Chapter 1059 - Chapter 1059 Chapter 924 Demonic Realm Phoenix Clan Monument

Chapter 1059: Chapter 924: Demonic Realm, Phoenix Clan Monument Chapter 1059: Chapter 924: Demonic Realm, Phoenix Clan Monument Chu Mu stood at the very center of the vacant yet incredibly luxurious great hall, flanked on both sides by two female attendants clad in light orange battle attire, looking heroic and impressive.

Chu Mu’s position was at least a hundred meters away from the queen’s throne, with more than ten steps covered in a snowy white fur carpet in between. As soon as Chu Mu had entered the hall, the female attendants took their places on either side of her, meticulously instructing her on the appropriate etiquette for addressing Her Highness: what sort of bow to perform, where to direct her gaze, how to pace her steps – in other words, they made sure Chu Mu wouldn’t commit any breaches in decorum.

“When Her Highness speaks, your gaze should be lowered. When you speak, it can be normal, but you cannot raise your head. If you happen to see the hem of Her Highness’s skirt, you will be punished for the crime of desecration…”

“Your words must be considerate, free from rude language, you cannot…”

The two female attendants kept talking endlessly, and they kept repeating themselves. Chu Mu felt that her current standing position was merely a hundred meters from Mu Qingyi’s throne, but with the uncompromising emphasis these female attendants placed on the ritual, Chu Mu realized that people are not innately unequal, it is the hierarchy imposed by society that insists certain individuals maintain an insurmountable distance from others.

“Her Highness has arrived.”

From the main entrance of the hall, a female attendant announced crisply.

Chu Mu instinctively turned around, only to have the female attendants reprimand her in hushed and sharp tones, instructing her to step aside, bow, and wait to stand upright until after Her Highness had been seated.

Chu Mu couldn’t be bothered with these formalities but wondered why Mu Qingyi’s meeting with her had to be so formal if she just wanted to see Chu Mu. Why not arrange a more private space directly…

“Speak quickly if there is anything to say; Her Highness has other individuals to see–individuals of much higher status than you,” another female attendant whispered.

With this comment, Chu Mu understood that the queen was indeed very busy today and seemingly spared a moment to meet with her on short notice.

“Perform a half-kneeling bow!”

Suddenly, another dissatisfied command from a female attendant rang in Chu Mu’s ear.

Chu Mu outright ignored her, merely keeping her head partially bowed.

In this demure posture, not only could Chu Mu see the hem of Mu Qingyi’s long dress, but she could also gaze upon her waist and curves, adorned by the soft fabric, which swayed with each step in an elegantly enticing manner.

Chu Mu couldn’t help but be drawn to her, and a moment later, realizing the impropriety, shifted her gaze downwards as a means to disguise her lapse of decorum.

However, Mu Qingyi didn’t go straight to her throne, instead stopping in front of Chu Mu.

“You’ve just arrived at Wanxiang City?” Mu Qingyi assessed Chu Mu for a moment before speaking.

“Yeah,” Chu Mu nodded, naturally lifting her head.

But at that moment, Chu Mu’s gaze lingered, slightly entranced.

Her black hair fell loosely with barely any ornamentation, not styled in the usual aristocratic manner but left to drape naturally, and the freshly bathed Mu Qingyi exuded a completely different aura from their first meeting–elegance, gentleness, untainted grace, none of the usual haughtiness or implicit authority that befits a Dominator-level powerhouse. Instead, she presented a charm that was all at once demure, dignified, and pure, much to Chu Mu’s stunned admiration.

The relentless scolding of the two female attendants continued in the background, and if the crime of desecration was just a glance at the hem, now Chu Mu might well be accused of a more serious offense!

Mu Qingyi’s gaze held a hint of amusement as she observed Chu Mu’s distracted state, feeling somewhat pleased internally.

Mu Qingyi hadn’t really dwelt on the matter of the Qiankun Ice Gate, but the thought of a man turning down her goodwill always struck a chord of discomfort within. After all, she was the queen who controlled the entire Wanxiang Realm, the one and only.

Anyone would feel indignant about such a matter, let alone a prideful woman like Mu Qingyi.

Initially, Mu Qingyi didn’t want to see Chu Fangchen because she was holding a grudge. However, upon further reflection, rather than letting an unresolved grudge mar her perfect record, it seemed wiser to salvage some of her pride.

So today, she chose to display a side of herself that leaned more towards femininity, curious whether Chu Fangchen would remain as unresponsive as before.

“You may all leave,” Mu Qingyi gestured with her hand, signaling the servant girls to withdraw.

Despite not caring much for ceremony, as long as no one blatantly stared at certain parts of her body…

The two female attendants at Chu Mu’s side hesitated, expecting the man’s blatant staring to ignite Her Highness’s fury; instead, they beheld a warm, gentle smile on Her Highness’s face, leaving them perplexed, sensing something extraordinary about her today.

“Yes… yes…” the attendants quickly nodded, bowed, and retreated.

“You may leave as well,” Mu Qingyi glanced at her personal attendants behind her and said faintly.

The attendants hesitated, for if they left, only Her Highness and this man would remain in the great hall–something that might be considered a bit…

The personal attendants ultimately withdrew one by one, standing by outside the great hall, probably unable to avoid a bout of idle gossip.

“I’ve heard about the affair in Spirit City. It seems I must reevaluate you. However, weren’t you limited to controlling just one Soul Pet due to your soul being damaged?” Mu Qingyi couldn’t just let Chu Mu keep watching her; she broke the awkward atmosphere with her words.

“One of the White Nightmare Demons isn’t mine. Elder Shen secretly assisted me,” Chu Mu regained his senses and hurriedly explained.

Chu Mu indeed worried that Mu Qingyi would associate him with the Silver Demon, which would really complicate things.

“That means you now possess two Peak Emperors, and not just ordinary ones at that. Besides, the ice spring should also enable you to forge another Peak Emperor. That makes three Peak Emperors,” Mu Qingyi stated.

Having said that, Mu Qingyi gently turned around and walked towards the staircase along the snowy-white carpet.

“That would be the case,” Chu Mu knew he couldn’t keep it a secret.

Chu Mu disregarded what the two maidens told him earlier about not crossing the staircase without permission, and followed Mu Qingyi to the side of the throne.

Looking at the golden throne, Chu Mu couldn’t help but curl his lips into a smile. It seemed that in World City’s World King Hall, he too had such a throne, symbolizing Humanity’s supreme ruler, yet, unfortunately, he hadn’t sat on it till now.

Not one for formalities, Chu Mu, seeing Mu Qingyi take her place on her throne, sat down on a nearby chair.

“Do you realize that you are sitting in Xiong Zuo’s designated seat?” Mu Qingyi’s lowered eyelids lifted. She hadn’t intended to stand and talk with Chu Mu; he had simply followed her so casually.

Mu Qingyi wasn’t concerned about matters of understanding or position; rather, since the Queen’s Palace was surrounded by the palaces of the Soul Alliance, if any Heroic level powerhouse were to intrude uninvited, like what Chu Mu was doing now, they could be executed on the spot with the Three Great Palaces having no grounds for redress.

“I’ve come this time to seek your advice on the process of the Phoenix Clan’s Nirvana,” Chu Mu got straight to the point without further ado.

Mu Qingyi apparently hadn’t expected Chu Mu to ask about this and inquired, “Why bring that up now?”

Chu Mu hesitated for a while, wondering whether to tell the truth outright or to prevaricate with some other reason.

After pondering, Chu Mu felt that lying might not necessarily result in Mu Qingyi’s help, so he decided to tell the truth.

“I have obtained a Phoenix tribe youngling; it is currently in deep sleep and would only potentially be able to Sign a Soul Pact with me after undergoing Nirvana.” Chu Mu’s truthfulness was confined to this.

Mu Qingyi was about to speak when she heard Chu Mu mention obtaining a Phoenix Clan Soul Pet, and her beautiful eyes betrayed an unmistakable surprise.

Naturally, Mu Qingyi wanted to inquire about the origins of this Phoenix Clan Soul Pet, and Chu Mu gave deliberately vague responses, indicating he wasn’t quite sure of its provenance.

Mu Qingyi looked at Chu Mu, guessing that he did not wish to disclose the full story, and thus she realized it would be meaningless to continue questioning.

“I’ve spent considerable time collecting documents about the Phoenix Clan, seeking the method for my Soul Pet’s Nirvana, but I won’t enter the Phoenix tribe monument until I own a second Dominator Level Spirit Pet,” Mu Qingyi explained.

“The Phoenix tribe monument? Is that place very dangerous?” Chu Mu had indeed heard this term for the first time.

Mu Qingyi hesitated for a moment before speaking, “Haven’t I told you about the existence of Thunder Lord, the Fox of Absolving, in the demonic realm? The Phoenix tribe monument is guarded by this demon realm’s Thunder Lord.”

“For a Phoenix Clan’s resurrection through Nirvana, a specific location is needed, which is what’s referred to as the Phoenix tribe monument, generally meaning the burial site of an even stronger Phoenix Clan member. A few years ago, I intentionally headed to the depths of the Forbidden Domain-controlled realm for my Soul Pet’s strength enhancement. However, the realm is guarded by Thunder Lord, the Fox of Absolving; I couldn’t even enter the demonic realm, let alone the Phoenix tribe monument deep within.”

“…” Chu Mu responded with a wry smile.

He had originally thought that resurrection through Nirvana wouldn’t be too difficult, yet it turned out to be a matter of entering a realm guarded by the exceedingly powerful Thunder Lord, the Fox of Absolving–a realm even Mu Qingyi couldn’t penetrate…

“Is there no other way?” Chu Mu asked.

Given the likely formidable strength of Thunder Lord, Chu Mu alone might not be able to handle him, while joining forces with Mu Qingyi was also out of the question, as he certainly couldn’t half-demonize himself in front of her.

“There is another way, but I am not inclined to take it,” Mu Qingyi replied.

“Why?” Chu Mu immediately asked, for successfully completing the Nirvana for Dream of Oblivion was of immense importance to him, granting him a Winged System Dominator.

“Many creatures of extreme strength slumber there, and they, too, are guardians of the demonic realm. If any threatening creature enters, they will be met with a joint attack,” Mu Qingyi paused before continuing, “By threatening creatures, I mean those whose aura reaches the Dominator level. In other words, if I were to take that route, I couldn’t summon the Crowned Phoenix King.

“You should be well aware of what could happen in a place like the demonic realm without Dominator-Level Power.” (To be continued. If you enjoy this work, welcome to Qidian (NovelFire.net) to cast your recommendation votes and monthly tickets. Your support is my biggest driving force.)
