Chapter 1365 - Chapter 1365 Chapter 1228 The Changes in New Moon Land
Chapter 1365: Chapter 1228: The Changes in New Moon Land Chapter 1365: Chapter 1228: The Changes in New Moon Land Snow City was closer to the Second Heavenly Boundary Monument, and Chu Mu and Princess Jinrou made a special trip there.
The area around the Heavenly Boundary Monument was always devoid of any plant growth, on the vast and flat land, a scene of desolation and barrenness always met the eye.
The drifting yellow sand always danced in the sky, hazy and veiling, always preventing clear sight of the road ahead–only the towering Heavenly Boundary Monument stood alone, silent and proud, unknowable in age.
Upon seeing the Heavenly Boundary Monument, Chu Mu felt a deep sense of contemplation. Without its existence, he feared that he’d still be lost in a world of slaughter, unable to understand who he was.
Looking up at the Heavenly Boundary Monument, Chu Mu couldn’t explain why, but standing beneath this monument, it felt as though he was meant to stay grounded; flying above it seemed blasphemous and offensive.
“The words said in the Wind Palace, ‘able to read on the Heavenly Boundary Monument’… I don’t understand what that means. Is it saying that only certain people can see it?” Princess Jinrou’s words were soft in Chu Mu’s ear.
Having said that, Princess Jinrou had already floated above the Heavenly Tablet, searching for the decipherable text upon it.
She read with great care, occasionally placing a finger to her lips in thought…
Chu Mu stood there watching her, waiting for her interpretation.
“Chu Mu, I don’t know if this message is meant for you,” Princess Jinrou’s voice drifted down.
“What message?” Chu Mu asked, puzzled.
“The one who has received favor, I ask that you also grant me favor,” Princess Jinrou recited.
Chu Mu was startled. He had once received a drop of Monument Tears from the Heavenly Boundary Monument and it was this gift that allowed him, a formerly mindless Demon Man, to recover to his current state. By that account, he was indeed someone who had been granted a favor by the Heavenly Boundary Monument.
But what did the phrase “I ask that you also grant me favor” mean?
Could it be that the Heavenly Boundary Monument wanted him to do something for it? But what was the connection to the text in the Wind Palace?
Chu Mu flew up, drifting towards the segment of the monument’s text that Princess Jinrou had indicated.
“Try touching it,” Bai Jinrou said.
Chu Mu slowly extended his hand and pressed it against the section of text.
A chilly sensation touched him, swiftly running through his finger and up his arm into his heart’s core, nearly causing Chu Mu to withdraw reflexively.
But, Chu Mu faintly felt something being transmitted to him. It seemed like fragments of a memory, or ancient words, mysteriously swirling within his heart.
“This must be the key to the Wind Palace,” Princess Jinrou said.
Chu Mu let out a wry smile, and spoke, “I have come back and forth so many times. Remember any important information, so we don’t have to make another trip.”
Princess Jinrou laughed as well, “That won’t be necessary because, in truth, we’ve made a grave mistake.”
“What mistake?” Chu Mu asked.
“Actually, the Wind Palace is right beneath this Heavenly Boundary Monument. There’s a space spell on the inscription. If we recite that spell, we can directly enter the Wind Palace,” Jinrou explained.
“Yeah, is that so?”
“Mhm, there’s no mistake. The world is divided into multiple dimensions, and sometimes spatial nodes between dimensions form correspondences. Are you ready?” Princess Jinrou said.
“Ready for what?” Chu Mu was still not catching on, his gaze fixed on Princess Jinrou, who had already started to recite a series of incomprehensible spells.
At the same time, glowing text appeared at the very top of the Heavenly Boundary Monument. The text strangely floated down from the inscription, rapidly forming a space vortex at the top of the monument.
As the vortex appeared, the entire world plunged into unparalleled darkness, as if all light had been sucked away, leaving them unable to see their hands before their faces, except for the eerie space vortex hanging overhead.
Chu Mu still hadn’t made sense of the connection between the Wind Palace and the Heavenly Boundary Monument, when suddenly, a force yanked him towards the spatial vortex.
“Come quick, maybe we’re about to uncover a huge secret,” Princess Jinrou let out a pleasant laugh, leading the way into the space vortex.
Chu Mu naturally followed. Princess Jinrou had mentioned that the Wind Palace contained immortal objects; with that kind of incentive, even if it meant several more trips, Chu Mu was willing.
The space channel was lengthy; it seemed Princess Jinrou’s previous mention of direct dimensional correspondence was slightly off, but it was certainly more convenient than traveling to Snow City, entering the Qiankun Ice Gate, traversing the Ice Mirror World and the cavern again.
Princess Jinrou seemed excited, her demeanor not much different from a little girl discovering something new and fun. While traveling through the space channel, she kept making various guesses…
Talking as they did, a firelight appeared in front.
This light was familiar– it was the glow of that secret room. Passing through the space channel, Chu Mu and Princess Jinrou emerged directly upon an ancient stone slab in the middle of the secret room.
“These past few months, how many spatial channels have I gone through…” Chu Mu muttered to himself.
Shuttling through space, a normal person could hardly stay in worlds not belonging to regular space.
“The key, hurry up,” Princess Jinrou urged.
Chu Mu walked over to the wall hiding the text, slowly extending his hand, recalling that phrase in his mind, “The one who has received favor, I also ask you to grant me favor.”
“What does it all mean? Could it really be giving me a mission?” Chu Mu pondered to himself.
As he thought, Chu Mu suddenly felt the chill that had entered his heart detach from his heart and quickly spread onto the blank characters on the wall.
At this time, the wall gradually began to show symbols that Chu Mu still could not understand; they were densely packed, complicated, and twisted.
Ghost Jinrou’s face revealed a beautiful smile–Chu Mu rarely saw her smile so innocently. Usually, in her eyes and brows, there was always a hint of concern…
“Translate it, please,” Chu Mu could only say helplessly, gazing at the dazzling array of text.
“I’ll look at it first, and then I’ll tell you,” Princess Jinrou playfully winked, quickly focusing all her attention on the text inscribed above.
Princess Jinrou could understand the ancient text, but that did not mean her reading speed was as fast as with modern text. She had to ponder long over many phrases before she could grasp their meanings.
Chu Mu did not know when she would be able to completely decipher it, and out of boredom, he continued to walk around the secret room, looking for something else.
After finding nothing, Chu Mu returned to the main hall to see if anything had been left there.
Princess Jinrou did not notice Chu Mu’s departure as she earnestly scrutinized every line on the mural.
“So, the Dark Sky Sea and the Henghai are actually connected…”
“That means, directly to the south of the World Realm’s Small Southern Forbidden Area is actually the ocean,” Princess Jinrou mused to herself.
“Hmm? The Northern Wasteland Forbidden Zone is also an ocean…”
“And East Madness Forest too?”
“Could it be that the entire New Moon Land was an isthmus long ago? Surrounded by sea on three sides?”
“The Dark Sky Sea World is a small sea, and the Henghai is a boundless ocean, which means that New Moon Land is actually the farthest edge where the mainland and Henghai meet, almost the ends of heaven and the corners of the sea…”
Princess Jinrou connected the interpretation to some of the world map plates she had recently seen and felt that this answer was the most logical.
“What is the Heavenly Boundary Monument then? Could it be a landmark left here by some ancient humans? It seems like it can’t be that simple.”
“Apparently, those in the main hall are creatures that used to inhabit the New Moon Land. It seems that long ago, the New Moon Land must have been a very special territory to attract so many top races to survive. However, as times changed or due to the calamities of the races, it was abandoned until humans gradually began to live here three thousand years ago, slowly prospering into a Sub-clan.”
“But why did the New Moon Land, which gathered so many powerful creatures, decline so quickly? Hmm, there’s an explanation here… I thought they were still being coy?”
Princess Jinrou’s lips curved slightly in a gentle smile.
Princess Jinrou read slowly, and gradually, her expression shifted from excitement to solemnity, and finally, to a trace of fear!
Her body trembled slightly, and she was enveloped in fear.
“Chu… Chu Mu…” Princess Jinrou anxiously called out Chu Mu’s name.
Yet, when she turned around, she found that Chu Mu was no longer in the secret chamber.
“Chu Mu, where are you?!” Princess Jinrou became anxious and frantically searched for Chu Mu.
In the main hall, Chu Mu, who had been scavenging for items, heard Princess Jinrou’s voice and thought she was in danger. He quickly used Displacement Demon Shadow to move in front of her.
Princess Jinrou saw the Silver Demon Flame burning before her and quickly materializing Chu Mu’s silhouette, which somewhat calmed her down.
“What’s wrong?” Chu Mu asked.
Princess Jinrou floated to Chu Mu’s side, hiding behind him, no longer daring to decipher the writing on the wall.
Seeing her frightened, Chu Mu felt a surge of compassion and wanted to open his arms to comfort her, yet his arms passed through her frail shoulders, touching nothing.
Ghost… Chu Mu had forgotten Jinrou’s current state again.
After speaking a few words with Princess Jinrou, her mood gradually calmed down.
“What did you see?” Chu Mu asked.
“I saw a pair of very frightening eyes, and I feel like I’ve seen them somewhere before,” whispered Princess Jinrou.
“Weren’t you reading the text? How did you see eyes? Is there something on that wall?” Chu Mu asked.
Princess Jinrou shook her head, “It was a vision spell. As I read on, I saw visions, and these visions recorded the reasons for the changes in New Moon Land. In those visions, I saw a pair of eyes. Those eyes are the principal criminal, truly terrifying, so terrifying…”
“The feeling was like if you looked into its eyes once, you would never want to wake up, with your body and soul completely controlled by it,” said Princess Jinrou.
“What did that thing look like?” Chu Mu inquired.
“Half human body… the lower half like a flood dragon, a snake, or a fish… Ah! It’s the one on the King’s Chair!!!” Princess Jinrou suddenly exclaimed!
