Chapter 610: Chapter 389 Titanium Cobalt Lan
"I’ll contact Mr. Hu Lan," Ji Xinghuo said.
Cheng Sheng took out something similar to a voice transmitter. It was about the size of a mobile phone on Earth and with a few light presses, he sent a message.
Seeing Ji Xinghuo’s curiosity, he explained, "This is a personal Star Connection Device. It doesn’t have as many functions as a mobile phone but can be used within the Star Realm and can also send messages through the Star Gate to the Milky Way, though only within the True Dragon Dynasty and generally only for text messages."
Ji Xinghuo nodded.
This was similar to the "Star Connection Device" that Chieftain Han Qiu used to contact the Void Spirit Guest, but the communication range of the Star Connection Device was much greater.
Communication is the most fundamental need of a civilization.
The foundation of the True Dragon Dynasty lay in the Star Realm; they were not keen on developing technology, but their Ether Technology had reached the Seventh Level of civilization, and without communication capabilities, ruling such a vast territory would be impossible.
"Brother Sheng, are there restrictions on buying a Star Connection Device?" Ji Xinghuo asked.
On Earth, any mobile phone or internet terminal required personal identity verification. People without an official identity couldn’t even use them.
"Of course," Cheng Sheng replied. "But this is the Star Realm, after all. The information technology based on Ether Technology here is not as advanced as electronic technology, and even with strict management by the True Dragon Dynasty, there are loopholes. Getting a legal identity isn’t too difficult. Settle down first, and I’ll handle it for you."
"Thank you so much," Ji Xinghuo said, reassured.
Indeed, this was something he had been considering. He might have to make his way in the True Dragon Dynasty long-term, and having a legal identity was essential.
Just as Cheng Sheng was about to speak again, his personal terminal lit up. After a quick glance, he stood up.
"Lady Hu Lan has asked us to meet her," he said.
"Now?" Ji Xinghuo asked, puzzled.
"Yes," Cheng Sheng explained. "She doesn’t want to meet us per se but to see the letter written by the leader. Come with me."
The two left the teahouse and walked into the large room next to the Martial Arts Arena.
Ji Xinghuo hadn’t even entered when he sensed a powerful aura. Stepping inside, he was confronted by an enormous creature.
This was a True Dragon!
It was entirely jet-black and glossy, with huge, thick scales layered like mountain ranges. From its head along its neck to its back, there was a row of giant metallic blades. Its limbs joints, and tail all had similar blade-like structures. Its skull looked fierce and terrifying, resembling a war machine forged of steel!
"Steel Blade Dragon!"
Ji Xinghuo’s eyes brightened, admiring the True Dragon before him.
It was Cheng Sheng’s True Dragon companion, a Bright Level Steel Blade Dragon, about thirty meters long. It lay resting in its alloy nest, eyes half-closed, lifting an eyelid upon sensing someone approaching.
Instantly, a terrifying aura spread out. Its cloudy, yellowish pupils stood upright, locking onto Ji Xinghuo.
Its head also raised, towering imposingly.
"Mad Blade, this is my friend," Cheng Sheng quickly said, "he’s not an enemy, relax a bit."
The Steel Blade Dragon still stared intently at Ji Xinghuo, its eyes filled with suspicion, a mark of high intelligence.
The biggest difference with True Dragon monsters was their intelligence.
Some True Dragons were even smarter than most intelligent races, possessing different temperaments like cunning, alertness, calmness, and timidity. In many ways, True Dragons are an independent intelligent race.
"Your friend is not simple," the Steel Blade Dragon said, its voice deep and resonating through the room as it continued to size up Ji Xinghuo.
Ji Xinghuo wasn’t surprised.
True Dragons were capable of speech and spoke the True Dragon Language.
The so-called "True Dragon Language" was originally the language of True Dragons, which had been promoted by True Dragon people and merged with the vocabulary and habits of the Human Race to form the current language system, from which hundreds of derivative languages had developed.
"He, like me, is also from Earth," Cheng Sheng introduced, "His name is Ji Xinghuo."
The Steel Blade Dragon lowered its head to get a closer look at Ji Xinghuo.
"An Earthling?"
"Why would an Earthling disguise himself as one of the Deserted People?"
Hearing its two questions, Ji Xinghuo fully appreciated how smart True Dragons were. They couldn’t be treated just as War Pets, so he explained, "From the Thousand Peak Abyss Forest to the Yuan Magnetic Territory is too far. I didn’t want to be mistaken for a True Dragon person, so I disguised myself to avoid unnecessary trouble."
"Hmm..." The Steel Blade Dragon nodded thoughtfully, "That does make sense. You’ve thought this through."
Although he said that, Ji Xinghuo could tell he wasn’t completely convinced.
"We are going to meet Lady Titanium Cobalt Lan," Cheng Sheng changed the topic as he sprang up onto the Steel Blade Dragon’s back, asking, "Mad Blade, you don’t mind taking Xinghuo along to Titanium Ring City, do you?"
The Steel Blade Dragon didn’t answer right away, clearly hesitant.
"Brother Sheng, I can fly. Just lead the way," Ji Xinghuo said, understandingly.
It was sometimes problematic how intelligent True Dragons were, often having their own opinions and not being highly obedient. Even as a companion, the owner might need to seek their consent to bring someone else along.
Of course, this might also be because this Steel Blade Dragon had a bad temper.
The Steel Blade Dragon belonged to the "Golden Dragon Species."
This species of True Dragons usually had a more volatile temper. They had their drawbacks but also their strengths; they were ferocious and wild in battle, generally possess higher overall strength than other dragon species.
Unexpectedly, after a few seconds of hesitation, the Steel Blade Dragon said, "Since it’s to meet Lady Titanium Cobalt Lan, come aboard."
"Thank you," Ji Xinghuo said.
He flew up and landed behind Cheng Sheng.
The surface under his feet felt as hard as standing on a steel plate, and the nearby spinal blades provided a convenient foothold.
