Chapter 291: Chapter 221: Father and Son_2
The civilization order of Sky Falling Cliff stems from these Snow Ape Giants.
They are a tribe of giants.
Thousands of giants are fully armed, guarding Sky Falling Cliff, maintaining public order, and are the force that nobody dares to provoke at Sky Falling Cliff.
However, the Snow Ape Giants are not the rulers of Sky Falling Cliff.
Someone else rules over it.
A moment later.
The line moved quickly, and Ji Xinghuo approached the elevator, coming into close contact with these giant guards, and felt even more acutely the formidable aura of these giants. Within a few meters around them, the temperature was even lower, and with every slow breath, they exhaled a puff of white frost.
The Snow Ape Giant’s gaze swept over, looked at Ji Xinghuo, and without the slightest fluctuation, waved him through.
The hexagonal platform was about ten meters in diameter.
Ji Xinghuo stood on it alongside dozens of others, some of whom even brought their mounts, totaling a weight of about five or six tons.
"Ascend!"
The giant guard closed the gate, shouted loudly, and white steam billowed from the chimney of the nearby boiler room. Gears turned, driving huge chains, and producing a clattering symphony.
The platform began to ascend.
There were only simple railings around the edges, and as the height increased, gusts of cold wind blew over, shaking the platform and causing some of those afraid of heights to turn pale with tension.
Ji Xinghuo had just jumped off cliffs a dozen times, which trained his courage, so he didn’t feel much.
Soon, the platform reached the top.
A vast city area came into view, with clean and tidy streets, and stone and log houses of varying heights strewn about, stretching to the edge of sight. These buildings had distinct architectural styles, as if dozens of different design concepts were mixed together, yet they somehow harmoniously blended into their own style.
"Everyone, please exit."
There were giant guards outside the platform too, who opened the gate.
Ji Xinghuo followed the crowd out, setting foot on a square at the edge of the cliff. There were many people queuing here too, but they were waiting to go down.
He left the square, walking aimlessly along the street.
The area of Sky Falling Cliff was very large, spanning over a hundred square kilometers, but not all places were city areas, mainly concentrated around the edges of the cliff, encircling the entire mountain, forming a ring-shaped city. Moreover, Sky Falling Cliff was not completely flat; in fact, it sloped slightly, higher in the middle and lower around the edges.
The center rose gradually from the surroundings, and the highest point in the middle was only a few hundred meters tall. From anywhere in the city, one could gaze at the magnificent stone-built palace atop the mountain.
With Ji Xinghuo’s vision, he could see that there were giant guards outside the palace.
A level lower than the palace, there were numerous rock caves encircling it, with many Snow Ape Giants coming in and out—those were their tribal settlements.
Beyond the Giant Tribe, lay the ring-shaped city area.
The layout was simple, also reflecting the stratification of the city.
Passing through the bustling streets, Ji Xinghuo approached the center of Sky Falling Cliff, looking towards the mountaintop. The stone-built palace was outside the radius of electromagnetic induction, impenetrable to his probes.
However, he could sense that inside the palace was a very powerful being, stronger than the Heavenly King. He reminded Ji Xinghuo of the "Queen Aya" from the Sky Feather Royal Court.
The fact that he felt this way, was undoubtedly because of the Shepherd Star Saint!
That individual was the master of Sky Falling Cliff.
It was said that very few people had ever seen the powerful occupant of the palace. Many Mutants from Earth had visited Sky Falling Cliff but had not had the chance to meet them.
None of the Earth Mutants knew the ruler’s race or name.
At least, there was no information on the Earth’s internet.
Even the Mutants who had been at Sky Falling Cliff for decades knew nothing, and people referred to them as "The Master of Sky Falling Cliff." They never showed themselves, only issuing commands, laws, or verdicts through the chieftain of the Snow Ape Giant Tribe when needed.
In short, very mysterious.
Ji Xinghuo watched from a distance for a while, then withdrew his gaze.
"Time to find a place to stay."
No matter the kingdom or civilization, as long as there’s a place to stay, inns, hotels, where a large influx of foreigners gather, there’s always information to be found.
He walked along the street, casually buying a map of Sky Falling Cliff’s city areas with True Dragon Coins.
The map indicated a simple division of Sky Falling Cliff.
Mainly, racial groups stuck together, with Highlanders and the Biao Clan occupying the largest city areas, together making up one-third. The remaining two-thirds were divided among dozens of other races.
Ji Xinghuo did not find a gathering place for Earthlings.
That was normal.
The Earth Star Gate hadn’t been open for two hundred years, mainly operating in the Thousand Peak Abyss Forest. Only a very few had made it to the Bloody Plateau, certainly not enough to form a power in Sky Falling Cliff.
Ji Xinghuo asked around on the streets for a while.
At first, the person being questioned was impatient, but as soon as they heard Ji Xinghuo speak in True Dragon Language, knew he was of the Human Race, saw his sturdy build, the obscure aura he emitted, and the dense scale patterns faintly visible beneath his clean, pale skin, they immediately became very polite.
Actually, since entering Sky Falling Cliff, Ji Xinghuo had noticed.
The gazes of passersby were somewhat respectful, some were even afraid, and didn’t dare to meet his gaze.
They thought he was a True Dragon person.
The dragon descendants of the True Dragon Dynasty, even on the Bloody Plateau, were renowned far and wide.
Ji Xinghuo learned some useful information; to the east of Sky Falling Cliff was a city district called "Frostwind Street," where various races lived together, trading caravans came and went, and there was an abundance of inns, hotels, and entertainment venues, with information flowing particularly freely.
Frostwind Street was nestled against the eastern edge of the Sky Falling Cliff, stretching two to three kilometers, with a line of shops along the street and alleys leading towards the middle of the cliff, hiding many secret places.
As Ji Xinghuo walked down the street, his eyes were wide with amazement.
He saw many races he’d never seen or recognized before bustling about the street. There were Alien Races from the Star Realm and others from alien species, all bizarre and peculiar, making it feel like he’d entered a racial exposition hall.
However, the most numerous were still the Human Race.
Electromagnetic induction spread out.
Ji Xinghuo carefully scanned and quickly found an inn that was gathering spots for humans, and so he casually walked over.
Before he even entered, he heard a series of thumping noises of a fight coming from inside.
A figure was thrown out of the door.
This was a red-skinned Dan person, who fell heavily onto the street. His armor was cut open, and he had two slash wounds across his chest, bleeding profusely and looking very disheveled.
"Get lost!"
"While I’m still in a good mood, I don’t want to kill anyone," a voice said, triumphant and loud as it cursed, "You haven’t even grown hair yet, and you dare to fight with me over a woman; you’re tired of living."
The person speaking was using True Dragon Language, and their tone was very arrogant.
The Dan person outside the door got up, glared angrily at the inside of the inn but still turned around and ran away.
"Hahaha, coward!"
The person inside taunted again, this time switching to the Yagong language.
Laughter erupted from within the inn.
Ji Xinghuo shook his head. He didn’t need to see the whole scene to guess what was happening, so he walked into the inn, which had a spacious lobby.
Directly opposite the entrance was a bar counter with about a dozen tables and chairs around it, occupied by quite a few people.
Mostly humans sat there.
Males and females, with skin and hair as diverse as a rainbow—red, white, black, gray, blue, with varying heights and builds, each with distinctive features. Without expert knowledge in the branches of the Human Race, it would be hard to distinguish which branch this mix of humans belonged to, or which country or planet they came from.
The arrival of Ji Xinghuo didn’t attract much attention; a casual glance was all he received as he was glanced over.
He headed towards the bar counter.
The man who had been cursing earlier sat at the edge of the bar, with his back to the door, embracing a fiery-figured redhead woman in his arms, whispering sweet nothings.
Ji Xinghuo gave him a glance—a top super mutant, only half a step away from being legendary.
"Very strong," he inwardly commented.
However, looking at the man’s back, Ji Xinghuo felt a strange sense of familiarity, yet couldn’t remember when he had seen this person before.
It seemed that the man had sensed Ji Xinghuo’s gaze and turned his head.
Both got a clear view of each other’s faces.
In an instant, Ji Xinghuo stood frozen as if struck by a thunder strike, while the other man was also dumbfounded, staring at Ji Xinghuo’s face, at a loss for words.
After a few seconds, both men exclaimed at the same time.
"Holy shit!"
"What the hell!"
Ji Xinghuo and the man stared at each other, assessing the other’s face.
The face was all too familiar; clear-cut and distinct features, quite handsome, and bearing a seven-to-eight resemblance to himself. If he and the man stood side by side, anyone but a blind person could tell there was a blood relation, like a pair of brothers.
Ji Xinghuo had seen this man’s photo on his 22nd birthday two years prior.
He had matured a bit since the photo, but still looked quite young, in his thirties, with the same reckless demeanor, the same dashing handsomeness.
But the occasion was somewhat awkward.
The man still held an alien woman in his arms, subconsciously loosening his hold. He put out the cigarette he had been holding in his mouth, wiped his hand on his trousers, and then reached out.
"I’m Xia Qingyu," he introduced himself, asking earnestly, "What’s your name?"
