian reconsidered and chose to mask some of his ability. This was enemy territory—this victory was just the beginning. Dong Aiguo likely still had tricks up his sleeve.
Hao Jian didn't believe that someone as stubborn as Dong Aiguo would easily let go of the hatred for his son's death. Thus, he needed to create a false impression to mislead Dong Aiguo into underestimating him. That way, during future confrontations, he might face opponents whom Dong Aiguo mistakenly deemed strong enough.
"If you lacked sufficient strength, even invoking the Minister wouldn't have helped much. This victory is ultimately your own achievement. I merely played a minor role in facilitating it," Secretary Zhang replied with a slight smile, composed and modest. This non-arrogant demeanor revealed his high regard for Hao Jian—an exceptional quality to remain unfazed despite victory.
"Haha, let's not dwell on it. I need that old man to hand over my goods. My clients are in urgent need, and if I fail to deliver, my small business is doomed!"
Acknowledging Secretary Zhang's advice, Hao Jian nodded affirmatively. True strength dictated every situation's tone. Without power, expecting esteemed individuals far above one's rank to treat you as an equal was unrealistic.
"Small business?"
Hearing these words, Secretary Zhang shook his head in mild disbelief, remarking, "If what you call a small business counts as such, then there wouldn't be any corporations left in this world. I seriously doubt your enterprises would crumble from one failure."
"Heh."
Scratching his head sheepishly, Hao Jian chuckled before turning towards Dong Aiguo not far away, raising his chin slightly and saying, "Well then, can we finalize your promise? Hurry up and bring out my goods!"
"Hmph!"
While inspecting Ling Bing's injuries, Dong Aiguo glared at Hao Jian's smug tone and snorted disdainfully, retorting, "What's owed to you will naturally be given; why waste so much breath on it?!"
"My words aren't nonsense; I'm merely worried a man of your stature might forget this affair," Hao Jian casually folded his arms in front of his chest, his lips curling into a cold smile as his gaze glinted ominously.
"Hmph! Sharp-tongued brat!"
Unable to outtalk Hao Jian, Dong Aiguo turned away and muttered orders to the nearby Special Forces soldiers, whispering, "Bring this brat's goods here…"
"Sir, are you sure you want to comply with this kid?"
Among those assigned, one soldier protested with a dissatisfied expression.
"He only said we should give him his goods. He never specified whether they should be intact or damaged…"
Dong Aiguo nodded slightly before curling his lips into a cold smirk, his voice subdued.
