Supreme Electromagnetic Tyrant -
Chapter 393 - 279: Light Spirit Flash Butterfly
Chapter 393: Chapter 279: Light Spirit Flash Butterfly
Ji Xinghuo heard the sharp voice, and through electromagnetic induction, he quickly located its source; he couldn’t hide the surprise on his face.
"Xiaokui, come out." Ren Mian said gently, "That’s not a monster, it won’t bite you."
The voice hesitated before asking, "Really?"
"Sister wouldn’t lie to you."
Following that, a tiny head peeked out from behind Ren Mian’s neck. A pair of round eyes met Ji Xinghuo’s for a moment before swiftly retreating in fear, "Sister, who is this big bearded man? He looks so scary."
"He is Ji Xinghuo, a good friend of mine, he won’t hurt you." Ren Mian was very patient. "It’s impolite to hide when meeting friends, so come on out."
"Alright then..."
With a somewhat reluctant agreement, after dawdling for a few seconds, a delicate figure swung down from Ren Mian’s hair like swinging on a swing, landing on her shoulder.
It wasn’t until that moment that Ji Xinghuo got a clear look.
It was a beautiful creature resembling a butterfly, with two pairs of light blue and purple wings. Its patterns were like a rainbow, shining with a bright glimmer. When it moved, the wings created a brilliant and colorful glow, as if an elf were dancing.
However, it was quite small, with wings no more than ten centimeters wide.
Between the two pairs of wings sat a humanoid torso, complete with limbs and facial features; the tiny body was dressed in a light gossamer woven skirt. Despite being only about three centimeters tall, roughly the size of a thumbelina, it was fully formed, with a delicate, cute face and an extraordinary aura.
But at that moment, her bright eyes were filled with timidity, her little hands tightly clutching Ren Mian’s hair, like a frightened little girl.
Ren Mian introduced her: "Her name is Ye Xiaokui, and like your Qing Hong, she’s also a Spiritual Object."
"Hello, Xiaokui, I’m Ji Xinghuo."
Ji Xinghuo greeted her, making a friendly smile appear on his face, but even restored to human form, the blood marks on his body still made him look somewhat ferocious.
"Hello..."
She replied softly and politely, glancing up at Ji Xinghuo before immediately looking down again.
"You can call me brother Xinghuo," Ji Xinghuo asked gently. "Xiaokui, are you a little flower fairy?" It was truly rare for a Spiritual Object like Xiaokui to be able to speak. Moreover, she appeared timid as a mouse, but her strength was by no means weak.
From the fluctuations of Ether Energy, she was actually a Catastrophe-Level Spiritual Object, at least of the "Radiant" Level!
If anyone really thought they could bully her, they would certainly be in for bad luck.
"What’s a little flower fairy, brother Xinghuo?" Xiaokui immediately became interested, blinking her eyes, full of curiosity.
Ji Xinghuo thought for a moment, "It’s a beautiful and kind fairy, just like you."
"Really?"
Xiaokui flew up and circled around, "Brother Xinghuo also thinks I’m pretty, then I must be a little flower fairy, giggle..."
She flew joyfully around Ji Xinghuo, trailing colorful lights behind her, scattering faint dustings of light through the air, like twinkling stars.
Ji Xinghuo had already figured out her personality; she was like a two or three-year-old toddler—playful, curious, and shy, entirely devoid of guile.
"Qing Hong, come here."
The Qing Hong in the garden instantly transported itself inside the house. Xiaokui gave a start, her wings fluttering and turning into a beam of light as she hid again in Ren Mian’s hair.
Ji Xinghuo said, "Its name is Qing Hong, and although it doesn’t speak, it can be your good friend."
"Really?" Xiaokui poked her head out again, "I don’t believe it."
At Ji Xinghuo’s command, Qing Hong swiftly shrank its body, becoming just over ten centimeters long. It hopped onto the table, wagging its tail at Xiaokui, looking quite eager to please.
Ren Mian also coaxed, "I’ve known Qing Hong for a very long time, go play with it."
Only then did Xiaokui carefully fly out, muster her courage, and sit on Qing Hong’s back. Her size matched perfectly with the shrunken Qing Hong, which she took as a mount. Qing Hong flickered in a flash, transporting to the garden outside the house, where it ran feverishly, soon followed by the sound of cheerful laughter.
Then Ji Xinghuo asked, "Sister Ren, what kind of Spiritual Object is Xiaokui?"
"I’m not certain."
Ren Mian shook her head slightly, "When I found this Secret Realm Fragment, Xiaokui was already here, just as she is now, very smart, but she couldn’t speak. I slowly taught her to speak and to communicate, and her intelligence grew a bit too."
"Later, after I consulted a lot of materials, I guessed she might be a variant of the ’Optical Stringer Butterfly,’ similar to how your Qing Hong mutated from the Iron Arrow Cyan. "
"Optical Stringer Butterfly?" Ji Xinghuo had not heard of it before.
"Yes." Ren Mian nodded, "A very rare type of insect monster, born with some control over light, capable of manifesting various abilities related to light. Xiaokui is not a typical Optical Stringer Butterfly and has high intelligence. She has helped me a lot in achieving my current strength."
Ji Xinghuo immediately understood, "So, Sister Ren, you and Xiaokui share an Alien Coexistence relationship?"
He knew that Ren Mian was an Optical Stringer, a Crystalline Light Servant. Both these professions required various "light"-related Abilities, and the plants controlled by a Plant Witch also relied heavily on photosynthesis; therefore, it made sense that Ren Mian chose to form a symbiotic relationship with an Optical Stringer Butterfly.
Perhaps it was because of Xiaokui that she embarked on the path of evolution through light.
"That’s right." Ren Mian let out a sigh, "It’s a pity that Xiaokui is naturally timid and dares not take part in fights. It breaks my heart to see her scared, so I let her stay here all the time."
As she said this, her face revealed a motherly glow.
Clearly, in her eyes, Xiaokui was no longer just a War Pet, but held an uncommonly special place, like that of a daughter.
